One Week later.
"Kamera. First participants can enter!" A cameraman shouted.
Andrew, Alia and Loka nodded. They immediately sat in the chair that was provided. And not long after that, a man came to the gallery, pushing a trolley where the prepared food was there.
"Hello Chef." He greeted, and stood behind the bench.
"Hello." Alia greeted back, with her usual thin smile.
"Who and from where." Andrew asked.
While Loka silently stared intently, with both hands folded over her chest.
"My name is Riki from Sukabumi, Chef." He said, with a face that looks reddened, and body gestures that look nervous until the participant continues to play to ten fingers.
"What do you cook?" Loka finally opened her voice.
"Soto Madura Chef!" Said.
Loka's face suddenly frowned, rolled her eyes and turned to the side, looking at her friends one by one.
"You're Sukabumi?" Loka said back.
"Yes Chef. His mouth while smiling shyly.
"Loh, this is weird! You're Sukabumi but cook soto Madura! How the hell?" The lake with ketus.
Andrew and Alia smiled.
"Mmmm, …"
Riki hasn't spoken much. Loka spoke again.
"It's not a matter of whether or not you can! Actually it's okay, but why do you bring Madura special food? Sukabumi also has a variety of cuisines. There's tutug rice oncom and so on." Loka.
"Maybe Chef Loka meant why you didn't bring Sundanese cuisine to the gallery here!" Alia looked at Loka.
And turned his gaze back to the man who was currently standing while continuing to smile.
"Why did you bring Soto Madura?"
Loka asked again, but now in a softer voice than before.
"Because I love Soto Madura Chef."
And that answer made all the judges nod their heads. Even Alia continued to smile, trying to make the gallery atmosphere not too stressful because of the Loka who always looked a little creepy.
"All right, I'll give you five minutes. Please start now!"
The man in question nodded his head. He began to put one small pot on the stove, then lit it. Do not forget to prepare one bowl, fill it with soun noodles and chicken suwiran that looks quite large.
Alia got up, she seemed to walk up to the participant's bench, and stood there to take a look.
"Hows it? Do you care about what you're carrying now?" Ask Alia.
"Med, Chef. You often cook this at home!"
Alia nodded, with a completely unmoved look. Makes Riki's hands vibrate violently with a thumping chest.
"Why?" Alia laughing.
"Groyal Chef."
Alia laughed again, even firmer this time.
"What are you wearing?" Alia diverted the conversation.
"Chicken Chef's village." He's answering. "In presto first, kept in the fry. And after that I just suwir origin." The man explained.
Alia nodded hearing the explanation of the participants before her.
"Hopefully this dish gets you apron well! It's okay to be simple, but one thing to think about, which is taste. Simple, delicious! We can consider it, but if it is simple, but it feels far from expectations, .. get ready! Because the standard of the gallery is high." Alia commemorates.
"Ready Chef."
And after the allotted time began to run out, Andrew began to count down. While Riki is still cool to make the plating sotoya look very dancing.
"Six, ... five, ... four, ... three, .. two, ... one, ... Time out!" Firm Andrew.
Riki raised both of his hands.
Loka got up first, walked closer to the Riki bench, where a bowl of Soto Madura was served there.
"Hows it? difficult?" He looked at Riki's Madura soto.
Loka grabbed the spoon that had been provided there, looked at Riki first with a sharp and piercing gaze, then bent over to bring a small bowl, and put a few spoonfuls of soto into the bowl to taste. Not to forget Loka added chili and lime juice which also Riki provided in one of the small bowls.
Riki was silent, especially when Loka tasted it with so much detail. First the sauce, then the soun, the chicken suwiran, until the look of his face looks fickle.
Then Loka left without a word.
"Soto Madura's. This is one of my favorites as well, so I have high expectations of your Madura soto." Andrew approaching.
He grabbed a small bowl and also a spoon, then brought some condiments for him to value from each ingredient. Whether it's the maturity of the chicken, the noodle soun, and the taste of the sauce itself.
And the man did the same thing, went without a word, and sat down.
"Why?" Alia approaching.
"No Chef, I'm afraid I can't get an apron."
Alia did not immediately reply, she focused on tasting the soto. Until finally he turned his gaze to Riki, with his mouth still filled with a spoon that he had eaten.
"You've prepared ripe soun noodles huh!?" Ask Alia.
Riki replied with a nod.
"Hemmm, .. The texture is already very bad." After saying that Alia turned around, then went back and sat down between Loka and Andrew.
While Riki looked at the comments from Alia. His head shrieked, Loka's sharp gaze, Andrew who was not too talkative, with Alia's comments thus, made Riki feel doubtful if he could get an apron and enter the next stage of selection.
"Chef Andrew, .. please!" Alia said with a smile.
"Eee, .. For the sake of the sauce is delicious, the chicken is chewy, the flavor is still okay, even though like you use too much turmeric and almost change the taste of the sauce itself." Andrew made a comment.
"Thank you, Chef Andrew." Riki.
"Yes, I agree with what Chef Andrew said. The sauce itself is too turmeric, lucky there are limes that can slightly hide the strong smell and from the bitter taste of turmeric itself. For soun noodles, because preparing them is not too time consuming, you should be able to boil them after the start, so you can still maintain the texture." Alia smiling.
Then the woman turned to look towards Loka.
"I won't say much, because everything Alia and Andrew have commented on. I'm just saying, the soun noodles are too soft, and I don't like that. The sauce is good, the chicken suwiran is appropriate. But remember, this is a very prestigious cooking event, everything is not enough just because some mistakes can still be covered by other advantages." Obviously Loka.
Riki nodded. And for a moment things became quiet. Makes Riki even more nervous, and hesitant over what he is doing.
"Why don't you cook your soun noodles here!" Inner talking.
He cursed what he did.
"How's Chef Loka?" Alia asked, turning her head and looking closely at her companion.
"No!" Speak Loka without further ado.
"Thank you, Chef Loka!" Riki sighed with a disappointed look.
"Chef Andrew?" Alia turned to one more partner.
"As I said. I love Soto Madura make you, .. even though the soun noodles are already textured weird. But the other condiments can still save! So I'm yes." Andrew smiled.
"Thank you, Chef Andrew."
Riki clenched her palms, then placed them before her mouth, with a thumping feeling.
"The seasoning is good, the combination of salty, savory, sour, also a little spicy because you prepare chili and lime pieces, I like it. But remember, the use of turmeric is only sober, should not be too much because it will change the taste of the sauce itself, right said Chaf Andrew earlier." Alia.
"Ready, Chef."
Alia smiled, she got up from her seat, walked up to one of the storage bins, brought one apron and immediately gave it to Riki.
"I, yes. You passed for the next selection, but remember! It's a gallery, you can't take it for granted. There are a lot of people with very amazing cooking skills, be the best of the good, because the competition will be more fierce." Alia.
Riki nodded, he immediately grabbed the white apron that Alia thrust out. Wear it with a happy feeling.
"Thank you, Chef." He said, then reached out his hand, which Alia immediately reached.
"Yes." Yeah."
Riki advanced closer, then grabbed the hands of each of the jury Chefs.
"After this you have to make a dish that can amaze me, okay?" Loka to Riki.
"Ready, Chef Loka."
"Congrats, yeah. Congratulations, there will be a lot of challenges in there. And this is just the beginning!" Andrew said as the participant shook his hand.
"Thank you very much, Chef."
