Chapter 11 Saying Love
After a long time at the beach, Elina planned to go home. But Dimas arrived - suddenly prevented it and wanted to say something to elina. She ventured to express her feelings for Elina at that time.
"El...wait a minute".while pulling Elina's hand from behind, Elina then turned to look at dimas.
"What's wrong?" ask Elina.
"There's something I want to tell you" she replied.
"What did you want to say?" ask Elina.
"For the past few days I've been here, I've always been watching you. At first I was just amazed at you but last night I just found out that it wasn't a feeling of admiration. I know you don't like outsiders but I can't just be quiet without saying all my feelings.so El". Dimas still wanted to say something but the conversation was cut off by Elina.
"Actually mas Dimas want to say what the hell until it mutar - mutar that word - he said?" ask Elina.
"I'd like to say...If I like you, I'm not just in love with you, but I'm in love with you. So El. Will you date me" said dimas.
Elina who heard that was shocked and startled, she just silently looked at Dimas.
"El...do you take it?" dimas asked back while looking at Elina.
"This is too soon, we've only known each other for a few days and Dimas has feelings for me" replied Elina.
"Didn't love always come - come or don't you like me?" ask Dimas.
"It's not like that, I like Mas Dimas but it's too fast" replied Elina.
Dimas was smiling when he heard Elina say she liked him.
"So you like me El. This means you have no reason to be able to reject me" Dimas said.
"But I..." Elina had not been able to continue the words - she said - until Dimas closed Elina's mouth with his index finger.
"If that's the reason, take it easy.we can start slowly - slowly" said Dimas.
Elina just silently nodded her head in the sign that she accepted Dimas. Dimas was very happy and immediately peeked at Elina's forehead making elina shocked and embarrassed.
They also spent time on the beach until they realized that it was night.
At home, Grandma Sira was already waiting for them, her face looked solemn. When they entered, Grandma Sira immediately invited them to dinner. The dinner was tense as well. Dimas who saw Grandma Sira's expression felt that something was happening.
After eating, Sira's grandmother asked Elina to speak together.
"El....We talked together for a while in the room" Sira's grandmother said.
"Good grandma" replied Elina.
Dimas and Elina looked at each other seriously, they already knew Grandma Sira's expression there must be something serious she wanted to say. The two of them then went to the room to talk while Dimas was still eating.
(In the room)
"What does grandma want to say?" ask Elina.
"Everyone on this island is talking about you and that foreign man" replied Grandma Sira.
"What's wrong with us grandma?" ask Elina.
"They're talking about you guys who are always together and look as friendly as a couple. You're an El girl, it's not good for you both with a foreign man let alone we don't know his origin. This islander even questioned Dimas' whereabouts" Sira's grandmother said.
"But we didn't do anything Grandma. We just walk" replied Elina.
"Grandmother knows El.but the thoughts of people here are different from outsiders. Maybe you think only the roads and do nothing but people here don't think like that. You better hurry up and have your uncle look for his family and you bring him back" said Sira's grandmother.
"Grandmother kicked out Dimas mas" replied Elina.
"Grandmother did not cast out. Although there is a grandmother here but you are not good at living at home especially you are not married" said Grandma Sira.
"So you mean that if we get married we can live together?" ask Elina.
Sira's grandmother just kept quiet to hear Elina's words while Dimas who was outside heard everything they said.
