Nathan exhaled a rough breath. He left before his mother's guests left, and Nathan could see the disappointed look on his face.
But Nathan did not like to be there, he came just to make his mother happy and not sad, but instead made him feel uncomfortable with the gaze of the woman they would be paired with. Because ever since he came Maudy always stared at him, even though Nathan didn't reply but he knew.
