The clock has shown ten o'clock at night. Rania's steps stopped right in front of a simple restaurant that began to be quiet visitors. He looked at the food on display in the menu cabinet which also only had a few servings left.
"Can I help you?" Asked a middle-aged woman greeting Rania.
"Sorry buk, may I meet the owner of this restaurant?"
"I happen to be the owner, mbak." Answer the mother was friendly.
"Oh, can I help clean or wash dishes? I don't need to pay for just one serving of food. I haven't eaten since last afternoon, buk."
Hearing Rania's words, made the middle-aged woman look at her from toe to head. Rania knew, the mother was judging her, the mother was thinking whether to believe her or to throw her out.
"Bby mbak. Let's go in." Take friendly. Rania really wanted to cry to hear her answer.
He showed the kitchen a dishwasher that turned out to be a lot of dirty dishes there.
"I haven't had time to do the dishes, because it's too busy serving customers who come to dinner." Giving the dishwasher gloves to Rania.
"I'm usually helped by my sister, but five days ago my sister died in a car crash." His speech.
Rania saw her eyes glazed over. Without waiting for a long time he immediately started washing dishes to divert the conversation that might be uncomfortable for the mother.
Seeing Rania start washing dishes, the mother went back to the front to continue serving some guests who had just arrived and some were willing to pay because they had finished eating. And the mother deliberately left twenty-five thousand money right next to a pile of dirty dishes. He wants to find out if Rania is an honest person or a parasite that will hitch a ride on her.
Rania continues to wash dishes, although actually her stomach has stifled hunger. But, he couldn't possibly ask for a meal before his task was completed.
"This is the last plate. The dining house is closed. After you finish washing the dishes meet me in front." Putting the dirty dishes next to Rania.
His eyes looked at the money still lying there in the same position as when he left it there. There was a smile of relief on his face, but he didn't want to be too happy just yet. The middle-aged woman added two hundred ribua money sheets near the twenty-five thousand money earlier. Then, he stepped into the front room to clean the table and arrange a messy chair.
After finishing washing the dishes and putting them together in the place of the dishes, Rania saw the money that the mother of the owner of the restaurant intentionally left behind. Rania grabs the money, arranges it and folds it neatly and steps up to the mother.
"Oh, I'm done washing the dishes. Oh yes ma'am, I found this money near the dish shelf, I think I forgot to put it." Put money on that mother.
He smiled, then took the money to say what it was.
Rania sat waiting while holding her stomach which was already very sore.
"The only food left is this, ma'am. Sorry it's not worth the work of washing so many dishes."
"Thank you, buk." Rania directly devoured the food. He did not care about anything else, right now he would only focus on eating because it was already very hungry. Seeing how greedy Rania ate, the mother felt pity. He brought a glass of hot tea and a glass of water to Rania.
"Thank you buk." Rania's eyes were glazed with glass, she was moved and felt compassion for herself.
"Whose name is mbak?" She sat in the front seat of Rania.
"Rania, bb. But, if I may, I'll just call me Nia." Further.
"Can. But, deck Nia should call me by the name of mbak Dila only, how?"
"Mbak Dila!" Rania's Birthday.
The middle-aged woman named Dila preferred to be called mbak, because she wanted to make Rania as a replacement for her dead sister.
"Dek Nia wants to work here?"
Rania stopped chewing when she heard the question she really wanted to hear.
"I want to mbak.but, I have no place to stay."
"Dek Nia can stay here. Back there is a room that is special for workers here. But, ever since my sister died, I decided not to hire any more workers. So, the room's empty."
Rania stared at the end there, see the door that was meant by the room by Mr. Dila.
"I'll work hard, ma'am." Rania lowered her head slightly to thank him.
Dila smiled happily. Now he feels there is a replacement for his sister. Seeing Rania makes a sense of longing for her late sister treated.
