Unbeknownst to my parents, I filled out and collected the scholarship application form given by Ms. Nia yesterday. Forms consisting of personal data, family data, and other supporting documents have been collected into one document. Online registration is also done to increase the chances of entering the College or University that I want. There are still some documents that are not complete and can follow at a later time.
"This is ma'am, the scholarship application form was yesterday but there's an incomplete document." I handed the documents to Nia's mother.
Nia's mother took the documents and looked at the documents she had collected. "This remains a certificate of not being able to from the village and a letter of recommendation from the school that has not. For a letter of recommendation from the school, I can help you register. For certificate of not being able you can take care of it at any time, it can be in school hours as long as it is not the time of the exam you can get permission to go home first."
"Good ma'am, oh yes Aida wants to apply for a scholarship as well ma'am," I conveyed Aida's message regarding her desire to get a scholarship as well.
"Take to the counseling guidance room I wait for." Nia's mother asks Aida to the counseling guidance room.
"Yes mom, thank you. I'm welcome back to class."
"Silahka's." Answer Nia's Mother.
After collecting the form I headed to the classroom to meet Aida. Since I was in class at this time, I decided to pass on Mother Nia's message to Aida at the break.
....
Cring... Cring..
The clock shows at 10:00, the school bell has rung means that the break has arrived. All students are scattered out of class to the cafeteria, field, bathroom, or to other places in the school environment. Aida was apparently going to rush to the canteen.
"Dadam!" I called Aida and stopped her steps.
"Where are you going?" I asked Aida.
"I'm going to the cafeteria, my stomach worm is struggling to eat chicken noodles." Aida replied with a smile while stroking her thin stomach tana fill.
"Say you're hungry don't let the worms in your stomach be an excuse to buy chicken noodles. You are called Ms. Nia, she said she was asked immediately to the counseling guidance room."
"Godum!" Aida was surprised and she came to me.
"Seriously, what's wrong?" With a serious face Aida was confused as to why she was asked to the counseling guidance room.
"Say you want to apply for a scholarship, you are asked to the counseling room to fill out the application form." I explained Aida's intention and purpose to be asked to the counseling guidance room by Ms. Nia.
"Say from earlier that the scholarship business, I think I want to be in the same court with Ms. Nia." Aida sulked and pouted in annoyance.
"Have not frowned, there quickly to the counseling guidance room." I pulled Aida from my seat and pushed her out of the classroom to meet Nia's mother.
"I'm waiting in the cafeteria!" I shouted from the front of the class to be heard by Aida because Aida was already heading to the counseling guidance room.
....
I ordered chicken noodles as usual. Why the food is always chicken noodles, actually in the cafeteria a lot of food and many other menus are available. For example: meatballs, catfish pecel, lalapan, spicy claw, pentol, cilung, or other foods. But my favorite food is chicken noodles, especially if it is super spicy and chicken claw topping, very steady and very appetizing.
While waiting for Aida to come out of the counseling guidance room I finished the food I ordered first. The menu this time is accompanied by pilus which increases appetite when the stomach is empty.
"Heyyy" Aida surprised me from behind. I was eating and enjoying chicken noodles unconsciously choked.
Uhuk.. Uhukkc..
"Hhhh this is a drink!" Aida picked up the ice glass I ordered.
"Aida, you can slow down." I was annoyed by Aida's laugh that was very satisfied laughing seeing me suffer.
"Sorry, I got the scholarship application form. This is you see!" Aida took out a paper and showed it to me.
"Alhamdulillah, oh yes the documents I submitted are still lacking a certificate of inadequacy from the village. You how? Is it there or not?" I asked while continuing to eat the rest of the chicken noodles.
"I haven't either, how about it?" Instead of giving a definite answer Aida actually asked back.
"Bungle too if it's like this. Tomorrow we're free no hours of lessons. How about tomorrow after the dhuha prayer and teach us permission to the village to take care of the certificate of not being able to." I expressed my opinion to Aida.
"Can, but we go to the village I used to go to your village so it doesn't go back and forth.
"May your opinion just assume we're taking a walk." I agree with Aida.
"Gass."
We laughed happily today, instantly forgetting for a moment the problems we were facing. Understandably we are not from a conglomerate family that has a lot of treasures and facilities that are very luxurious. To eat a bowl of chicken noodles we have to save money on gasoline and pocket money, even sometimes we bring food supplies if it is a financial crisis.
Private scholarships or scholarships from the government are very valuable for us, especially if you can get a full scholarship until the final semester, things that can only be imagined but will soon become a reality.
Scholarships are financial assistance provided to individuals who aim to be used for the sustainability of education taken. Scholarships can be awarded by government agencies, companies or foundations. Scholarships can be categorized as either free or work-related awards (commonly called official ties) after the completion of education. The length of the bond varies, depending on the institution that provides the scholarship. Murniasih (2009) divides scholarships into award scholarships, aid scholarships, athletic scholarships, as well as full scholarships. (Source:Wikipedia)
Maybe for people who are wealthy or categorized as able to scholarship is very worthless and can even be underestimated. But for the people of the lower economy, the scholarship is certainly very valuable. Scholarships with little value for middle-income and upper-income economies are very large for lower-income economies.
There is no shame in doing what we do well and not harming others. As long as there is an opportunity to do it, it all depends on the process. If we mean it as hard as it is, the road will be easy to walk.
The most valuable motivation for me and Aida is the economic condition of our family which is often underestimated by society and the degree of both our parents who are considered inappropriate if they have children who can take higher education. I don't know that Aida and I can just stand still and try to prove that children from the lower classes can also go to college and succeed in the future.
