The smell of drugs greatly disturbs my smell. I tried to collect my life. I blinked my eyes, adjusting to the light trying to penetrate in.
"Ugh." So pain felt on my left shoulder. I started to remember what happened.
"Dear you're awake?" I'm glad I have Richard. I remember Richard crying.
"Have I been in heaven?"
"Sorry baby, it looks like you're stuck in hell with me." Richard answered my joke.
I could see Richard's face falling apart. Fine hairs began to grow on his face, but he always kept his face smooth without a beard and mustache.
The clothes are still the same as the last I saw and there are even blood stains. "Of you look terrible."
"I even thought of catching up with you, baby. I'll call a doctor." Richard pressed the green button next to the bed.
"Where's Angel?" I didn't see Angel in my nursery.
"He's with Marlin, honey. Don't worry."
The doctor came with two nurses. They checked my situation thoroughly. The doctor also examined my stomach which made me remember my womb.
"Appa, is baby okay?" I don't know why I feel like there's anything weird about me.
Richard who was sitting on the edge of the branch now moved to lie next to me. Hugged my shoulder and gave me a kiss on my forehead. Long kisses, I feel bad.
"Dear, I'm sorry. The doctor can't save our baby." he said.
I heard what Richard said, but somehow my brain was so slow to digest it.
"Where's what? I don't understand."
"The doctor said you lost a lot of blood." Richard paused his talk, hugged me tighter. Feeling more comfortable and calm after leaning his head on his shoulders, "Baby was deprived of oxygen, baby So Baby was gone by the time we got to the hospital."
Nothing came out of my mouth just tears that started to wet my cheeks. "I'm sorry, honey. If I hadn't shot you." I know Richard was sorry.
I nodded, it's not his fault. I know he just wants to save me.
We hugged each other in silence. Only the sound of my sobbing filled the nursery.
"I'm sorry, honey. If I said I didn't shoot you." Richard's voice shook with his cry.p
"Don't blame yourself, Appa. Baby is not our fortune. If God did believe we could be good parents, there would be another baby that He would leave us with."
"Let's cry today. Tomorrow we have to be stronger for Angel and our other child-to-be." I tighten my arms. She wrapped Richard's shirt with tears.
Hugging his sturdy arm, made me feel comfortable. "Appa, I've never seen you wield a gun before."
"It's been a long time since I've shot."
"I've never seen you fight before either."
"What do you want to ask, dear? A hum?" Richard guessed my mind well.
"I think you're just a businessman, but you're not. From the way you shot I'm sure you've been trained. So Appa, who are you?" this time the question does not use direct to the point muters.
Richard threw his breath into the air, it seemed like he did not want to tell this part of his life to anyone. But I don't care. I sat down and waited for Richard to answer.
"I was one of Paulo Rivera's men when I was in Italy" he said carefully.
"Papa's men?"
"Paulo took me from an orphanage in Busan. The children in the waiting were very deficient because they did not have donors." There was a small smile on Richard's lips as he told it
"Then?"
"I was ten at the time, the oldest in the house. Of course we're happy, honey. We can go to Italy. There we were well schooled, trained in martial arts and shooting."
"So you know Uwak?"
"certain. Who doesn't know Madin Anthonio Gustav?" I hit Richard's arm.
"Why have you never told a story before? Ish this world is so narrow." I let go of Richard's hand, instead of crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"Darling, I promised I wouldn't hold a gun anymore. Paulo wanted us all to live a normal life like everyone else after I met Rosaline. She doesn't want her son to have a hard life like her, Mrs Alessia and your mama."
"Life in the black world is not easy. But it turns out that this kid's already in it." Richard poked my nose.
"Blame the uwak who dragged me in." I pouted not Accept.
"He just wants to protect you. He wants you to take good care of yourself, baby. Madin does a lot of good things here. Different from the time in Italy."
"Yes you're right, Appa." I hugged his arm back and leaned his head on his broad shoulders. "Appa, I miss Angel."
"I'll see it. If I could I'd move his room here." I nodded in agreement.
" Alana Saranghae. Don't say you're leaving me." Richard is melow. "I won't be able to survive." Richard leaned his head over my head.
"I love you too, Appa."
