THE POOR LIFE

            Adrian sat looking up at the sky. Beside him was a box containing his belongings in the office which he had to take home. Anyone who sees how Adrian looks at the moment, can certainly guess if Adrian has just been fired from his office after five years of work.

            Huft!! Adrian sighed imagining his life all along. How did I get to this point?? Adrian's mind rotates all the events of his life briefly. Until eight years ago, Adrian's life was still fine. Adrian who is an only child lives happily with his parents. Adrian family economy can be said to be quite more when compared with most people. Adrian's father is a businessman in the field of transportation while Adrian's mother runs a family-owned business, a restaurant that is quite famous and a hereditary heritage.

            Adrian eight years ago never imagined his happiness would disappear when his father became involved with a seductress who tricked him into dredging his fortune. Thanks to the woman .. Adrian's father's business then went bankrupt because of the operating money taken Adrian's father to meet the request of the seductress. Not stopping there, the seductress used the name of Adrian's father to deceive many people under the pretext of investment and made Adrian's father have to give up many of his assets to pay the debts.

            Luckily ... Adrian's mother still has efforts to support Adrian's family and school. Unfortunately not enough to make a big problem and as if not feel guilty for his actions, Adrian's father was involved with gambling that made Adrian's father back in debt and loan sharks often come to Adrian's house. Too often faced with loan sharks who come violently, the business of Adrian's mother has decreased until finally no one wants to come to the restaurant Adrian's mother. Adrian's mother's last attempt was to sell her restaurant in order to repay Adrian's father's debt.

            After seeing the sacrifice of his wife who gave up the hereditary business of his family, Adrian's father was still not deterred. Adrian's father continued to gamble and continued to add to his debt. Adrian's mother, unable to deal with the madness of Adrian's father and his judge, later suffered a stroke and had to undergo treatment because some parts of his body were paralyzed. Adrian, unable to see his mother's condition, sells the last asset on his mother's behalf and her mother's jewelry for her mother's medical expenses and daily needs. A year after college, Adrian worked to and fro to earn money until finally accepted to work in a prestigious company. Five years later, Adrian's job should be able to meet his needs and the treatment of his mother. But Adrian's father who continued gambling and accumulating debt made Adrian's salary was never enough. For three years, Adrian tried to pay his father's debts. But the next two years, Adrian who felt very tired chose to no longer pay endless debts.

            Adrian avoids his father and thanks to it. Adrian's father continues to terrorize Adrian both at home and in the office. During those two years, Adrian was fortunate enough to have an understanding boss for continuing to help him when his father terrorized his office. But after two years, the kind-hearted boss was moved and the new boss disliked Adrian.

            Huft!!! Adrian took another breath. Benak Adrian has finished rotating the entire life of Adrian where he began to experience misfortune to the misfortune that continues to come without stopping.

            Test, test!! The rain starts to fall. Adrian raised his head and smiled at the sky which was now dark because of cloudiness. It seems ... the sky heard my complaint today.

            Test, test!! The rain is getting worse and worse. Adrian, who was supposed to go to find shelter and save his belongings, sat in his place and let the rain fall on him. For today ... I want to cry!! Along with the rain that fell, Adrian weeps for his misfortune that feels will never end.

            A week later.

            “You've got papa, Adrian??”

            In between his work as a courier, Adrian took the time to visit his mother. Adrian came with his mother's favorite fruit: oranges.

            “Adrian no papa, Mom.  The day after he was fired, Adrian was immediately able to work as a courier from Adrian's friend first, Mom. I don't need to think about Adrian. I'm quite medicated and healed again.”

            “Is it better to just get out of here, Adrian?? Hospital fee is expensive.”

            Adrian clearly saw the look in the eyes of his mother who felt sad and sorry just because it was a burden for him. It's not the first time Adrian has felt his mother's feelings. But ... It's better for her mother to be in the hospital. Adrian feels calmer when working and feels safe because this place will not be visited by his father.

            “No papa, Mom!! Adrian salary as a courier is not as big as office work, but still enough to pay for Mother's treatment and our daily needs.” Adrian clasped his mother's hand so that her mother would no longer feel anxious and worried about him. “Trust same Adrian, Bu.”

            Not wanting to feel his mother continues to feel anxious with him, Adrian then quickly returned to work and deliver the goods he had to deliver.

            “Package!!”

            One house, two houses, three houses.

            Within a day, Adrian came to a hundred houses to deliver the package where he now works. And without Adrian knowing the sun that had accompanied him to work, now it has disappeared and the sky has turned dark.

            Huft!!! Ckitt! Adrian stopped his motorbike in the city park and sat looking at the crowd and the lights of the city. Glup, glup. Adrian drank his mineral water and rested for a while after a day of touring. In front of Adrian a couple looks past Adrian and makes Adrian can only lower his head.

            I. .. will never have time to do that. Glup, glup! Adrian drinks the water again while his mind keeps reminding him of the burden he is carrying. Who would want to walk the same way as a man like me: many dependents, a sick mother and a gambling father complete with debts that accumulate? Only a crazy woman would walk around and have a boyfriend like me.

            Glup, glup. Adrian drank up, got up from his seat and prepared to go home. Broom!! Adrian starts the engine, but suddenly there is a woman standing in front of Adrian's motorbike.

            “Sorry, Ma'am! Excuse me, I'm going through!!”

            The woman looked in wonder at Adrian while pointing at herself as if confused because Adrian was talking to her. “I?? Did you talk to me?”

            “Yes, Ma'am. Same Ma'am. Who else do you think is here??”

            After making sure Adrian was talking to him, the woman stepped aside slightly to make way and Adrian pulled the gas on the steering wheel of his bike.

            Strange woman!! From his rearview mirror Adrian glanced back where the woman should be seen standing. But ... from the rearview mirror, Adrian actually saw the woman with a terrible face like female ghosts in the film. Uhuk!! Damnit damnit!! Adrian cursed because he realized the woman was not an ordinary woman but a female ghost. Damn it today!! What dream did I meet last night???
