NAUGHTY WIFE GUS HANDSOME

NAUGHTY WIFE GUS HANDSOME
The Threat of Papa

***

"Waalaikumsalam," said Alira also Mr. Sadewa almost simultaneously.

Mr. Sadewa Kurdi smiled kindly to see who came, as well as Gus Irham who approached and grabbed the hands of his future father-in-law and then put them on his face. Alira wondered why the man she did not know was greeting her papa.

"What's up, Om?" ask Gus Irham.

"Alhamdulillah, Om, well. How is it with your ummimu?" Mr. Sadewa asked back.

"Alhamdulillah too, they send greetings to you, Om. They're sorry they couldn't look, Om, now."

"It's okay to see you Om's happy."

Alira was still stunned to see a different generation of men in front of her who looked very familiar like friends who had not met for a long time. Who exactly is that man?

A myriad of questions filled Alira's brain until it felt like her head was about to explode.

"Alira," called Mr. Sadewa, Alira gasped and turned to her papa.

"I-iya, Pah," said Alira stuttering.

"This is Nak Irham, your future husband."

"W-what? Ca-prospective husband of Alira?"

Both of Alira's eyes became more and more rounded to hear what her papa had just said.

***

I don't know how many times Alira glanced at the handsome man sitting across the table from her. The man who a while ago almost put him in jail for bumping into people.

"I don't want to get married, lo!" alira again.

They are now in the hospital cafeteria after Mr. Sadewa introduced them and also told Alira that Gus Irham was her future husband. Alira could not refuse anymore because she had promised to obey her papa, but at least she still had hope of canceling the match if the man refused.

Gus Irham had only been silent since then without making the slightest comment, his two eyes staring down. Yes, his arrival to Jakarta is to fulfill the orders of his brother to meet his best friend and also his future wife.

"Woi! Lo budeg huh? Not what am I talking about?"

The young blood of Alira was boiling because she had been blabbering since then, but this man before her did not hear her at all. He talks to people but feels like talking to a wall.

Gus Irham sighed before then raising his face, looked at Alira for a moment then turned his gaze around. Many people who were eating were now looking towards the two of them. Maybe in their minds they are thinking if he is being scolded by his wife.

"Can't, don't say it out loud. You don't see those guys on looking towards us?"

Suddenly Alira turned to her left right and instantly her face that was crimson with anger turned pale with embarrassment.

"Why didn't you say that?" I want Alira out of there right now. It could be that almost all visitors who were eating now pay attention to the two of them. Wanna put it where he tried?

Gus Irham smiled to see the face of Alira who was originally jutek now turned as red as a tomato.

'A unique girl' he thought.

A sudden state of silence, Alira had completely lost face this time. It could be that he was not aware of being a free spectacle. Alira felt awkward now, not knowing what to do fortunately there was a waiter who came to serve the order so it helped Alira a little from embarrassment.

After eating Gus Irham drove Alira to the door where Mr. Sadewa was being treated and then went to the mosque to perform worship.

"Huh? Prayer?" Alira answered. He forgot when he last prayed, maybe while still Junior High.

"Oh, I'm sorry to go to the hall first I'll be here again."

Alira stared at the back of the man who was going to be her husband until he disappeared behind the wall. He felt that they would never be compatible with Gus Irham, they were so different as heaven and earth.

Alira then entered.

"Here son, sit down by Papah!" His ink waved, Alira according to with a very lethargic face. "How did you talk to Irham? She okay? Show it? Shole again."

Mr. Sadewa poked Alira with questions, he was so enthusiastic to hear Alira's comments about his future son-in-law.

Alira turned her lips forward. "I don't think we'll fit in, Pah."

Mr. Sadewa's forehead shriveled at the words of his daughter. "What doesn't fit? Nak Irham is the most suitable person to be your husband. He's a sholeh boy, diligent worship, less what else?" Mr. Sadewa began to raise the intonation of his voice.

"It's precisely because we are not suitable let alone he is a 'Gus', yes 'Gus' has a wife like Alikan is not possible, Pah?" alira's real pretext is just an excuse for the matchmaking to be cancelled.

"It is precisely that Papah betrothed you to him. Anyway Papah doesn't want to hear your excuses anymore. You should stay married to Gus Irham or would you rather see Papah die?" threaten Mr. Sadewa.

"Well, why did Papah say that anyway?"

"You refused to marry Gus Irham."

Alira lowered her face, she was really confused as to what to do. On the one hand he is not ready to get married, on the other hand he feels unworthy to be with a child kyai.

According to him, Gus Irham fits with the calm and religious Asya. Who is she who can't do anything, teach, pray only she rarely where pantes become the wife of a 'Gus'? Alira thinks her papa is wrong to choose a mate for her.

Seeing Alira silent Mr. Sadewa spoke again. "It's better if Papah dies now." Mr. Sadewa removed the breathing apparatus as well as a syringe that stuck in his wrist, but before that happened Alira first prevented it.

Alira hugged her papa so as not to do that.

"Bah, no! What do you want to do?" Alira starts sobbing while continuing to hug the rebellious Mr. Sadewa for Alira to take it off, but Alira ignores. He hugged the papa even more tightly.

"Father wants to follow your mama." He said while getting rid of Alira who was preventing him.

"Bah, don't be so sure, Alira loves Papah. Alira does not want to lose Papah" he said sobbing.

Mr. Sadewa smiled, actually he was just pretending that Alira would accept being betrothed to Gus Irham. He knew Alira loved him very much and would never want to lose him.

"You want to get married to Irham?"

Alira is silent, she is still confused to determine the answer between assuring or rejecting.

"You want to marry Gus Irham?" repeated papa.

Alira let go of the embrace, looked at the man who had already raised her then nodded slowly. "Yes, Alira wants to get married if it makes Papah happy."

Maybe now is the time for Alira to repay the services of a man who has been willing to take care of him with affection all this time, although for that he must bury deeply his ideals to become a career woman.

"Thank you, you are a very obedient child. Papa is sure you will be happy to be Gus Irham's wife. Gus Irham will definitely be a good husband for you."

Alira forced a smile even though in her heart she doubted if she could happily marry someone she did not love, especially with a stranger she had only known a few hours ago.
