GHOST ROOT

The boy had no other choice. Inevitably, he still had to get away from the Wuxian road, even though it was very heavy. However, he also had no right to stop Wuxian who for him, he was a nobody.

Wuxian continued his steps with both hands clenched tightly.

“Hey, are you stupid! What are you going to do by going like that? Who are you looking for and whose revenge you have given it some thought?  Only a fool would take action like you are right now,” said the boy, in hopes of persuading Wuxian once more.

The boy's words reflexively stopped Wuxian's steps for a moment. Wuxian listened to the boy's words, until he finished speaking.

“Are you done talking? Right, I'm a fool. A fool like me cares more about actions and acts without thinking. I'm a fool, not like a smart one like you. Think about strategy before acting. I can't, because it's not me who can do all that,” replied Wuxian.

“I can help you!” tusky.

“You don't have to do all that. Anyway, what's going to happen to me, what's the deal with you? I hope after this, we don't have to see each other again. There is no debt whatsoever between us!” tusky.

Wuxian parted ways with the child she met, not knowing what her name was. While the boy was forced to let Wuxian choose his way, even though he knew that the path Wuxian took would be very dangerous because of the absence of preparation.

“Already. Let him choose the path he wants. Why am I worrying so much about him. After what happened to her, I'm sure if she will be stronger than before, her inner”.

On the other hand, Wuxian who just left the child even turned around to worry about his safety. Wuxian promised if he would treat his injuries. However, something happened and made him forget what he promised.

“Will he be okay? I left him like that with a severely injured condition,” muttered Wuxian who was also worried about him. Suddenly... “Aaaaaa!!! Help!!!” Wuxian lost focus and paid no attention to his path.

He did not know that in front of him was the abyss. He slipped, fortunately he swiftly grabbed a strand of tree roots that were nearby.

“Please! Help me!” Wuxian asked anyone for help and wished anyone could help him. ‘Stupid! I was stupid. Asking for help in the middle of the wilderness is foolish. Argh! Who cares? After all I was stupid,’ her inner self. “Please! Help me!!” wuxian shouted, once again asking for help to anyone who could hear his voice.

Wuxian remained clinging to a tree root dangling into the wall of the ravine. Wuxian tried to climb the root, but somehow the more he climbed, the tree root became more elongated. He had just discovered that there was a strange tree root like that. Wuxian could only survive, because he could not climb it. His palm slowly heated up as he had to withstand the weight of his body.

Surprisingly, something powerful suddenly possessed him. It was like a supernatural power or an alien aura that slowly flowed into his blood and made him even weaker.

“Please!!” Wuxian shouted once more, because that was his only hope.

“It seems, I heard something,” muttered someone. Out of curiosity, he walked to the source of the voice he heard.

As he got closer and the sound stopped, he got someone hanging on the edge of the abyss. Seeing that, he immediately helped her to help him, without thinking of anything. However, when he realized that the more he pulled the root of the tree, the longer the root of the tree.

“Bad! This is the root of the Thousand meter Ghost tree,” he murmured.

Because he thought that if helping him with the root would harm him even more, then, he was looking for something else to help him. He looked for other creeping plants that he felt strong to withstand heavy loads.

When he felt someone down there had wiggled the vines he was pulling down, he tried hard to help pull him up.

When it had succeeded, he was very surprised to find out who he had just helped.

“You... Wuxian!”

“Oh, it turns out you're the injured boy. Thanks... yes.” Wuxian collapsed suddenly.

When he saw Wuxian pass out, he quickly checked his condition.

“Not good. As I expected, he was poisoned by the roots of the thousand meter Ghost tree. This stupid boy! Just left, it's been like this. Really makes people worry only!” He shouted at Wuxian who had fainted in his embrace.

Then, the boy leaned on the body of Wuxian who was nearby. Then, he picked potluck herbs, which if able to neutralize the toxins in the body Wuxian.

When he finished, he leaned his body beside Wuxian. He was really tired because he had just saved Wuxian from a steep cliff that looked dark from above.

‘Newly this time I helped someone. It seems like it feels pretty proud. No wonder Mom and Dad prefer to put others first, rather than themselves. Dad, Mom, I miss you,’ inwardly. “You're aware?” he asked when he saw Wuxian slowly opening his eyes.

“You.... You helped me?” wuxian asked with a consciousness that was still not intact.

“Of course. Who else can help you but me? The ghost that was in the tree root earlier?” chirping.

“True, so strange. Why did the tree root get longer when I pulled it?” thought Wuxian.

“You may not know. It was the root of the Ghost tree a thousand meters away,” he explained.

“Ghost Tree of a thousand meters? I just heard it. A pretty unique name. Are there ghosts guarding the tree?” asked Wuxian innocently.

“I don't know that either. Merely, some had once said, a thousand meter Ghost tree was a tree that was said to be sacred. The person who first touched it could have been lucky, or bad luck,” he explained.

“Ahh. What happened to me was bad luck. How could I possibly slip into that abyss if I accidentally stumbled on the root of that tree,” wuxian chirped.

Huang Chao blinked his eyes when he heard Wuxian's words that seemed to dodge something that had just happened to him.

“Why do you blame the tree? You should be more careful when walking. It's very reckless. After you left like that, I was always worried if something happened to you. It turns out not too long ago, something really happened to you,” he replied.
