Not Just a Sugar Daddy

Not Just a Sugar Daddy
CHAPTERS. 2 Want to Change Destiny

Edwin opened his eyes when he felt movement next to him. Mona was coming down from the bed with her hands tied her hair up. Edwin saw that the wall clock was still at 05:00 in the morning.

"Where are you going, honey, it's still morning?" edwin asked after sitting down his body.

Mona looked up, then smiled.

"Don't you forget that this morning I'm going to Medan? I haven't packed a shirt."

Mona rushed to the wardrobe and took the suitcase out of it. Edwin smiled wryly, apparently Mona was really going to go to Medan when last night they argued because the woman was always busy with her work.

Edwin got out of bed and walked over to the wife who was choosing clothes for him to bring. Edwin hugged Mona from behind, pecked at the woman's nape and placed his chin over the wife's shoulder.

Mona grabbed Edwin's face with her left hand, turned her head and smiled. "Why?" askanya with the right hand still moving to take the clothes hung on the hanger.

"I don't want you to go" said Edwin.

"We've discussed this yes, Mas, and I will still go to Medan," Mona said.

Edwin moved his chin away from Mona's shoulder, snorted bitterly and sat in the front seat of the dressing table. Mona continued to choose clothes, took some clothes hanging there and brought them closer to the suitcase that she had opened on the carpet.

"What time does the plane leave?" edwin asked, watching Mona fold her clothes and put them in her suitcase.

"It's 08:00 in the morning, ma'am, but by 07:00 I should've been there."

"I'll take you, we'll leave at 06:00" Edwin said.

"No need, Mas, I can go alone, later my car let my assistant take it," Mona refused.

This is the nature of Mona that Edwin does not like, Mona is too independent so does not need help from anyone including Edwin her husband. Edwin felt like a useless man because he had never done anything for his wife.

"But I want to drive you, Mona, before you leave we can spend some time together first including breakfast together."

Mona chuckles. "Not that we always have breakfast together, you talk like that as if we never had breakfast together" he said while shaking his head.

"I'm gone for just one week, baby, don't worry I'm not back, next week I'm home" she said.

"It's up to you." Edwin who was lazy to argue chose to give up. He went into the bathroom and cleaned up there.

While Mona was seemingly ordinary, she kept folding the clothes she was about to bring and stuffed them into the suitcase.

In the bathroom, Edwin flushed his body under the shower, his eyes closed, his head looked up to let the shower fall directly on his face.

Until when he must feel this, pain is not prioritized by his wife, pain is not needed by the wife, pain awaits the presence of the baby in his marriage.

Seeing his friends who already have children, of course Edwin felt jealous to have children but the wife who always put it off.

Finished with his bath Edwin rushed out. He saw the wife had taken a bath and neatly, apparently the woman took a bath in the next room. Mona was sitting at the dresser, polishing her face a little, then approached Edwin who was dressed.

"I'm leaving, Mas" said Mona, on her tiptoes a little and kissed Edwin's lips at a glance.

"I delivered to the front of the house" said Edwin.

Edwin nodded, continuing to button up the shirt he was wearing, letting Mona pull her own suitcase out of the room.

The sound of Mona's car heard in Edwin's ear made the man step onto the balcony to see the wife's car driving through the gate of the house.

Edwin went back into the room, picked up his phone on the nightstand and typed a message for his wife.

'Be careful on the road, baby. Let me know when I get there."

The message was sent, Edwin put his phone in his pants pocket, exhaled rough breaths, picked up the briefcase and walked out of the room.

Edwin went to his restaurant where it was the restaurant that had been credited with making himself a rich man.

The Hamara restaurant, its name, has 5 floors with various equipment in it. The first floor is for general visitors, the second floor private room and VIP room are located, the third floor is a special area for formal events such as weddings, reunions or other celebrations. And the fourth floor of the restaurant management area.

Edwin founded the restaurant 12 years ago where he and Mona were not married. The restaurant, which was originally a restaurant, has now become a 5-star restaurant and has branches in several other cities. All of this requires a process that is not easy.

Edwin used to work as a marketing staff at PT. Darwin Properties. Each time he set aside his income to save, building Hamara's restaurant. After marrying Mona, Edwin still worked as a staff while taking care of his restaurant business.

Hamara's Restaurant grew in popularity and Edwin changed his name to Restorant Hamara by building a 4-story building for the restaurant.

Edwin just resigned to work as a marketing staff 5 years ago and focused on taking care of his business that has grown.

Drrt.. Drrt..

Edwin, who was checking the retention data of restaurant visitors, immediately stopped his activities, reached into his cell phone and saw who contacted him.

'My Beautiful Wife'

Mona makes a vidio call, Edwin smiles then shifts the green button. The video call was connected and featured Mona's face sitting in the airport lobby.

"I've arrived at the airport, Mas, my assistant will drive home" Mona told Edwin.

The smile on Edwin's face instantly disappeared, apparently Mona contacted him just to let him know if his assistant would drive the car home.

"What time did you drive the car? I've been restored."

"So my car's been taken maybe not long until home."

"I'll call the waiter to save your car keys."

"Thank you, Mum. Yes I turned off the video call yes, this has been asked to go on the plane immediately. Later when I reach Medan I will tell you again" said Mona.

"Yes." Yeah."

Vidio's call is over. Edwin got up from his seat, walked to the rooftop restaurant and stood there, staring at the sky that seemed bright exposed to the sun just a few hours out.

For almost ten years of marriage this is what he felt, unhappiness. Edwin wanted to turn this unhappiness into happiness for him. Happy to be with the woman he loves and also loves, to have a baby that he looks forward to.

But ... can Edwin change that?
