Pang Sagoe, Make me your Wife!!!

Pang Sagoe, Make me your Wife!!!
Jalan Pang Sagoe...

A man daydreams on the porch of a house far enough from where he used to be. The man with the thick sideburns repeatedly rubbed his wet eyes because of the loss of the companion who had been accompanying him. It has been a year since it happened but he has not been able to forget Teuku Muhammad Ilham.

Now he serves as Pang Sagoe the successor of his best friend. Although heavy but their struggle should not be stopped after the departure of Ilham. Instead they are more eager to avenge the death of their commander.

“Bang, here's the coffee.”

“Em,” reply.

“Abang still thinking of Bang Ilham?” wet eyes stared at the wife he had been married for almost a year. Khalid married Halimah when he was on the run when he learned that Pang Sagoe had died. Halimah's house is in an outback village where she is hiding. Halimah's parents were so kind to her that she was asked to marry him. Khalid immediately approved it. He can't go anywhere now. The death of Pang Sagoe was the heaviest blow for them until in the months after that they lost their way.

“Abang will not be calm if you have not met his sister. There is a trust that you must fulfill.” This time Khalid looked at Halimah with an illegible look.

“Abang promises to marry his sister. Would you be willing if for example one day you married again?” Like being struck by lightning, Halimah's chest felt tight when she heard the words directly from her husband's mouth.

The woman shook her head with a forced smile, “Lima willingly, Bang.” Sluggishly.

“Abang will tell people to pick him up and bring him to headquarters. Get ready, we'll go back to headquarters and you'll meet him there.”

Halimah immediately went back inside and her tears immediately spilled in her mother's arms. Halimah told me about the sadness of her heart while holding back tears. The mother just sighed, “Umi could not do anything. May you face this problem. We didn't know your husband had an appointment with his friend. If Umi found out earlier, maybe you won't marry her. Now leave! Follow your husband because you love him too.”

In the days that followed, Sagoe Village was in an uproar when Cut and Teuku disappeared. Khalid's men had taken them away from his village. Cut resignedly walked through the forest following a couple who became a rebel spy. Cut does not know who the mastermind of his kidnapping is until he arrives at the headquarters and meets their leader who turns out to be a friend of the late Ilham.

The wedding day arrives even though Cut is against it. He and Halimah were brought down to Halimah village. In Halimah's modest home, Cut is prepared to marry Khalid. Cut told Halimah's parents many things until unexpected events occurred. Cut and his nephew suddenly disappeared from there without a trace. The rebels searched for him all over but unfortunately for a few days, the woman had not been found.

Until finally, the attack of government officials to the village made the rebels forced to retreat due to limited weapons and personnel. Finally, Cut and Teuku, hidden by Halimah's mother, are found in a weakened state due to a lack of fluid in the earthen pit behind Halimah's parents' house.

The discovery of Cut became bad news for Halimah. The beloved husband was angry to vent to her. Halima who ran away with her husband suffered a lot because Khalid often hit him. He also missed his parents who were taken by the military that night. Khalid became so obsessed with Cut Zulaikha that with all the information and the way he returned to Cut's whereabouts until the time the woman left her place now and moved to the provincial capital.

Khalid leaves Halimah to search for Cut's whereabouts until he finds the girl and begins to watch her from afar. Until an incident makes Cut's life disturbed and when the girl is in a mental hospital, Khalid immediately moves in disguise as a nurse and takes Cut to an island without anyone knowing. The day turns month, Cut begins to heal but his views on Khalid have not changed. The woman still hated Khalid until she realized that Cut's heart would never belong to her.

Cut was escorted back to the provincial capital and immediately interrogated by the military because the one who kidnapped Cut is the most wanted person in Aceh today. Muhammad Khalid was suspected of having an invisible science that made it difficult to be caught. In fact, he can freely walk in front of the military without fear of being caught thanks to prayers that he often chanted.

Six months of hiding in the wilderness, Khalid finally had to surrender. He was shot and breathed his last while the new wife was giving birth. When his son was born, Khalid went to the divine. Khalid could not fulfill his promise to Ilham to keep Cut Zulaikha but he was happy because Ilham's wish was fulfilled that Cut marry an ordinary man instead of a soldier.

In his hiding place, he saw Inspiration several times. “Comeout! We'll go together this time.”

Whether it's a dream or a hallucination. That day Khalid came out of his hiding place with the last remaining bullet he had.

Dor..

Dor..

Dor..

The frail body was hit by hot lead and sprawled on the spot. Wives and people who inhabited the island could only cry at the end of the life of Muhammad Khalid, the warlord who succeeded in the position of Pang Sagoe.

Khalid chose to go alone to meet Ilham, He did not bring a wife or children. She left them as widows and orphans. Khalid left quietly, “Your sister has married a doctor, Ham. I have fulfilled my promise. Now it's time for me to go see you.”

In the darkness of the night, Pang Sagoe stopped down the endless road in front of him. He left all responsibility to the living in the hope that they would win this war. Who knows? Hope must still be nurtured to awaken the warrior soul from within each youth.

The sun began to rise when the body of the commander was put into a burrow. His departure was accompanied by cries from family and people who had been receiving and seeing his kindness. A glorious death for those who fought on the battlefield.

True war will only leave wounds and tears for those who have a role in it. The pain will be a special memory for those who feel it. Hopefully no more wars will occur as in Aceh in the past. Suffice Aceh to be a learning for all those who still think everything can be solved with weapons.
