Chapters 10. The Hospital (2)

Dr. Bradley welcomed his guests with a smile on his face.

"Please sit down, sir."

"Thank you, Doc." Conley pulled up a chair on the inside of the doctor's room, Emma followed and sat down next to Conley.

"Just go ahead, Master." Dr. Bradley then showed the results of a CT Scan of Daniella through a computer screen behind her.

"So, this is a CT scan of the head of Daniella's patient. In this picture, it looks a bright white color on the back of the head, this is blood clumping. This is likely due to a hard impact on the back of the head. These blood clots that cause the most pain felt by the patient."

"So, how's Doc, a way to get the blood out of my daughter's head?" Conley asked with a worried expression.

"We will try to give liquid medicine to thin the blood that clots. During this process, our patients give dope so as not to feel pain continuously."

"So, that means Daniella will be made unconscious for a while, while given a liquid medicine to thin the blood that clots in her head?" Conley repeated the doctor's words in his understanding.

"It's just right."

"If it doesn't work out, what's next, Doc?"

"If that doesn't work, the next step is to have a thrombectomy to suck up blood clots that form in the brain. This medical procedure, minimal incision. That is by using a catheter or small pipe connected to the blood vessels of the brain are blocked. For that, we need permission from you to take immediate action."

"Good, Doc. Do what is best for my daughter. I'm trusting everything on you."

"We'll do it as soon as you sign the medical approval file."

"Sure, Doc. I'll sign the file."

"good. Just a minute." Dr. Bradley then pressed the intercom on his desk.

"Sofia, please bring Miss Daniella's medical approval file to my room immediately. Soon."

"All right, Doc." A nurse answered from across the phone.

Not long after, a nurse came in with a file requested by Bradley's doctor.

" This, Doc. The file you requested."

"Please give it to Mr. Conley as the guardian of Daniella's patient." The doctor pointed with a sign of his hand. The nurse followed the instructions of her boss.

"It's Mister. Please read carefully. And put your signature here." Said the nurse.

Conley read the file for a while. Without hesitation he signed at the designated place. After Conley signed the dossier, Dr. Bradley did his job immediately.

The next day, as promised, while riding in a taxi, Conley and Emma go to the police station to provide information about the incident that happened to Daniella. Inside the taxi, there was clearly a sense of unease overshadowing Emma's heart and mind.

"Emma relax. There's nothing you need to be afraid of." Conley gently patted the back of the middle-aged woman's hand.

"You just have to answer all the questions that the police ask. Answer honestly based on what you know and experience."

"I'm very nervous, sir. This was my first experience dealing with the police."

"Everybody must have had a first experience of something, Emma. So, let's just say the cops are doing their job. When you first started working as Nanny, didn't you feel nervous?"

"Of course there's worry, sir. The nervousness of the first time working as Nanny is of course different from the nervousness I am currently experiencing."

"Why different. I think it's the same. It's a difference where? "

"Bluff when you first work it, more to worry about doing wrong in work. If you are nervous at this time, more to the fear of answering the questions they ask. According to the information I've heard, the police officer at the time of interrogation often gave trick questions. Innocent people can be suspects."

"Now I want to ask. How do you cope when you're nervous when you start a job? "

"Be calm, sir. Take a deep breath and then exhale it."

"Well that's what I mean. It's the same, right? When the police ask questions, you should answer them calmly. If you feel innocent, why should you be afraid? The police are just doing their job. You also do your job of answering the questions they ask. Do your best. I'm sure you can. The rest leave it to me. You got it, Emma?"

"I understand, Sir."

"Good girl 😎."
