Our characters are now engaged.

But, if one of the parties is level-headed then the problem will shrink and be resolved.

If the other, speaks at length then the other, just listen.

If the two were just talking, without anyone willing to listen then the matter would be even longer.

But, if one of them is silent, contemplating and digesting well then the problem can shrink.

Sometimes, a person also needs time to be alone, contemplating and calming himself.

But back, depending on each person, that can cause the problem, enlarge or shrink.
