CHAPTERS 1. Shang Ri La City
The city of Shang Ri La is part of the Tang Kingdom, one of the small kingdoms on the mainland of Zhong Yuan. The lord of Shang Ri La City was a noble named Fu Chen.
Zhong Yuan Mainland was a place filled with people who had cultivation abilities so it was dubbed a cultivator. The higher one's cultivation level, the more respected and upheld one would be so that everyone tried to become a reliable cultivator.
Other than cultivators, there were two kinds of rare abilities that not everyone could achieve that were Summoners and Alchemists.

In addition to Mu Dan being beautiful, having high knowledge, also because Yang Lim knew Wen Hui Min had promised Mu Dan to betroth his only son, his puppet, Fu Jiu Yun with the daughter of Mu Dan later. This was a good opportunity for Yang Lim to become the noble of Fu Chen.
The marriage alliance between the two great families in Shang Ri La City namely the Fu Family and the Yang Family, would make the two families into one stronger family compared to the other three great families.

Mu Dan did not take the blame and allowed Yang Lim to marry Huo Rong. Huo Rong had always been kind before Mu Dan.
Mu Dan lives in the Peony House, while Huo Rong lives in the Edelweiss House. The two residences were next to each other within the Yang Family Residence.
Yang Lim lived in harmony with his two wives although it was clear that Yang Lim loved Mu Dan more than Huo Rong. One month later Huo Rong was pregnant thus making Yang Lim very happy.
A few months later Mu Dan gave birth to a beautiful and pure white baby girl. The baby girl was named Yang Ruo Li. During the one-month celebration of Yang Ruo Li's birth, Wen Hui Min and Noble Fu Chen and his three-year-old son Fu Jiu Yun came to the Yang Family Residence.
Wen Hui Min wanted to keep her promise to match her son to Mu Dan's daughter. From then on little Yang Ruo Li became engaged to Fu Jiu Yun.
Yang Lim loves his three daughters. Although Yang Ruo Li was not his biological daughter, Yang Lim still showed his paternal affection towards Yang Ruo Li, in the hope that Mu Dan would open the door of the heart for her.
The Yang family is one of the most distinguished families in Shang Ri La City so that the young ladies from childhood are accompanied by private servants.
The people who were made servants in Zhong Yuan were people from the lowest caste that came from poor families so that since childhood they had been sold to rich families to serve as servants.
Their lives were exchanged for some money and became the property of the person who bought them. The owner of the servant will hold the 'slave letter' which is a selling letter from the servant.
The servants will forever be servants and serve the family of the buyer unless the owner gives the slave letter to them, which means they are free and no longer servants.
Mu Dan chose a five-year-old little girl to be Yang Ruo Li's personal servant. Her name was Chun Hua. Mu Dan planned to give the slave letter to Chun Hua after Yang Ruo Li grew up and got married.
The circumstances were harmonious and peaceful within the Yang Family although Mu Dan still did not open his heart to Yang Lim. When Yang Ruo Li was one year old, Mu Dan suddenly went crazy. Yang Lim had already summoned many healers to treat Mu Dan, but not a single healer could cure Mu Dan.
Huo Rong advised Yang Lim to place Mu Dan in the Lotus Residence that was behind the Yang Family Residence. There Mu Dan will be guarded by two servants, while Yang Ruo Li will stay in the Peony Residence and will be taken care of by Huo Rong.
Yang Lim agreed to Huo Rong's proposal. Mu Dan had gone mad making Yang Lim not care about Yang Ruo Li anymore.
Now Yang Lim was assigned by the Noble Fu Chen to guard the border of Shang Ri La city so that Yang Lim was more often outside and left all the family affairs in Huo Rong's hands. This decision of Yang Lim caused bad luck to befall little Yang Ruo Li later on.
The powerful Huo Rong in the Yang Family began to display her true nature. It turned out that all this time Huo Rong had always been envious and jealous of Mu Dan who had always been prioritized by Yang Lim.
Huo Rong pretended to be kind to Mu Dan while devising an evil plan against Mu Dan. Mu Dan suddenly went crazy because of Huo Rong's actions.
After successfully getting rid of Mu Dan, it was now Yang Ruo Li's turn to be the target of Huo Rong. Huo Rong administered the destructive poison to little Yang Ruo Li secretly. The poison blocked Yang Ruo Li's pill soul so that his body could not practice cultivation.
In addition Huo Rong used Yang Ruo Li as a human pill that was used as a guinea pig to try various types of poison that would be concocted into medicinal pills.
No one prevented Huo Rong's ruthless actions including Yang Lim. All because Yang Ruo Li could not practice cultivation so it was considered a waste by the Yang Family. At least Yang Ruo Li's body was useful as it was used to try different types of poison, which would result in medicinal pills that were useful to the Yang Family.
