Re; Sekai
Episodes 3.1

Surprising was the first thing Keiichi felt when he woke up. Full of mixed heart in a sense of nostalgia, sadness and happiness. It was as if something he craved was back, as well as the sense of loss that went with him.

In his embrace of the older brother just now, what he said seemed to be something he had recited many times, in a feeling of anticipation that finally paid off.

But he has no memory of why he had those feelings. Just now he died, at least that is explained as long as he is now sitting in front of the doctor who is now examining him.

“Ya, hmm.. Her eyes are wide open nak, hmmm..”.

Doctor named Dr. Hojo, who he knew from the pins in his suit, is now trying to see the health parameters that claim Keiichi is really alive. Several times she wiped her forehead, and before long she had been sitting with Keiichi's relatives who were now gathered in the doctor's room with a very soft voice and an expression of disbelief: “Keiichi, who is now gathered in the doctor's room, nothing is strange. Ex-lukapun does not exist.”.

“You sure? Didn't the doctor say my nephew was dead? You also have his death certificate.”

“True, and it's my first time seeing a miracle like this.”

“Almost you made me kill this niece of mine! I'll sue you!”

“Uncle!”

Quarrels almost happened but then Maria also calmed the fierce uncle.

There is nothing wrong with the doctor's reaction. Clearly they had seen Keiichi who had paled his body, with stitches all over his body, and his organs had probably been removed by the funeral manager so as not to rot quickly. It is true that the right words for the doctor to utter are a miracle, for it is clear that Keiichi is now in their presence, whole, breathing, without any defect.

Before long they were already at home, and that day was not a peaceful day for the Keiichi family to express the happiness that their family members had returned, but it was the strangest day in their family history: From having a funeral, to a cremation site, to a hospital, and now in a house surrounded by neighbors.

Maria shouted among the crowd which was also among the local reporters where their village was located, “Keiichi should rest! You all go back to your homes! Please yah!” which makes them even more astonished.

Inside the living room were photos, incense and Keiichi's monument.

Keiichi remembers these moments like the death of his mother. His house was filled with people dressed in black and how a death monument with incense was plastered in the living room. It was so funny that they did not immediately get rid of the monument with his photo made in memory of him.

At that time the uncle immediately dogeza towards Keiichi when they had just arrived, reluctant to raise his head even though he had been told to stop this matter. The uncle now felt so guilty that he almost got Keiichi killed in the chest.

“Excuse your uncle this son!”

Keiichi who was next to him pensively fell silent at the apology.

There was nothing wrong with him for his uncle to think he was dead. He did not even have the slightest fear when he woke up in that narrow space, where smoke slowly entered the dark coffin making him cramped to the point of breathing difficulties, because somehow, he believed his brother would help him.

“Uncle, enough, uncle is not wrong at all... I can't even believe I can live after hearing all of you're explanations.”.

At that moment comes Keiichi's memory, a blonde-haired girl with a bandage on her head, seen on the other side of the road. His memory was scant to describe the moment, but he was convinced in his last moment he encouraged the girl.

“Ah, uncle, besides me, is the girl I pushed okay?”

“Children? You were found alone Keiichi.”.

Suddenly the family whispers about the girl Keiichi mentioned, how one named Takeshi, said that Keiichi tried to save an unreal figure.

Not yet Keiichi confirmed the whisper, the hallway to the living room was already full of neighbors who managed to sneak in from the body of Maria who tried to hold them and then saw a little apparition of Keiichi. “True, life is child!” shouted one of the mothers who then made an even stronger push behind him.

Before long the flash was so dazzling that the entire hall was blind for a moment, a journalist managed to take a picture of Keiichi before a mother kicked the journalist's leg because she was considered insolent.

Grandma immediately took the initiative to bring Keiichi who looked dumb and did not talk much, fearing the crowd made Keiichi's situation worse.

“Son, already, you must be tired. Your body also stinks of smoke, perhaps a lot of people's ash remains stuck to your shirt. What if you take a shower and sleep after this? We're all here till night accompanying you.”

Grandma pushed Keiichi to the second floor of Keiichi's room and told him to soak in the warm water he had prepared.

It was 10 p.m., and the family began to return home. The small house became deserted again and Maria tried to clean up all kinds of banquets left before the grandmother stopped Maria who already looked more carefree than before.

“Ah grandma, I don't want to make grandma bother. Ah, I also have to take grandma home.”

“Well, how long do you think I've been in this small town? You're going to school tomorrow too! Already, do not reason again.”

Maria was still reluctant, but the grandmother pushed her up the stairs and finally Maria gave up her job taken by the grandmother.

“...”

Maria walked slowly to her room next to Keiichi's. Maria's heart is now beating. He felt like this was all a dream too good to be true, as he had dreamed earlier this morning that Keiichi was still alive and he was providing food for him only to know he was never in his room that day.

The terrifying door was now in front of him, a brown door with some black steel knight stickers and a signpost with the name Keiichi in front of it that gave a warning to knock first before entering. Mary knocked on the door and swallowed her saliva, and there was no answer.

“Keiichi?”

Slowly Mary's hand turned to the doorknob of her sister's room. Pray that this is not a dream, not a fantasy. Wishing what he saw later wasn't an empty room like last morning.

“God... please..”.

And Mary opened the door, and how the feet of Mary were so feeble after what she had seen. Keiichi mattress is empty. Maria's cry came out, before the touch of a hand held onto her shoulder.

“Kakak?”

“Keiichi!”

Maria turned her back and had Keiichi in her nightgown. Keiichi's eyes looked worriedly at Maria's face filled with fear.

“What's sister? Sister see something?!”

Keiichi's first reaction was to directly inspect his room and the hallway in front of his room, and Keiichi did not sense anything of a dangerous existence. There, Keiichi was astonished as to why he reacted spontaneously like that.

Thus, Maria's voice came out softly while staring tearfully at Keiichi.

“Kakak... sister thought you weren't in the room..”.

“I'm new from the bathroom.”

“I fear that all this is just a mere dream.”.

Maria said so while immediately hugging her sister, holding her sister on her chest while kissing her hair.

“You know, this morning I had a dream that you were alive. I prepare you for breakfast, I wake you up until I find the empty room in front of me. I was afraid.. Keiichi, that it happened again..”.

Keiichi returned his brother's hug which felt warm tears flooded Keiichi's head.

“I'm sorry big brother.. If only I was more careful..”.

“No, I left you! If I had been there, waiting on the fence like always, none of this would have happened.

“Sister, I pissed you off that day, I should have been the one apologizing-”

“Keiichi, I promise I won't leave you. But please, don't leave brother like yesterday... Dad left brother, Mom too... Brother is scared, scared to be alone here without you, Keiichi... Don't leave brother alone.”.

Keiichi was speechless at his brother's words, but a sense of relief filled his mind.

For a long time she wanted to hold her brother tightly like this, for so long, how mixed with sadness she was in waiting, how she broke her promise when she was little to take care of her brother. She almost left him to die, leaving her own brother in utter grief, and of course, how absurd this feeling was considering that there were no two days she had left her brother.

But obviously, Keiichi thought, that he promised not to hurt his brother again.
