SAVANNA
CHAPTER 1

CHAPTER 1

"Mmh... ".

"You likey?".

"Yesh.. Daddy".

"Ouh... Continue to".

"Ngh... Hmh..".

"Yeah... Another bit".

"Daddy..."

BRAK!.

"Hey! Aren't you gonna get out of that bed?!".

The familiar scream stopped my wild dreams. I woke up with an irregular heartbeat.

"Can you wake me up without a shout?!".

I grumbled as I watched the footsteps of the mother who was approaching.

"This child! Since when did you dare to fight mom?!".

His warning was accompanied by his hand which began to trawl my left ear.

"Aw! Aw! All righty! I'm sorry".

I grimaced and rushed down from this soft mattress.

"Rushing. It's already 8 and a half. You can be late, and mom too!".

"I told you that you don't have to drive me. James will come to pick me up anyway. Why don't you understand?"

I said that I now follow in the footsteps of my mother from behind.

Mom turned around, and looked at me sharply. The atmosphere was now silent and his gaze reminded me not to speak anymore, otherwise, those were my last words in the world.

"alright. I'm gonna take a shower".

Respond after a few seconds against this long hours of silence. Then she left me in front of the wide open door.

"Huh...".

I exhaled a heavy breath. I grabbed a cell phone and sent James a few messages that might have been in front of the house waiting for me.

Tics. Tics. Mats...

Ting!.

I didn't finish typing this message, a message from James came in. I opened the message and read it.

Vana dear, sorry.

Today I couldn't pick up, because my mother told me to take the side to her school.

That long enough message made me sigh even heavier than before.

FYI this side is James' only brother. Their age was 7 years, making James look like 'Hot Daddy' when being alone with his sister. OMG! I thought of something no-no!.

I put my phone on the study table. Then with a step back, I pulled a towel that hung beside the closet and walked towards the bathroom.

James is my first girlfriend after 19 years of living in this world. Our relationship has been going on for 5 months. Lately, I've been asking James to pick me up, so we can go to school together. After all, it wasn't long before we were in school.3 months was a short time that I thought we would spend together at school, before we graduated and went on with each other's lives. James told me that he was going to continue his studies abroad. As for me, I have not been able to determine the next step after I graduate later. My mother advised me to intern at a local company located in the city. The company was quite famous, and they gave scholarships to college interns who were competent but underprivileged in economics. It's really something that many teenagers like me look forward to. However, for the selection to be able to intern at the company, the rumors are even stricter than the entrance exam at the university level. That's what made me think hundreds of times about signing up with this below-average ability of my brain. Maybe it was my destiny to become unemployed early. Might as well.

"Seat your breakfast, I'll heat up the bike in the garage".

"Mom didn't have breakfast?".

Ask me with a plain look.

"Mom's done, so you're not taking a shower for too long". Ketus.

"Well..."

"Quick finish your breakfast! Mom wait outside".

Cut my mother to my words and she walked away from me with a dinner table containing a glass of milk and a pile of bread on a plate.

I shrugged my shoulders, and started biting my favorite chocolate-chocolate jam loaf. I know why this morning I was so temperamental. Apparently last night Dad didn't come home.

That scoundrel!.

I was upset in my heart.

*****

"Hey babe".

Say hello to James when I arrived at school and just stepped into the classroom.

"Hey! You're making me surprised!".

Reply to me and run straight to him.

"I'm sorry, this morning my mom suddenly told me to drop off the side to her school".

Whine James while grabbing my hand which is now sitting next to him.

"It's ok babe. But, why did you first arrive from me?, instead of the school side quite far from here huh?".

"Well... You doubt an F1 driver?"

Reply James with his arrogant attitude, while showing a careless driving style. Instead of answering questions, ask back. Substantial. For I love him.

"Well, I don't doubt that".

I responded lazily and started leaning spoiled on his shoulders. James chuckled softly as if he was the winner and he started playing with my long hair which I arranged to form waves.

Our friendly scene in the morning even invited some pairs of eyes staring envious, some were looking at us with a cynical look, some were looking at us, and there are also some of them who don't care at all about me and James.

After a few minutes, the maths teacher came in, making us one class sigh long and heavy, except for a few students who were sitting in the front row. Well, I said the attention seekers!.
