Second Wife of CEO Paralyzed

Second Wife of CEO Paralyzed
Farewell

Day after day passed, it did not feel like a month. And Jesslyn still can't forget the events of that night and forget the painful fact about who her birth mother was.

Between him and Luis there is a distance. They are no longer as close as they used to be, Luis who comes home more often, sometimes to sleep in the office and Jesslyn who often miss breakfast or dinner with the Qin family.

In one week, they only met a few times. Not long, just a few minutes. Jesslyn was like keeping a distance from the man who had been her contract husband for a few months. He just didn't want to make Luis feel uncomfortable with his presence.

Although Luis doesn't care who he is. But Jesslyn knew, deep down inside Luis, there was discomfort because Jesslyn was a child born from the womb of a woman who had destroyed her parents' household.

And Jesslyn has decided. He will soon be gone from Luis' life, so that the man can live his life again as he did before he came into his life.

"Until when are you going to sit there, do you intend to make yourself sick and freeze to death?!"

The cold, flat voice distracts Jesslyn from the night. He turned his head, a man wearing long jeans and an open-sleeved denim shirt, standing two meters behind him.

Then Jesslyn got up from her seat."You're home yet? Have you had dinner?" He approached the man who must have been Luis.

"I'm eating out with a client" he replied flatly.

"Lu, there's something important I want to talk to you about. And this is about our marriage contract" Jesslyn stared directly into that pair of cold eyes.

"We'll talk in the room instead" Jesslyn nodded. He walked behind Luis.

Jesslyn's heart was beating twice as fast as before. He was really nervous, not out of fear Luis would sue him because he wanted to terminate their marriage contract prematurely, like the one in the agreement, but because of something else.

And here they are now. Luis turned off the AC and lit a cigarette. His handsome face did not subdue any expression, Luis only put on an expressionless stoic face.

"Now say it," asked Luis without making small talk.

"We'd better end the marriage contract today. I know, even in front of me you don't care. But actually your little heart is so tormented living one roof with the daughter of the woman you hate the most."

Luis' heart stopped beating for a while after hearing what Jesslyn had just said. So all this time he had realized it, even though Luis did not want to vent it all on Jesslyn, but still his heart felt uncomfortable.

"I understand very well what you're feeling right now. And I won't blame your attitude lately either, you're getting colder and always trying to avoid me. I know you need some time, so I'll give you some room to breathe freely again."

"Suppose nothing ever happened between us, and everything we've been through is just a dream, which then disappears when you open your eyes. And as per the initial agreement, I~"

"I won't hold you back, if it's your choice and you think it's best. Then go, and as your ex-husband, I will always pray for your happiness." Luis interrupted before Jesslyn finished her sentence.

The man took something from the bedside drawer and gave it to Jesslyn. Jesslyn stared at a piece of paper along with a plane ticket.

Luis had prepared for it a long time ago, and he had not expected to give Jesslyn the plane ticket a few months earlier than their agreement.

Luis's eyes flashed for a moment. "You can go wherever you want, and this ticket is for you. Promise to take good care of yourself."

Just as Jesslyn was about to open her lips, Luis rose to his feet leaving her alone with a real silence and emptiness.

"See you." Luis said in his footsteps.

One thing Jesslyn doesn't know. If Luis shed a tear in the middle of his step. At the moment, destiny is laughing at him.

Luis stood leaning against the dining table. The man turned his head and found Jesslyn coming down in the same clothes, which he had worn when he first came to this house. Being Luis' prisoner.

I don't know what Jesslyn was thinking so she chose to wear her old wedding dress. The wedding dress she was supposed to wear on her wedding day with Leo.

The woman smiled a little. He almost forgot that it was not a smile full of sincerity that he showed, but a falsehood.

Luis had no reaction at all. The man remained silent in his place. He said nothing and just stared at her in silence.

"Actually I still want to continue until our marriage contract ends, but I think it'll be free."

"You'll be happy with your new life, never forget the jerk who once coloured your days despite the short time together,"

Jesslyn nodded unconsciously. He can still control himself not to cry. He understood what was inside him right now. He smiled, giving a final smile to the man who ruined his life and also his heart.

And also—the man she loved.

Jesslyn pulled her suitcase away. He twisted his body, looking at the cold irises of Luis trying to stare at each other as his eyes looked at each other.

Luis held his breath as Jesslyn ran over and hugged him. The woman hugged him tightly. He heard a little prank escaping from his lips. Luis raised his hand, his mind violently turbulent.

Jesslyn tightened her embrace as Luis' hand returned her embrace. Luis' shoulders also seemed to be shaking though not as great as he was.

The girl closed her eyes tightly before releasing her embrace. Jesslyn forced herself to smile. It was his last hug and his last smile for Luis, as they were completely separated.

And his story with Luis was like a dream all day. Short but so powerful.

The story that was originally just a charade and a lie, who would have guessed that it grew the seeds of love that then bloomed in each heart. And finally the love was lost by a destiny that never sided with them.

"Luis Qin, thank you for everything. I'm leaving,"
