...Chapter 61. Negotiations from President Jowy....
President Jowy was looking for me, did I hear wrong?
That's what's on my mind right now because I doubt my own hearing.
"Sir Juan, are you sure?"
"Yes, he wants to see you."
For a moment I tried an analysis like Juan was not a man who could make jokes against the leader of the country and his own superiors.
I'm sure Mr. Juan was telling the truth. But, why would someone like President Jowy look for me?
A strong curiosity suddenly came to my mind. The only reason I can think of is the results from the change of evaluation test this morning.
Or, there's a chance he might want to recruit me to work for the Hunter Association.
Even so, I haven't even gotten the results of the evaluation and the more I think about it, the more curious about President Jowy's reasoning.
So I accepted it too.
"All right, let's go see him!"
On hearing that, Juan smiled broadly as if he was getting a gift and this proved that Juan was not lying.
"Thank you, Mr. Rizal."
After hearing that answer, Juan turned to the car and nodded his head at another colleague Juan who was on the side of the car.
Seeing Juan's code, the colleague opened the back door which was a middle-aged man with a large body who I knew him.
He's President Jowy.
He may be over 60 years old, but his physique is still amazingly visible from the size of his body that reminds one of retired pro wrestlers.
Even so, he did not emit the arrogant aura that might be expected from a figure like himself.
Then, Jowy approached me with a small smile.
"Good Afternoon! I'm sorry, I'm interrupting and so, are you Hunter Rizal?" president Jowy said with a hand out.
"Yes, I'm Rizal" I replied, accepting President Jowy's hand.
"It's nice to meet you! I'm Jowy."
President Jowy and I exchanged smiles.
After that, I invited President Jowy to come into my house and let her sit on the living room couch.
I also serve coffee and some biscuits.
"I'm sorry, just this way I can serve," I said as I served the coffee and biscuits.
"It's okay. This is all thank you," replied President Jowy kindly.
Then I sat down in front of him where President Jowy started the conversation.
"I'd like to congratulate you on becoming the new Hunter Rank S."
I smiled a little, "Sorry, but the results of the Evaluation have not come out yet. Not necessarily, I became Hunter Rank S."
Hearing that, President Jowy shook his head.
"Actually, magic energy gauges were used to draw finer lines at one's power level. However, the device was not designed to sense anything that had exceeded the scope of the measurement indicator's capabilities. Therefore, if detected more than the maximum number of measurements will occur error or not measured."
"So, do I have to take another measurement?"
"Actually there is no need to re-measure it's just that we will prepare everything the best. One of them, I'd like to interview you in person."
Listening to President Jowy, I finally found the answer to the purpose of his arrival.
Then, President Jowy reconnected.
"As you probably know, there aren't many great Hunters in the Association, like Division Head Juan here. It was because of the large Guild that was constantly expanding."
Hearing that, I nodded my head because I understood and understood the words of President Jowy.
"And also .. signing up with a large Guild guarantees you a great salary and fame. So, who wants to come and work for the Association?"
Although President Jowy said so but still, the salary for the Hunter Association was not small by any means. But then again, when compared to what one could potentially earn by working for a large Guild then, the salary of a Hunter association was very small.
That was the difference between a Hunter who worked for the Association and someone who entered into a large Guild.
If the results of the evaluation are published and disseminated everywhere.
Does the Association have the opportunity to take this approach again? This certainly makes sense.
Then, President Jowy connected his remarks with an expression that turned serious.
"I'm not going to beat around the bush and get straight to the point. We are not corporations. We cannot promise you much money. However ... We can help you in different ways."
"What does that mean?" answer me.
"What I'm saying here is that we can help guide you in a different direction."
Hearing that, I guessed something and questioned her.
"What does the president mean by political power?"
President Jowy nodded her head, "That's right."
When I heard that answer, I smiled a little.
Hearing that, I breathed too. "I'm sorry, I can't."
"Is there any reason for you to turn down this opportunity? Could it be, you are interested in entering a Top 3 Guild?"
Honestly, when President Jowy said that I imagined myself sitting inside a lawmaker wearing a black suit with state pins and that delusion made my heart flutter.
Opportunities like this don't come every day. However ...
If I join the Association then I won't be able to level up because the high ranking Hunter that works for the Association never participates in subjugation at all. Their main role is to deal with other Hunters, not to hunt and kill monsters.
Moreover, the Hunter association was only tackling Dungeon Rank C down which Dungeon was rarely in demand for its title by large Guilds.
Then, if I accept her. My level will never rise.
For that reason, I rejected it because my goal was not money or position. I just want to be strong to protect.
Just my one principle, as long as I continue to level up, I will become stronger and stronger again.
So I decided to ...
"Sorry, Mr. President. I refused it."
Hearing that, President Jowy stared intently with a disappointed expression. Then he guessed something.
"I didn't think you'd turn it down. Is it because of the money?"
"No. I just want to fight."
Hearing that, President Jowy was surprised by my answer.
"Do you mean you want to fight monsters?"
"really so. I just want to enter the Dungeon and hunt monsters. I believe my place is within the Dungeon."
Right now I don't want to hide anymore and want to be frank about my true ambitions.
Hearing my answer, President Jowy was stunned and silent for a moment. Then, he smiled slightly and sighed.
"Like him I've forgotten the meaning of a Hunter. Thank you, young man named Rizal and." President Jowy gave me his business card. "Thank you for the time. Please accept this! If you need my help. Don't hesitate to call me!"
"Together, sir. Sorry, if my answer disappoints you" replied
"Not at all, I'm happy to meet a young man like you."
Then, me and the President exchanged smiles. "So, what's your plan going forward?"
Right, Mr. Jowy's question remembers me the plan I made ...
"I want to create my own Guild."
Hearing that, Mr. Jowy smiled. "That's how. All right, I'll help you."
"Thank you, president."
A moment later, President Jowy left and with Juan and several other associates left my house.
