Vampire vines
“He really is a strange beginner.” Vivian also ended up muttering to herself before returning to the driver's seat.
The train that had stopped for a moment once again started moving. Following the creak of his wheel, he continued forward.

After half a day, Shin's group reached their first target location.
“So that vampire vines?”
After descending from the atmosphere of the heavy carriage, Shin's first glance was their target, the vampire vines.
It is a kind of weed that grows on the north main road and closes the road like a roadblock.
The vines were red like the color of blood, and they grew extremely dense. They intertwine tightly together and form walls of low but very wide areas.
Of course, it's not something worth admiring.
That was because Shin could clearly see that these vines were like veins. They continued to expand and contract like something was flowing through them, and they were constantly wriggling. That looks so disgusting.
“Is it a demonic beast?” Shin spat with a hint of disdain.
On the other hand, Vivian walked while leading the carriage giving an answer to Shin's muttering.

Not only that, the vampire vines also had quite strong vitality and toughness. Once they grow, they will spread at extreme speeds and only stop when any blood inside the area has dried up. An ordinary knife would not even be able to scratch the outermost layer, and anyone approaching would risk getting stuck and drained to dry. Therefore, these vampire vines ended up bringing a lot of trouble to many places.
However, due to its toughness and vitality, a normal flame might burn for a long time.

That patch of bloody vampire vines was eaten by a sea of fire, and burned.

Just as it cried out in a slow voice, every single strand of vampire vines began to struggle like crazy within that sea of flames.
If anyone saw the scene, it was certain that they, like Shin, would strongly suspect them to be demonic beasts.
Unfortunately for them, demonic beasts at least knew to fight or escape when they were about to die. Vampire vines can't do that. They just rolled around wildly in the flames as if struggling in its final upheaval.
The air was completely filled with the heat and dryness of the fire.

Shin, whose face was completely illuminated by the light of fire, spoke as if moved.
Although when he was in the demon beast forest, Shin had seen more than once a monster that could spout fire or lightning, but no doubt this was the first time Shin had seen magic like this.
Shin looked at the figure of Melika who had cast this magic.
When the vampire vines were all burned to ashes, the fire suddenly disappeared like an illusion after Melika drew her magic power.
A large patch of the vampire vines were burnt away, leaving only a patch of ground that was burnt black.

“You have worked hard.” Vivian only then moved forward and praised Melika.
