“Hai, Aira! Lovely as usual. Why you still hanging out with these two peasants?” greet Javin when he sees Aira having lunch with Ali and Zia in the staircase. Ali and Zia just smiled in response to Javin, because they did not really understand.
“Bangeet style... speak English. So do not play far away, it becomes a possession of the English devil, deh!” Ali and Zia were just giggling at Aira's response. Only Aira would dare to talk like that with Javin. If Ali or Zia were to say so, surely his neck had been pinched by Javin while his head hair was overhauled, if not pinned.
“Astaghfirullah, Airaa.. it turns out the beautiful girl mouth sore yes..” Sahut Javin is full of. “I ‘kan just want to practice, Ra. Soon ‘there will be an Inter-Class Race. I follow the story telling, so let his tongue is not surprised,” continued Javin. “What race are you in, Ra?” Ask again.
“The agent ‘sih coloring, but instead told to join PILDACIL”sahut Aira upset.
“Match. You ‘kan kirewet” sahut Javin lightly. Aira already wants to vent his frustration on Javin's comments, then Javin hastily connect his question, “Who is joining PILDACIL from your class?”
“Together this child!” sahut Aira cheerfully while patting Ali's shoulder gently. His face was cheerful again. As if he had forgotten that he had just been nicknamed chatty by Javin.
“Whidiih... got your guts too! Or actually you decide to come along when drunk,” said Javin behaved politely.
“I also actually do not want, if not forced.” Sahut Ali plain while glancing at Aira. Javin just laughed heartily at the helpless Ali in front of Aira.
“Continue, which hero do you want to tell me? Have you been picky?” ask Javin to Ali. Ali pura did not hear and considered the question to Aira.
“Li, quizzed! Who do you want to tell whose hero?” said Aira.
“Declaration, Vin! Let's surprise,” Sahut Ali.
“I also want to know, Li” said Aira again.
“Ha ha ha, Mampus!” said Zia who suddenly sounded, but since then followed the conversation and just kept quiet. Ali tried not to answer. But there was nothing he could think of to divert the conversation.
“Who is the hero you want to tell me about, Li” asked Aira again.
After being stunned for a moment, Ali finally answered “Mahatma Gandhi,” her voice was faint-suffering, barely audible.
“ Hah! Wh who? The Indian” asked Aira.
“ Ha ha ha... indeed mabok only this temenmu, Ra” responded Javin among the laughter.
“Why Gandhi, Li?” ask Aira again.
“Why enggak” replied Ali briefly. He had had a debate like this before. So just imitate Dad's answer.
“Gandhi ‘Kan is not an Indonesian hero, Li,” sued Javin
“There are rules should be heroes of Indonesia” replied Ali flat.
“Why should Gandhi, why not a hero from his own country” asked Aira, agreed with Javin.
“Because our hero's historical record is incomplete. Our distance from them is too far. Gandhi's example and advice was noted to be more presentable and reliable. In part if we only want to learn from our own nation, we inhibit ourselves to grow.” Sahut Ali's.
“Truly mabok ni anak” respond Javin while shaking his head.
“I said the same Mother, let Mother who said the same Mama you”
“Waah.. don't say the same Aunt Ratna donk...” whine Javin on Aira. Lost all of Javin's courage. “Iya. I didn't say Ali was a drunk again,”. But seeing Aira still glaring at him, Javin immediately switched the conversation. “What's special Gandhi ‘sih, Li?”
“Oh, Lots!” Ali was proud. “One of them is yes.. One day a wife complained to Gandhi. She had trouble forbidding her husband to stop getting drunk.”.
“Ha.. ha. ha.. ha.” Javin immediately twisted.
“Hey!” Jerk Aira at Javin.
“Sorry, Ra! Not want to cheat, but if the same Ali story is not far from mabok.”
“Iya anyway, bener.” Zia commented. Ali just glared at Zia, not believing her best friend to change course. Zia then grinned while avoiding Ali's gaze.
“Dengerin first!” aira shouted at Javin and Zia. “However, Li” asked Aira in a voice that suddenly became friendly.
“Well, that's the story. When questioned by the mother, Gandhi did not immediately answer. Gandhi told her to come back here again next week with her husband.”
“The next week, the husband and wife really returned to Gandhi's house to get advice on how to overcome the problem of khamar addiction. When he arrived, the first thing Gandhi asked his wife was not to comment first if not asked. Then Gandhi tried to tell her what her husband felt when he did not drink khamar. The excessive thirst. Encouragement from within the heart to drink immediately, satisfying his lust. How the impulse disturbs the mind so that it is difficult to concentrate on completing tasks in daily life. The husband firmly confirmed Gandhi's words, that is how he felt every time he decided to stop drinking. Her lust in her heart was too strong until she finally gave up and drank again.”
“The husband was astonished, how Gandhi could understand how he felt. Gandhi later admitted that during this week Gandhi fasted sugar. Gandhi's impulse to start consuming this sugar that Gandhi tried to understand, and he concluded that people who are addicted to alcohol must also feel the same impulse of lust, even stronger.”
“Gandhi then advised his wife that banning is not enough. The wife needs to learn to empathize, trying to understand how hard it is to avoid the ban. Thus prohibition against slack can be more effective. In front of Gandhi, the couple finally made a deal, the husband promised to try to reduce his drinking habits. The wife, who was a bit fat compared to other women in her neighborhood, also promised to reduce sugar consumption. Both of them so they can understand each other the weight of war with their respective passions.”
“How do you think Gandhi was cool ‘kan. Though only to give advice, but he would bother to follow the fast. He not only gives advice but also takes his advice. Exemplify. That's why Gandhi was honored,” said Ali closing his story. Actually Ali was just repeating a story from Dad last night.
“Iya ‘sih. Cool! Today's parents often just ask and forbid, without thinking how heavy it is for us” said Javin responded. “If they parents can, ‘kan not necessarily we can,” he continued.
“Mother I never told and forbid that I can't do ‘sih. But for a bad boy like you, maybe this story becomes more relatable yes,” Aira told Javin. Ali and Zia once again chuckled. Aira seems to have superpowers on Javin who incidentally is great as a bully. Superpowers that make Aira can say anything to Javin, without having to hit.
“Astaghfirullaah, Ra! Tega. When did I ever naughty” sahut Javin. Aira pura did not hear.
“Terus, you will tell that story in pildacil later?” ask Aira.
“No sih” replied Ali.
“Ha? Wh why? How nice! Bede. Might be able to win”
“There is another more cool Gandhi” story
“Oh yes! How?”
“Rahasia... later just hear it when I take the stage”.
