Don't play.
Alva sighed as the father's words suddenly flashed in his mind. Well, William actually flocked it last night. Although Alva faced him calmly, it was undeniable that inwardly, the man was also afraid. Afraid that what you're afraid of will come true.
Alva did live in good upbringing under William. But again, he could not deny that not all of William's nature should be able to be representative. What William is afraid of is, Zhe, the Asian girl who lives in Asia has different habits and ways of looking at New York youth in general. If***free is already a daily meal in New York, then it's taboo to talk about in Zhea. Alva can clearly interpret Willia's attitude that warned her yesterday.
I don't know. Alva may be crazy. The first time he met Zhea, he just thought that Zhe was attractive. The girl was not selfie and was competing to update everything about New York like what her friends did. The girl was not smiling and joking as to what they were doing. Instead, the girl chose to sit on one of the park benches, and cried. When Alva only tried to care and comfort her, the girl rejected Alva outright. Seriously, do Asians not like Caucasians? However, on that very day, Alva tried to tease one of the other scholarship students and the girl shouted right in front of him. From there, Alva concludes that Zhea is the only person who is immune to her charm.
Alva does not know what he will do in the future. All he knew, he only had to see Zhea's smile. He just had to make the girl his lover. Alva did not know since when the two things became his obsession.
"Zhea, McD, please? I'm hungry" Alva stroked her stomach, making Zhe nod and walk next to Alva. They entered a McDonald's that was not far from their place.
Alva told Zhea to sit in one of the empty places, while she seemed to walk to order food.
"What message?" Alva asked, turning to Zhea, whom Zhe replied by looking at you.
Alva came with two Big Mac packs on her hands. After sitting down, Alva said, "Eat a lot. If you're still hungry, I'll order you again."
"You want me fat?" Zhea laughed making Alva nod excitedly, "You'll look even sexier if you're fat, you know?"
Zhea rolled her eyeballs, "Ezum, you know?" They laugh about a lot of things they are talking about. Whether it is important or not. And they both enjoyed the conversation.
"You know? My friend likes to feel embarrassed if I finish my food without leaving anything behind. They like to insinuate me like this, Wah, Alva! You don't even have to wash your dishes!" Alva said while demonstrating what her friend was doing, making Zhea laugh for the umpteenth time.
"Only, my father always taught me to do that. He always said that every food we throw away would mean a lot to others. Take all you can eat, and eat all you can take." Alva continued, making Zhea amazed.
The girl remembered how Alva's father was at the meeting yesterday. The man with the bulging body did look very serious even though Zhea did not pay attention to the whole event.
"Well, I didn't know your father was so wise!" Zhea chuckles. Well, when viewed from the outside, the puffed-up man with his white hair was really like a boring killer lecturer figure. However, the term Don't judge a book by its cover is still valid, when viewed from the story of Alva.
"Do you know my father?" Alva asked, making Zhea nod steadily. And seriously, Alva was shocked because this girl was also the only girl who felt ordinary by her father's charm.
"I'll introduce you directly to him, if he's back here." Alva's words made Zhea raise her eyebrows, "Where is she really?"
"In California. Ordinary, people are busy." Reply Alva. In his heart, Zhe confirmed, of course, there is no way a lecturer from a top university in the world would be free from the word busy.
"But you know? He's the best man I've ever known." Alva smiled, and from Alva's smile, Zhe knew that this man loved his father so much.
"My mother is dead. So, my father was the one who replaced my mother. He's been such a great father and mother to me." Alva continued, making Zhea's smile widen. Ah, Alva is really lucky.
"Then you have to be a father like him." Zhe's reply made Alva chuckle.
"Oh yeah, what about your family? I mean, you must have a really great family. Seriously, their son is a New York University scholarship recipient! They must be very proud, right?"
Zheam's smile disappeared as word for word emerged from Alva's lips. Family's great? God fucking. His mother ran away when he was 2 years old. His father loved to drink and torture him. And worse, he was almost sold by his own biological father.
For some reason, Zhe's body suddenly shook when again, the incident was vividly recalled in Zhea's head. The cynical grin, the hungry look, the touches that made Zhea want to tear her own skin so as not to leave anything behind. Because believe me, it's really disgusting.
"Zhea are you okay?" Alva was surprised to see Zhea's change in attitude. And without a second thought, the man hugged Zhe's tiny body. Making the girl's cry break.
"You are not okay." Say Alva again while stroking Zhea's back. Yes, Alva should have known, from the first day he met Zhea, there was something that the girl was holding and hiding neatly.
And now, it was as if he saw something that Zhea was hiding was revealed. Keeps the wound open. And Alva was sure, it was all because of him.
"I am sorry, I am sorry," Alva closed her eyes while stroking Zhea's head. The girl is still so happy. "Alright, don't talk about them if it makes you sick. Forget everything, Zhea." Alva said as she tightened her embrace, making Zhea cry even more in Alva's arms.
But right now, it feels different.
He just needs Alva's hug to ease things up. Not lost, but powerful enough to relieve it.
"I wanna die. Want. I want to die. I want to die so I can forget all the stupid shits happened in my stupid life. I want to die, Alva! Just tell me the fuckin reason why should I still alive and live this bullshit!" Zhe spout, make Alva pull Zhea's face. Staring at the girl for a moment, before finally******Zhe's pink lips. The girl gasped in shock, but had no power to stop her. Zhea did not react. The girl neither replied nor rejected him. He just felt how sweet Alva's lips were.
"Well, we've had enough time here. Now, I'm gonna take you somewhere else."
Zhea wiped away the remains of her tears when she realized they were stopping at a white house with a wide field. The girl couldn't hold back her curiosity any longer, "Where is this? Why are we here?"
Alva smiled, "To give you a reason why you should go through this nonsense."
Zhea did not understand. But the girl chose to follow Alva who was entering the white room.
"the alva! Oh, yes pardon! You haven't been here in a long time!" A middle-aged woman seemed to smile broadly while hugging Alva's body, making the man return the woman's embrace with a crisp laugh.
"I'm sorry, Mrs Kathrine. I'm busy with my college." Alva's reply made the woman smile and glanced at Zhea who was standing behind Alva.
"You didn't come with your father? But with a girl?" Kathrine grinned, making Alva laugh warmly, "Are the children inside?"
Kathrine nodded, "Yes, they are resting in the back garden. Please come in."
Then, Alva gives Zhe the code to follow him. Zhea said, because honestly, Zhea also did not know what this place was and why Alva brought her here.
They arrived at a fairly large park, full of children who were playing various games. And to Zhe's surprise, some of these children have disabilities.
"Alva, where is this?" After being silent for too long, Zhe finally asked. Making Alva smile while embracing Zhea's shoulder, "This orphan foundation is incredible. My father was one of the regular donors, so we've been here at least every month. But lately, I've rarely been with you."
Zhe mangosteen. The fields rotate on each side of the garden. There were a few kids playing ball, but what touched Zhe was that one of them had no left foot. Then, there is a child who is talking in front of his friends, as if he is telling interesting events that he experienced. There was also a girl in a wheelchair who was watering flowers. Those things somehow made Zhe smile widely.
"Look at that," Alva pointed to a little man who was playing ball.
"Name Richard. He lost his leg at the age of 3 months due to malignant cancer. And back then, their parents left her in the hospital with no responsibility." Obviously Alva.
"And the girl who was telling the story in front of her friends. Name's Shelby. He's been deaf since birth." Alva now pointed to a girl whom Zhe thought was telling her an interesting thing earlier.
"If you see that little girl who's watering flowers, her name is Diamond. He has turner syndrome." Continue Alva. "Ask them your reasons for living, Zhe."
Alva smiled, making Zhe stare at the man without blinking.
"Richard lost both his parents. He also lost his left leg. But he's still playing ball."
"Shelby can't hear from birth. He also has difficulty speaking. But he kept telling his friends about his experiences."
"Diamond should have condemned his imperfect life. But he took care of the flowers to live a perfect life through his imperfections."
The words that Alva let out seemed to be a sword capable of striking Zhea's heart. Alva's right. The girl was too damned about her life. Too hopeful to die. Until we forget that there are children like them who actually have to fight desperately to survive. Zhea's tears are coming down.
Alva smiled, the man pulled Zhe's body to face him. He put both of Zhea's shoulders together, and then Zhea's black eyes looked so intensely, "I will not tell you to stop crying, Azhalea. Nor will I tell you to tell me your problem "Flick.
"But you have to remember, Zhe. If you're sad, you're remembering a painful past, which makes you think of dying and torturing yourself" Alva let out a long sigh, "Remember that there are still many people who are more sad and experience more painful events. Remember that your life is not over. Remember that you have to be strong to deal with it. And remember, that we are all entitled to one other hope."
Zhea smiled. The girl looked more and more at Alva's brown eyes which were so soothing to her. Alva is different. Yes, Alva is different from other men who just need his body. Alva is different from other men who approach her for their benefit. Alva is different. And Alva, makes Zhea realize that she still has a reason to live in a painful world. Alva gives Zhea a reason, and without Zhea realizing it, Alva alone will be Zhea's reason for living.
