"Wil, how about the club?" Alex, a lecturer in the law faculty, as well as William's best friend seemed to invite the man who was busy with his laptop.
"Well, Alex. I am a lot tired." After saying that, Alex immediately left because the other people were already waiting. William is alone in his room. He's very tired. Today's work left him not even having the chance to contact Alva.
Speaking of Alva... William immediately retrieves his phone, intending to contact Alva. On the fifth ringing, the phone connection is lifted.
"Hello, Mister." DEG.
William wails. He did not find Alva's voice from the phone. However, he clearly knew who the owner of the soft voice was across.
"I'm sorry I picked up the phone from you. You're the father of Alva, right? Sorry before, but Alva was sleeping, she was exhausted. I can't wake her up." Will smiles. How much did he miss this voice?
Silent. No one's talking. This makes someone across there look excited, "Oh sir. Not what you think! We didn't do anything. My name is Azhalea. I'm a friend of Alva's. He's exhausted from driving me around New York."
William smiled. This girl is still the same.
"Hello? Mister?"
William cleared his throat as he lowered his tone, "Have him call me right away."
And after saying that, William hung up his phone.
William sipped his warm tea while leaning his body on the sofa. He sighed, remembering how he saw Zhe's face today. It still feels like a dream. But the difference is, this is not a beautiful dream that he used to dream. He had always dreamed of Zhe who would smile and run to hug him at the first meeting. Then, they will talk about many things, many jokes, from important to unimportant. If only that event had never existed.
Well, but what should he do if the situation is inversely proportional to what he dreams? Azhalea was not even aware of its existence. Or even... Zhea had indeed softened it even worse Zhe was so close to Alva.
Gosh darn.
Why would William not be willing if Zhea was close to his only child? Wasn't it the man himself who promised to introduce the two of them? Wasn't it the man himself who promised to unite them so that Zhea could be his son as well?
William took his phone, looking at a picture of Andrea, his late wife smiling sweetly in his arms. William smiled. He realized that Zhea was really similar to Andrea. Well, they're two different individuals. Totally different. But sometimes, isn't it the difference that makes them look more similar? That's how William feels. Whatever Zhea did, it always reminded William of his late wife. As if Zhea was Andrea, William did not want anyone close to him beyond their closeness.
Maddened. William must be crazy.
The drying of the mobile phone made William blink his eyes. He saw the name Alva on the phone screen, making the man immediately press the green button and stick his phone in the ear.
"Yes, dad." Alva's voice filled her eardrums, "What's wrong? You're not coming home?"
"Well, I just told you that I'm in California for the next week." William.
"Well, long enough, huh?" Reply Alva with a laugh. He raised William's eyebrows spontaneously, "Why so happy?"
Alva laughed, "No, dad. Do I sound so happy?"
"Yes?"
"Who was the girl who picked up the phone earlier?" William asked, making Alva laugh again, "She's the girl I told you about yesterday."
Exactly it.
"Alva, stop playing around," William let out a long sigh, "You're all grown up. Try to be serious."
"Dad?" Call Alva, now, no more joke tones
in voice.
"What are you talking about? And.. Why should you care about my toys?"
William growled furiously when he heard what Alva said. Did that guy just say Zhea as a toy?
"God!" William snapped furiously, "Stop playing around!"
"Why dad? Why are you so angry? You even said that at my current age, playing around was natural. Didn't you say that?"
William's hand clenched, "If they were women you met at the nightclub, I wouldn't care," Will sighed, "But that girl, she's different."
"Daddy? Do you know Zhea that well? You sound like a man defending his lover desperately in front of your family." Alva said sarcastically, causing William to close his eyes for a moment, "Take your talk."
"Then, what, dad? The girls I approached, have nothing to do with you!" Firm Alva. The man spoke again, "Listen, dad. I'm a player, I can't refuse. About what I'm gonna do to Zhe later, I don't know. I don't know if I really like it, or just feel challenged to get it. I don't know if I'll really love him, or if I'll throw him away when my challenge is over. But, one thing I'm going to do right now."
Alva sighed, "I'll make her fall in love with me."
William smiled cynically, "Listen to me, Alva."
The man said in a serious tone, "As a father, I will protect you from all sorts of dangers. As a father, I will kill anyone who tries to hurt you," William paused for a moment before returning to his words, "But as a man, I will kill you, I will kill you, if you dare touch and crack a little bit of that girl's heart."
Alva was silent across there.
"I'm really serious about what I say." Will meant it
Alva snorted, "Are you threatening me just because of a foreign girl who even, you yourself have never known her?!"
You're wrong Alva. You wrong. I know that girl so well. That girl would make me sleepless if I missed her. The girl will make me forget about work if I talk to her. The girl would make me fantasize wildly if I looked into her eyes. That girl will make me intend to kill anyone who hurts her if I see her crying.
"I'm not threatening you. I warned you," William sighed once more, he began to soften his voice, "She's a smart girl who is being trusted by her parents to study in the land of people. If you only intend to play around, better, find a woman ******."
Alva laughed when she found out why Will was so angry, "No need to worry about that, Dad."
