The Arkana: The Demon Hunters

The Arkana: The Demon Hunters
Deathly Forest

Yasa walked alone in the forest. Among the lush trees there was a foul aroma that was so thick that it made the boy want to vomit. From every angle, he felt noticed. At one point, Yasa closed his eyes while sighing.

"Amurwabumi, mercury kula. Damarwulan, ameng kurmati. Wisnumurti, kang. Aji amukti, amukti kula," muttered Yasa.

After he cast a protection spell, a bluish light appeared that coated his body. It's not finished up there.

"Roh alit, great atma. Eyes of the heart tansah bright. Anglir mendem, kersaning Gusti." Yasa cast another spell while opening his eyes back slowly. Now he is able to see the creatures that hide their presence.

There are currently dozens of creepy-bodied creatures around Yasa, they all vary from small to large. But one thing was certain, their existence emitted a powerful killing aura as if it wanted to prey on the humans entering its territory. Yasa was not afraid. He looked at them all in turn.

"For all of you" he said defiantly.

Instantly, an army of invisible creatures from the forest inhabitants also shot to attack Yasa. However, their bodies were blown away when they were a few inches away from the boy. Not a few who were low level was burned to a black smoke puff due to hit the atma that fortified the body of the boy. He attached his index and middle fingers, and pointed one by one the evil spirits that surrounded him.

"The form of an evil spirit, titiang tapalangin olih cahya. The power of nature, ngulurangin adharma. Pateh ngalahin, titiang nenten scold Ida Sang Hyang Widhi. Mugi dados titiang, panglimbak ring sami adharma!"

Yasa slaughtered the surrounding evil spirits with attack-type spells. The boy destroyed dozens of demon armies with just himself alone.

...****************...

On the other hand, Mahari was sitting sweetly in the steering chair of the car while staring around. The feathers goosebumps due to the sudden cold that envelops. Thin fog began to decorate the area where it was waiting, narrowing its visibility.

"It's a long time feeling" he said, rubbing his neck. In the midst of his waiting, Mahari squealed as she stared straight ahead. "What?"

From a distance can be seen the silhouette of a large-bodied creature that approached his car. Mahari gulped, then got out of the car. The man carried a flashlight and walked into the forest through the path that Yasa had gone through earlier.

"Yasa, I came to help you!" exciting Mahari. "Well, where are you?!"

...****************...

Back to the battle in the forest. Now the boy looks exhausted with breath gasping due to the many spells he recited. His throat was burning dry.

"Curtain! There are no abis."

While Yasa was already exhausted, the number of evil spirits in this place was increasing. As the word goes, one dead grows a thousand.

At one point, a shadow shot towards him, making Yasa's atma fortress crack. After breaking his opponent's shield, the black creature retreated for a moment while giving a grin. It seemed like he was one of the high-leveled evil spirits in this place. Now the creature seems to be gathering energy through its mouth, then it releases it towards Yasa. "YES!" A black sphere shot rapidly towards Yasa.

"Damn!" The boy jumped to the side, then he quickly pointed his two fingers towards the black creature while chanting a spell.

Duaaar!

A tree hollowed out from the spiritual attack released by Yasa. Unfortunately the black creature managed to avoid the destructive spell.

'It's just a bonus. Now I have to hide and rest for a moment to gather stamina.' Inner Yasa.

He hid his presence with a special spell. For a while the evil spirits will not be able to sniff out the scent of Yasa.

Yasa hid among the trees. He sat breathing while staring around. The boy could not relax, he did not let down his guard at all.

While he was hiding, a loud scream made him close his ears. That shout sounded like a roaring beast. Yasa's body suddenly trembled in fear because of the voice.

The strong wind made Yasa hold on to the tree trunk where she was leaning. He was wide-eyed when he looked up because he caught the figure of a primordial creature in the form of a giant garuda with his eyeball.

"Don't see that one" he muttered.

When I was complaining, suddenly my hair stood back up. Yasa turned his head to the side, his eyes narrowing when he found the troublesome black creature was finding him.

"You think you're a predator?" ask the creature. He returned grinning. "You lost the two leading letters. Right now you are just a prey."

Yasa was still trembling due to the screams of the Garuda spirit that had crossed him.

The creature chuckled. "Fearful?" Without the cue of the black tendrils darted rapidly towards Yasa.

The boy cast a spell of courage. After his fear suddenly disappeared, Yasa moved back. He jumped and rolled to the right, then ran away from the tendrils chasing him.

While running Yasa did not stop muttering. He reassembled the astral shield and attacked the keroco creatures that tried to hit him from the front.

Until at one point, one of the chasing black tendrils was able to catch his leg. Yasa fell down and quickly coated himself with double protection.

The black creature laughed. His tendrils formed sharp hoofed hands that unceasingly tore apart Yasa's atma shield.

"Damn, shit, shit," said Yasa who was still trying to survive. "Just get here?" He began to limp and fall.

"Close!" mahari exclaimed who suddenly appeared and jumped the tiger towards Yasa. The cigarette in his mouth fell, but he picked it up again and put it on his lips.

From behind the man, a five-tailed lion cobra jumped straight ahead and hit the black creature that was having fun with Yasa.

"What's that thing, Boss?!" ask the astonished Yasa.

Mahari's face looked terrified. "We're leaving." He held Yasa on his shoulder, then ran as fast as he could to get out of the forest.

For a moment Yasa looked back. The black creature that almost killed him now disappeared into a puff of black smoke. He was killed by a more violent creature.

After killing the black creature that was troublesome to Yasa, the monstrous cobra-tailed lion shone towards them.

"Who is strong, he is the King" said Mahari. "Some evil spirits are also greedy with the throne. Besides us, maybe they're fighting each other over territory."

The man's steps suddenly stopped. Right in front of him was a reddish-haired ape demon covered in blood. The blood was not his wound, but a sign of his opponent's death. At the creature's feet were scattered numerous dregs of evil spirits that slowly faded into a puff of black smoke. There seems to have been a one-sided massacre in this place.

"Boss, how's it?" tanya Yasa who was still on Mahari's back. He was quite horrified by the creature before him.

Mahari sighed, he pulled out the cigarette in his mouth, then threw it on the ground and extinguished the fire with the sole of a shoe. His eyes turned sharp.

"Take a good look at this, Yasa. Don't blink because I'll only show you once."

"Boss ...." Just this time Yasa felt the seriousness of a Mahari. The boy was very enthusiastic about the true strength of the man he called the boss.

Mahari stuffed his right hand into the bag of pants without taking his eyes off the demon. They looked at each other as if they were reading movements.

"This creature is called Wanara. They are wild, fast, and dangerous" Mahari said.

The woman moved one step forward. Before he attacked, Mahari's reflex immediately unleashed a quick attack.

"Leadly fiery dust!" The man threw a powder at the face of the monkey demon before him.

At once the woman also closed her eyes while coughing.

"That thing can only hold its movement for a moment. We have to keep moving to save power" Mahari said. "Our enemies are many."

Before the woman reacted, Mahari ran back to carry Yasa.

'Great boss. He really thought of a mature plan for a long-term battle.' Inner Yasa. The boy's face was dazzled by Mahari's ingenuity.

"What is that, boss?" ask Yasa curiously.

"The chili powder was used for lunch" replied Mahari.

Suddenly silent atmosphere. Yasa's enthusiastic face instantly turned flat expressionless. Apparently his expectations on Mahari are too high. For a moment he looked back. Her tears trickled when she saw the red-furred woman shouting and looking riled at them. The monkey ran in pursuit.

"Come on us" Yasa said.

However, the speed of Mahari cannot be underestimated. In the hazy affair, he is better than anyone. When it comes to running away from reality, he is always in front of others.

Mahari's footsteps managed to hit the dense forest and returned to the highway. He kept running fast towards his car parked on the side of the road, then entered and closed the door again. Lastly, he tightly locked each door while sighing in relief.

"We survived."

"You saggy eye seeds!" yasa shouted. He returned to cast a spell with the remnants of his strength. The boy enveloped Mahari's car with seven layers of atma. If only Yasa was late, maybe the two of them along with Mahari's car had been destroyed.

From within the forest, many evil spirits chased out and directly hit the car that became their shelter as if not to let Mahari and Yasa both just run away. One by one the shields that Yasa made were destroyed.

"Boss! How's this?!" yasa shouted in panic.

"Relax" Mahari replied in a relaxed voice. The man looked like he was keeping the US card in this crucial condition.

Sure enough, one by one the creatures also disappeared into a puff of black smoke as a result of trying to destroy the atma shield made by Yasa.

"It's a game of time between the durability of your shield and the number of evil spirits" Mahari said.

Seeing the number of creatures that attack cars is thinning. Mahari smiled faintly. The smile did not last long. For the great creature he saw before fleeing into the forest came back. The giant had long fangs and also carried a large, sinister mace. Each of his steps gave birth to powerful thump and tremors like a small earthquake.

'Is it possible for the woman to stop chasing due to the pressure this huge creature exerts?' Thought Yasa when he did not find the presence of the woman who had previously pursued.

One by one the evil spirits who gang up on Mahari's car also stay away. It seems they are afraid and disinclined by the presence of the great one.

"I don't think my protective shield can hold this one" Yasa said, gulping.

The distance between the giant and Mahari's car is near. Now it was clear that his breath was emitting a thin mist. The creature suddenly raised its huge mace with one hand as if it was about to attack.

"So our crush, Boss," Yasa said resignedly. He closed his eyes as the giant slid its wheels dipping sharply from top to bottom right at them.

Amidst the darkness that Yasa was feeling, there was suddenly the sound of steps on top of Mahari's car. More like someone running from the back of the car to the front bumper through the top.

"Don't be afraid, Yasa. All have entered into the plan," said Mahari accompanied by oddity.

Yasa re-opened his eyes when he heard Mahari's nonsense. His eyes were rounded intact as the huge mace was restrained by the blow of a bald man in a reddish black Varsity jacket with a dragon symbol on his back.

"WOWO!" exclaim Yasa. The boy smiled. If there is Wibowo here, there may still be hope to live longer he thought.

"Bowo is not a guerrilla fighter. The bald man prefers frontal combat. I deliberately lured these bastards and their King to the highway so that he could freely fight and finish them all at once" said Mahari. "Now we finish with a short-term fight."

Yasa's eyes sparkled. "Sorry to doubt you, boss!"

Mahari laughing. "Looky."

The gondrong man with the middle part of the bangs wiped the sweat on his forehead with his hands.
