Chapter 05 - Entrance Ceremony

The train is speeding over the tracks. Most of the passengers were sided by students from two different academies.

Among the many passengers, Airen and Sophia were seated in a room. Most of the time they spend in silence staring out the window.

The view outside looked beautiful at once and terrifying. From below, we see a city that has long been inhabited with the ruins of buildings.

At first glance, the city looks uninhabited. However, from the sidelines of the ruins, the monsters called Strike peered towards the carriage with their sharp gazes.

Some time they walked, Sophia and Airen arrived in front of the academy. The fountain immediately greeted them as it walked down the path after passing through the academy gates.

Everyone around wears the exact same uniform they wear. But what attracted the most attention, of course, were the large buildings in the academy.

“So this is Starlight Academy? My new school is really big ...”

“You're surprised? Well, certainly. Starlight Academy has very complete facilities. There is a place for battle simulation and research. Everything young Javelins need to thrive is available here.”

Sophia proudly explained.

He began the speech by explaining the state of their world that was in danger due to the attack of a monster from an asteroid called Strike.

He told them that the academy was tasked with educating the young Javelins not to die easily in the war against Strike.

Javelin themselves are the ones who make contracts with weapons in their souls— called Kavalian—then awaken special abilities.

In some rare cases like Airen, there is a Javelin that awakens his special abilities before making a contract with Kavalian— that is the explanation that Airen gets from the books in the library.

In addition, Kavalian has a variety of forms in accordance with the desires of Javelin.

The deputy director continued his speech by giving encouragement and motivation to the new and old students so that they have a desire to be stronger than yesterday because there have been many casualties caused by Strike.

He also said that the social status of all people in the academy is the same, no matter which class or family they come from. Everyone is a warrior who wants to reclaim world peace from Strike.

The deputy director also advised them not to abuse god-given powers such as the heavyweight criminals who now live as fugitives for life.

Finished with his speeches and messages, the entrance ceremony continued by naming important staff such as OSIS and the like.

Then one of the new students who had the highest entry value was appointed to make a speech on stage. The deputy director invited the new student in question to go up there.

The deputy director laughed at his reply.
