At the end of the entrance ceremony, the crowd of students spread out to all directions. Some go straight to their classes, but most students spend some time relaxing in certain places.
In the hallway of main building—study class places and other important places are—Airen sitting on chairs available for students can relax.
She and Sophia came to the building. But Sophia suddenly asked him to wait while the girl disappeared somewhere.
There's nothing Airen can do while waiting. He was busy watching the people passing in front of him.
Until one time, there were two students who approached him.
“You're not the man who was always with Miss Sophia earlier?”
One of them asked.
“You mean me? I was with Sophia before, but she told me to stay here while she was gone. Too bad I don't know where she's going, so if you guys are having any business with Sophia, I'm sorry I couldn't help.”
“Ah, no, no. Just relax. We have no business with Miss Sophia. We happen to see you alone here, so we're worried you're separated from him or something.”
“Oh, as it turns out.”
Airen slightly misunderstands thinking the two girls have a need with Sophia.
“Hey, since you can be with Miss Sophia, is it possible that you are the rumored man?”
“Rumor?”
Hearing something he did not know from the second girl, Airen became curious.
“You haven't heard of it? All this time the children of the Claudia Family were only six and all were women. But recently, there was a rumor that recounted the seventh child of the Claudia family who had been hiding his existence coming into the academy. And he said, he's a boy.”
The first girl told the rumour.
Seeing the match of the rumors with her, Airen could not argue that it was not her.
“It seems that the rumored is indeed me. You don't have anyone else.”
“It should be, ya~ Because it feels impossible if Miss Sophia is with a stranger. Ah, unless that person is her fiance or something like that.”
The second girl nodded. Airen laughed wryly at the final sentence the girl said.
“Hmm, I was a little wondering why you were hidden. Why is the new seventh boy being released to the public now?”
“Soal it …. True too, yes ...”
Airen frowned so as not to mislead the secret and did not give a reasonable answer to the question of the second girl.
“Actually, I also just found out that I'm part of the Claudia Family. Previously I lived as a regular family.”
“Eeh~ You apparently do not know too, ya~? Very unfortunate~”
The second girl looked disappointed.
“You live in which area before?”
“Then it ...”
Having another question from the first girl, Airen finds it difficult to answer. It has been commemorated so as not to divulge its origin from another world.
In those difficult moments, someone cleared his throat behind the two girls. Everyone's attention was immediately drawn to it, and it turned out that there was Sophia who folded both hands in front of the chest.
“N-Miss Sophia …. S-Good morning, Miss Sophia.”
The first girl nervously greeted.
“Ya, it's a beautiful morning.”
Sophia nodded in response to his greeting.
“K-Then, we decided to withdraw because we want to go to class.”
“P-Excuse ...”
Then the two girls ran away.
Airen and Sophia noticed their departure. When the gazes of the two met, Sophia took a deep breath.
“Designed for a while you've spread charm and tease just any girl on the street. Just-there's.”
“T-Width charm!? I didn't do anything–”
Of course Airen denies any charges levelled at him. Sophia cut off her words.
“Ya, yes. I hope you didn't divulge about your origin from another world or about our marriage of seven. I told you, the existence of another world is completely kept secret from the public. And for our wedding seven, it's kept secret so that strange noises don't pop up.”
Sophia sat next to Airen. He took out a canned drink from the white plastic he was carrying and gave it to Airen.
Airen accepted it, while Sophia took out another canned drink for herself.
“Thank you. Since it's been commemorated, where might I tell it.”
“Really? I also warned you not to carelessly talk to strangers, but what happened?”
“Soal it …. That's something that can't be avoided.”
“Hmph-deep. You really like looking for justification, huh?”
Airen could only smile bitterly as he was constantly blamed by the girl. Then Airen's attention was drawn to the canned drink Sophia gave her.
“What could you have gone earlier for bothering to find a drink for me.”
“H-Huh!? Why do you think that!?”
“T-No. Did I get me wrong?”
“I'm looking for a drink because I'm thirsty. I happened to buy two, so I gave one to you.”
“B-so.”
Airen had no choice but to accept what Sophia said.
But he remembers. Before Sophia leaves and tells her to wait on the spot, Airen complains that she left her drinking bottle at the residence.
Then Sophia took out another item of white plastic. It is a medium-sized bottle of mineral water. Sophia handed it over to Airen.
“What does this mean?”
Airen was confused because Sophia also gave him a bottled drink after giving him a canned drink.
“Of course for you! No need to ask obvious trivia like this!”
“Sama-sama, that is how it should be.”
Seeing Sophia's attitude so far, Airen wondered. Is it possible that the original Sophia was kind and considerate but would not be considered that way?
‘If true, it's really funny.’ Airen did not expect Sophia to have such sweetness. Unintentionally a knotty smile was created on his face. ‘Sophia turns out to be a shy cat.’
“Are you done? If you have, we can go to class now.”
Sophia got up from the chair and dumped her cans and plastic waste in a nearby garbage bin.
“Ah, wait!”
Airen rushed to finish his canned drink. He kept the bottle of mineral water Sophia gave into the bag and threw the empty can into the trash.
The two walked together to their class.
Shortly walking, they arrived at the door of the class in question. The signboard on it says ‘2-A1’. Sophia entered first which was then followed by Airen.
Airen's view goes around the whole class.
Nothing special he thinks. White ceramic as a floor, gray walls with several photos of famous people, student tables arranged in rows of 5x6, a table in the front corner of the class, and a table, lockers and bookshelves pack at the very back of the class, whiteboards that use markers, as well as ornamental plants at some point.
“Sit wherever you want. But if you can't sit beside me.”
“Good.”
Airen nodded at Sophia's words and followed her wherever she went.
Sophia took the front row seat, right in the middle. Airen must choose between his right and his left.
He hesitated for a moment. But Airen decided to take Sophia's left seat and sit there.
“Entah why .. it feels so nervous because it is too close to the board.”
Airen expressed the feelings he was experiencing now. In addition, he was also nervous because it was too close to the teacher's place. He thought he should have taken the seat to Sophia's right.
“Well, there's nothing to worry about. Just act like usual. And you should know this, Airen: by sitting closer to the teacher, your brain will absorb more knowledge than it does sitting in the back. You can focus more on the lesson and will not fall asleep. Your full potential power will not come out if you are stupid.”
Sophia hit him with a small piece of advice to the point that Airen had no words to answer.
“B-Alright, I get it. I'll remember that.”
“If it is so then great.”
After the conversation ended, they became silent on their respective benches.
One by one the students came to the class through the door and greeted each other. Some of them also greeted Sophia, then she returned their greetings with a casual response.
Everyone in the class seems to know each other, leaving Airen who does not know anyone other than Sophia as a cousin and also her lover who must be kept secret from others.
Then when Airen felt estranged, a man came and greeted Sophia.
“Sunny morning, Miss Sophia. Looks like there's a new face here, who's the guy next to you?”
He is a snake-tongued man with narrow yellow eyes and dark blue hair.
“A bright morning is also for you, Mr. Zian. He was the only boy from the Claudia Family that had been hidden away all this time. You must have heard of it.”
“My name is Airen, greetings.”
Airen introduced herself after being introduced by Sophia.
“Reacted right. It turns out that the rumor wasn't someone's, yeah. Ah, my name is Zian Persi. Just call Zian like the others.”
“Yes. Greetings, Zian.”
Airen greeted the man's outstretched hand and shook hands with him.
“The only Claudia Family boy who's been hidden, huh? Why are you hidden?”
“Soal it—”
“Entahlah. No one knows between us. Grandpa's thinking is hard to guess.”
Just as Airen was about to reply, Sophia cut in and explained. Surely he lied. Sophia knew clearly why Airen had only appeared now.
“Means Airen herself also just found out that she is actually a member of the Claudia Family. Hmm, sounds interesting. Before staying at Claudia's residence, where did you live before?”
“He lives in a faraway country that even Strike has not touched. Grandfather refused to tell the exact location and he also told Airen to shut up where he came from. Right, right?”
Sophia glanced at Airen with a gaze as if commanding him to follow the groove he made.
“I-Yes, that's right. I also don't know why I was told to cover up about where I used to live.”
Airen has no choice but to. Although he was most reluctant to lie, inevitably Airen had to do it.
And somehow Zian seemed to trust their story enough. He clamped his chin while slightly contemplating.
“Hmm~ Why is that so, ya–? But thinking about it seems pointless. You see, we're talking about families with the most influence in the world, one or two oddities must have been common to them.
“Ah, doesn't mean I'm mocking Claudia's family it's weird or something. I hope Miss Sophia does not put my words to heart.”
Realizing that the voice of his heart had unintentionally come out, Zian immediately straightened out the intent of his words. On one hand, Sophia was behaving as usual.
“Cause. From the beginning I never took a headache with the words that came out of your snake tongue.”
Even so, Sophia's answer sounded quite tempting to Zian until he became laughing.
“That's what Miss Sophia is like. Sometimes the words that come out of your mouth feel spicy. Well, I'll go to my chair then. This year will be very interesting. I say retreat, until later.”
Leaving behind a few words, Zian went to his seat, leaving Sophia and Airen in their place.
Seeing his movements and attitude, Airen became curious about what Sophia thought. He asked her after she was far away.
“The man named Zian was ... is he good?”
“Entahlah. At least he has considerable guts for daring to talk to me even trying to pry information about the Claudia Family from you right in front of me.”
“K-If your response is like that, I can't comment anything.”
Indeed, Sophia had an intimidating air and made the people around her so scared. But Zian can talk to her more casually than anyone else, as if not thinking what Sophia would do if she messed around.
But what amazes Airen the most is Sophia herself. He can overcome people like Zian and create stories that he can accept easily.
Airen thought he had a lot to learn from Sophia.
