The Choice of Old Man

The Choice of Old Man
Trapping Questions

"Brother Alexander!" call Keenan while waving your hand. The man in the black white uniform felt called out and circulated a glance.

"What's calling me here?" alex said as he approached Keenan's desk. The man immediately told him to sit on a high bench in front of the barista table.

This afternoon, Keenan was in a cafe located not far from the Pradita Dirgantara High School. On the street. After driving Alexa to school, she returned home to change clothes and bring evidence that had been collected. Keenan searches for Alex at school, persuading the young man to take his time. Unsuspecting, Alex agrees to the meeting.

Keenan's order arrives, delivered by a barista. The man ordered two glasses of extra hot Americano coffee. Keenan sipped his coffee, before finally speaking up.

"Look, before I get to the point. I want to ask you one thing." Keenan unzipped his bag, pulled out a piece of search paper for a missing child 9 years ago. The man threw it at Alex. "That's lo, right? Alexander Wijaya's. Son of Sofyan and Athifa."

"Alexander Wijaya's? Sofyan and Athifa? Who're they?" alex pretended not to understand. "So, you call me just to make—"

"Jawab used to be my question." cut Keenan fast. His face was flat with no expression.

Keenan's flat face made Alex knock his nails on the table. He must be careful to speak. Moreover, in front of him now is a police detective. His index tap was getting faster, indicating the man was thinking about finding the right answer.

"Obviously not me, I'm this .. ." For a moment, Alex breathed heavily. "This guy is an orphan. Since I was a child, I have lived in an orphanage, I don't know where my parents and my sister are either."

Keenan responded with a nod. Then the man asked again. "Oh ... Where's the orphanage you live in?"

Alex rolled his eyeballs to the left right. "That's ... I forget. I haven't been there in a long time."

"But you'll never forget this." Keenan opened his laptop, then turned it towards the young man. "How does it feel ... Can't kill the person you love the most?"

The laptop display shows CCTV video footage in the central room, coincidentally the position of the camera is in the corner of the kitchen wall directly facing the door. Seeing that, Alex's wrist shook violently. He killed many without feeling guilty, but this time he did not. Alex was traumatized by himself.

“Lo sure isn't Alexander Wijaya? Don't you think I'm the same I didn't try to make love to you because of this?" search Keenan.

"Mother's Dad?" Alex is confused.

Keenan laughed out loud. "Haha! I don't know what I should call you now. Sister-in-law? Or ... Sister-in-law?"

"Don't you love her husband Alexa?"

Unintentionally, Keenan stood pounding the table, surprising all visitors in the cafe. The man also reflexes sitting himself with one leg in the fold to the thigh.

Keenan sipped his coffee again before replying. "Gue knows you lied about the orphanage. The look from your eyes. I don't mean to be honest, or misahin you as brothers. But, if you make Lexa's position in danger. I'll sue you for attempted murder."

"I don't really lie."

"This time you're safe, because I still haven't found any solid evidence." Keenan put his laptop in his bag. Before leaving, he did not forget to put a hundred thousand coins on the table.

However, Keenan's steps stop once he realizes the bandage is behind Alex's white uniform. The man turned to Alex. "Why's your back?"

"Huh?" Alex was surprised.

"Lo's back."

Alex was silent for a moment. "Oh, here. I got hit by the same guy who almost killed Alexa."

"Currently, there's a killer who hit himself."

Keenan actually left after saying that. Alex thinks cops like Keenan are easy to lie to, but it's not easy. In fact, the young man continued to be asked trap questions.

Alex took a deep breath. "Kok, I felt like I was in an interrogation, huh, earlier?"

Alexa walked over while pushing the glass door and entered her cafe. On the doorknob hung a board that read closed, indicating the cafe is closed because there is a family event.

Sofyan and Athifa were sitting next to each other on a long wooden bench. While in front of them, there was Megane, Sofyan's mother. Alexa approached their desk in the right corner by the glass window. The girl placed both hands on the grandmother's face.

Alexa sat down and put her lips together. "Kok, you know what, anyway?"

"Maybe Eyang forgot his favorite grandson." - Athifa.

Sofyan rolled his gaze towards the door, looking for the son-in-law. "Where's Keenan? You're not with her?"

When asked, Alexa shrugged both of her shoulders. "Where do I know. Maybe he's busy."

"Well, tuh! The man has come."

Alexa reflexes look in the direction of the mother's view. He was stunned to see Keenan wearing a white T-shirt with a black jacket as his outer. The man shook the back of his parents-in-law and grandmother's hands. Then, land a sweet peck on Alexa's forehead, cheeks, and lips.

"Sorry, yes, I'm late. There was work in the office." Keenan showed a friendly smile to his wife's family. Alexa just rolled her eyes lazily. Keenan sits next to Sofyan, who is currently facing Megane, Athifa, and Alexa.

"Yes, um, just noticed lo?" The girl glared at Keenan. "Sampe didn't come home. Go away, go home too."

"ALEXANDRA WIJAYA!" the screams of the grandmother echoed throughout the room. Alexa hugged Athifa so surprised to hear the sound of the woman's tantrums. "Where is your manners? Your husband is older than you, you should be polite."

"Yes, sorry." Alexa nodded.

"It's okay, Eyang. At home it's also common." Keenan looked at Alexa. "Yes, right, honey?"

The girl was grumpy. "Yes, Brother Keen."

Shortly after, the phone in his bag rang. Alexa got up to the empty table and immediately picked up the incoming phone.

"Jwil ... Willa?" Alexa stared at the screen of her phone. No, not the screen that was stared at. But Wilda Evina. The video call featured Wilda sitting with her hands tied behind her back, her mouth covered in black duct tape. Wilda was currently in an empty building that had nowhere to go.

His eyes were wide at the sight of a man in a gray hoodie emerging from the side of the screen, thrusting a knife at Wilda's neck. A thread of tears dripped unstoppably on Alexa's cheek. He immediately closed his mouth with his hands.

"Gue please release him ... ."

The man switched to Alexa. "Please? It won't."

Next, the man landed his knife in Wilda's stomach many times, until blood splashed on the ground and the girl's face. Not only did he get there, the man flushed Wilda's body using kerosene.

"Goodbye Alexa." The man lit a match and threw it. The flames burned Wilda's body.

"Wilson!" Alexa's cries broke.

Of course after hearing Alexa mention her best friend's name, all eyes were on the girl. Keenan was quick to run to hold Alexa tightly, so he did not see what happened on his phone again. Alexa was crying, wetting the man's jacket.

"Lo's home alone, Lex?"

"Taxi, really."

"Let me anther. Our house is this way."

"No, Wil. I don't want to take care of you."

The conversation became their last chat, as well as the closing of their last encounter.

"Gue will destroy your happiness, Lexa."

The video call is still connected to Wilda's number. The man spoke again for the last time, before the call was completely cut off.

Keenan continued to hold Alexa tightly and whispered in the girl's ear. "Gue will find the culprit until we meet, I promise you."
