"What time is it?"
I was awakened by the sound of my cell phone alarm that kept disturbing my sleep. Time is 05:15. I got up from sleep, did some stretches, and got out of my bed. I saw the calendar at my door.
"It's 7 again?"
I scratched my head and went to the bathroom. I finished my needs in the bathroom and went to the kitchen. I checked the fridge, maybe there's something I can eat. Unfortunately, there was no food at all not even any groceries. Maybe today I have to buy more food in the mini market. I let out a breath. I decided to go back to the room, intending to wear a uniform. I looked for a uniform in the closet hanger, but I didn't find it. And sure enough, my uniform came off the hanger and fell off. Make it crumpled back after I ironed. Did I iron it back? Or do I wear it directly?
I finally decided to put on my uniform. I took my bag and my cell phone, and I headed to school. I stopped my steps at the door. I just remembered my wallet was left behind. I had to go back to my room and find my wallet. Fortunately, my wallet was on the table so I could find it right away. I continued my journey to school.
I went to the bus stop. I decided to stop by the mini market first and buy some bread for breakfast. Arriving at the bus stop, I waited for the bus while finishing my bread. The bus came and I got on. I don't like crowds. I chose to bow my head, afraid I might see something I didn't want to see. At first I wanted to sit on the very end of the cage, but because the passenger seat was full I had to stand on my own. I always held my gaze, until finally a mother nudged my shoulder.
"Sorry son, I didn't mean it, by accident,"
"Ah, it's okay, ko-"
I was shocked to see my mother's face. A thick red thread dangled above his head. I checked around and found that all the passengers and bus drivers had similar threads dangling over their heads, only that the bus driver was more concentrated than the passengers. This is the thing I least want to see. I panicked at once.
Shit, I can't hide my panic. All are clearly engraved on my face.
"That's okay, ma'am. Don't worry,"
She insisted on helping me but I kept rejecting her. At last she gave up and gave me a packet of bread. I thank him. What am I supposed to do now? The conditions are getting complicated. I panicked and confused. I felt I could not bear to let these people especially that mother experience it, but there was nothing I could do. I stopped the bus and tried to get off quietly. I feel guilty, but still I can't do anything.
I got off at the bus stop and calmed myself down. Take my breath back and wait for the next bus to arrive. After waiting 20 minutes, the next bus arrived. I took the bus slowly, and observed all the passengers. Fortunately no one had a red thread dangling over his head. I breathed a sigh of relief, even though my feelings were not calm. I was stabbed in a chair not far from the driver. I remember my mother again. I almost cried, but I held back as much as I could. He's a good man. I ate the bread that mother gave me. The bus stopped suddenly and it surprised me. The road suddenly became stuck.
"What's this about? What's going on?" said one passenger.
The passengers were confused. The bus driver kept honking. Even though I could have expected it, and I knew there was nothing I could do, I still felt more guilty. The bus driver tried to call another bus driver who was the driver of the bus that was scheduled to depart before this bus. Right, it was the driver of the bus I was on before. But no one answered. The driver was confused and decided to wait. The sound of her lanin car horn sounded so loud and made the streets more noisy.
After being silent for 15 minutes, finally the bus can go back even though it has to take a detour. After a long journey, I finally reached the bus stop near the school. I checked my phone and looked for the latest news. Sure enough, there had been an accident about 1 km from the bus stop where I got off the first bus. A bus crashed into a roadblock and plunged into a ravine beside the road. The number of victims and their causes is unknown. Although I can't guess the cause, but the number of victims I can guess even when I'm still waiting for the second bus. They will all die today. Not right at the time of the accident or after. I put my phone back in and continued my journey to school. My name is Zenon Evander. I can see death approaching you.
