The Girl of Rhein

The Girl of Rhein
Hazel in New Place part 2

The man who helped Hazel was not far from Hazel's age. She invites Hazel to sit down for a while and happens to be near there is a cafe that is still open.

"What's your name?"

"My name is Hazel Waltz. I'm from California, and I came here looking for someone's address."

"Meet me, my mama is Orlaf Danner." The man's hand reached out to Hazel.

Hazel hesitantly welcomes the hand of a man named Orlaf. The two of them sat facing each other and Hazel seemed to be holding her warm tea.

"I salute your courage to come to a foreign country alone. Where is your family? Why did you even come here yourself?"

"Both of my parents are dead and I live with my father and stepbrother who don't treat me well at all."

"So that's why you came here?" Hazel nodded.

"My late mom said I could meet my mama's best friend here, and who knows she could help me because in California there was nothing I could do about it. I want to forget all the things that happened to me after the departure of my parents, Orlaf." Hazel's face immediately looked sad as she was reminded by Rhein and all the memories with her.

"Try to show me the address, who knows I can help you find your address."

Hazel takes out a letter from her mother's best friend and Orlaf reads the address. He immediately read the address of the letter.

"Do you know where that address is?"

"Of course I know. Do I want to take you now?"

Hazel was silent for a moment. "Do you really know? You're not lying to me, are you? I'm sorry, I'm afraid that you'll do as much evil as the driver."

"Are I a bad guy, huh?"

"We cannot judge by face. The proof was that the driver looked good and friendly, but he was a bad guy."

"I'm serious about knowing where the address is and it's not far from here."

Hazel was silent again. He was still afraid and hesitant to believe with the help Orlaf offered.

"So you tell me where to go if you want to go to that address, then let me go there myself."

"You really still don't believe I'm a good person? Yes, it is like this. I'll ride my bike and you'll walk after me, but if you're tired of walking you don't complain."

"Huf! Actually I'm still tired of running and it's pretty far."

Orlaf laughed at once. "You are both funny and confusing." Orlaf moved from his place to his motorbike outside. Hazel was forced to follow him because she was also confused about who else to ask?

"Orlaf, I-."

"Good." Orlaf is already on top of his sports bike. Hazel stood there. "If you don't believe and don't want to go up, I just stay here and you can ask someone else. Sorry, Hazel, I don't have much time. I am also very sleepy because all night I do not sleep because there is a campus event."

Orlaf has started the engine. He also wears a helmet.

Hazel eventually climbs in because she doesn't want to be left alone there. Although there during the day, but the situation there is a bit quiet.

Hazel is finally piggybacked by Orlaf to go to that address.

"Handle, Hazel. I'm gonna speed it up quick."

Orlaf immediately gassed faster and reflexively Hazel hugged Orlaf's body tightly.

Hazel rests her head on Orlaf's back. Not long ago Hazel felt the Orlaf motorbike was no longer running.

"It's over, Hazel."

"Is this his house? You're not wrong, Orlaf?" Hazel was surprised to see such a big house. There is a very large park there.

The gate was opened and the motorbike of Orlaf re-entered the long road to the main house.

Arriving inside the gate, a beautiful woman was carrying scissors of plants looking at Hazel and Orlaf.

Orlaf took off her helmet and smiled at the beautiful woman. "Hi, Mom. Someone's looking for you."

Hazel gave a sigh at what Orlaf had just said.

The beautiful woman looked at Hazel who had gotten off her bike.

"Orlaf, who is he?" The woman's face was confused.

"Orlaf, you're right, isn't this the address? Not wrong, you?"

"Of course it's true, it's my home address, Hazel."

The beautiful woman approached Hazel, wanting to take a closer look at Hazel's face.

"You who? Do I know you?"

"I'm Hazel Waltz, daughter of the late Soledad Waltz. Is it true that aunty named Keiko Nagawa?"

"Oh God! You're my best friend's son, the owner of that gentle face?" The woman named Keiko immediately hugged Hazel tightly.

"Tante, my mother is dead."

"Oh God! He should have never returned my letter. Why did you come here alone? It wasn't the last time Soledad said he was married to someone else. Where's your stepfather?"

"It's a long story, Auntie."

"Mom, we better get Hazel inside first. He had just experienced a bad incident the first time he came here."

"Bad incident? What bad happened to you, honey?"

"I was almost robbed by the online car driver I was riding in, Auntie."

"Oh God! But you're okay, aren't you, Hazel?"

"He's okay, Mom. He managed to escape and met me earlier."

"Yes, then you go into the house first. Tell me everything that happened to you there. Orlaf, you take Hazel in first because mommy wants to clean up mommy's garden tools."

"Okay, Mom!"

Hazel and Orlaf walked together. "Why is it a coincidence like this, Orlaf?"

"I don't know myself." Orlaf shook her shoulders indifferently. "But now you don't know anymore, don't you think I don't have the look of the bad guy?"

"I'm sorry, I was just traumatized by the incident when the man pointed the knife at me."

"Oh yes, Hazel. Will you be here long? Honestly, when you first met you, you were a nice girl. Both of our mothers can be good friends and even become friends. I wish we could be good friends too."

Hazel nodded a few times. "Of course, I want to be your best friend, Orlaf, and maybe I'll stay here for a long time. I don't want to go back there anymore" Hazel said softly and there was sadness in it.

"What's up, Hazel? Are you going through something so bad that you don't want to go back to your house?"
