Chapter 35 - The Dark Emperor

Su Rou brought Ren Yuu to one of the sky islands that were in the residence of the spirit beasts.
In the middle of the small sky island, there was a golden temple that was not too big. In front of the temple, there were eight statues lined up and looked like they were guarding the entrance of the temple.
"That's.." Ren Yuu who had already approached towards the temple, was surprised by the appearance of the eight statues in front of the temple.
"The eight statues are statues of your predecessors." Su Rou said then landed in front of the eight statues.
Ren Yuu who had just landed, stared intently at the eight statues. His gaze was fixed on the first statue that was the statue of Nan Bei Yun.
"So he, the first generation of the Dark Emperor." Ren Yuu said respectfully. He must have heard Eon's story about how the birth of Profound Emperor Darkness.
Then Ren Yuu turned his gaze to the second statue. He had already met Ren Zi in the ruins of the Ren clan before, then he looked to the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh statue as well. Each of the second to seventh statues bore one resemblance, that is, their faces looked extremely cold because the fate they were living with was very sad.
Then Ren Yuu's gaze was fixed on the eighth statue.
"He!" Ren Yuu cried in disbelief.
"Hm? Do you know the eighth?" Asked Su Rou astonished.
"No, I don't know him. But I've seen his statue too and he delivered a message to me when I inherited the thing he once held." Ren Yuu said.
Right, Ren Yuu had once seen the statue of the eighth Profound Emperor. And that was the first time he had obtained Dimensional Life that led him to the path of cultivation. Even his predecessors left a message saying that one day they would meet again.
Ren Yuu did not know what it meant to meet again someday even though the eighth Profound Emperor Darkness holder was gone by now. Otherwise, he couldn't possibly inherit Profound Emperor Darkness into the ninth generation.
"What message?" Su Rou was confused by Ren Yuu's words.
"He made a message that someday we'll meet again." Ren Yuu replied in a surprised tone as well.
"Oh? What he said was right. You must have met him back in there. Because, every successor of Profound Emperor Darkness would meet his previous predecessor inside this temple." Said Su Rou.
Ren Yuu was speechless because his predecessor was like a good fortune teller.
"Put your blood on that altar. It is only with your blood that this temple will open. And this was what Nan Bei Yun made before his death arrived." Said Su Rou.
"You know Nan Bei Yun?" Ren Yuu asked in surprise.
"Yes. We all know him. Although I may not be 1 million years old, with this special place, the time we experienced was slower than it should have been. This place of ours is the exact opposite of the Sealed World." Said Su Rou.
"What?" Ren Yuu grew even more shocked and his body trembled uncontrollably. With a very slow time, if he trained in this place, he would have very much time.
"Don't try. Because, you will die if you linger in this place. Only spirit beasts could live here. If it was anything else, they could only stay for 1 year in this place. If more than that, your life energy will be drained out. Even Nan Bei Yun could only survive in this place for 10 more years with the incredible level of strength he possessed. You have to realize what that means." Said Su Rou.
Ren Yuu's face twitched as the opportunity he wanted turned out to be nonexistent at all.
"Who created this place?" Ren Yuu asked curiously.
"When you're done entering the temple, I'll tell you a few things about this world, even if not all of them." Reply Su Rou.
Ren Yuu let out a long breath. He slowly walked towards the altar then slashed his finger and dripped blood onto the altar.
As Ren Yuu's blood dripped toward the altar, the simple-looking temple door shook slightly then slowly opened.
"Come in. I'll wait here." Said Su Rou.
Ren Yuu gave a small nod then slowly walked into the special temple for the Dark Emperor's successor to enter. As he passed through the door, it slowly closed again. Ren Yuu also sensed that there was a special barrier that seemed to be created from energy that was very similar to him.
Upon entering the temple, the room inside was suddenly bright. Then the aura of Darkness seeped automatically from Ren Yuu's body.
Ren Yuu looked completely unperturbed by the events. He felt something was coming out of himself.
As the aura of Darkness came out, it slowly gathered together and formed the same figure as the eighth statue that was at the entrance of the temple.
"Eighth successor of the Profound Emperor Darkness." Ren Yuu muttered as he stared at the figure of the handsome young man who had ice-cold eyes.
The young man had jet-black hair, all-black clothes, and there was one long Dagger he had hooked on his left waist.
The dagger also reminded Ren Yuu of the fragile Dagger he first held when entering Dimensional Life.
When the figure had formed a whole human, the figure closed its eyes and opened it again.
"Finally we meet, the successor of the ninth Profound Emperor Darkness." Say the figure with a flat face and a lonely look so deep.
Looking into the eyes of his predecessor, Ren Yuu knew that his predecessor had gone through a life so bitter that he almost lost his temper.
"Yes. What was the purpose of this temple?" Ren Yuu asked straight to the point.
The figure nodded small and said. "Before that, I will introduce myself first and say a few things before explaining about this temple."
"I'm Ren Nie, the former Patriarch of Ren's clan on Planet Desolate."
"It looks like you've been holding Dimensional Life. Did you know that it was God's first weapon?" Ask Ren Nie.
"Yes." Yeah." Ren Yuu nodded small.
"If it were like that, it would be easier. I also detected two more God weapons on you. And one of them.."
The eyes of Ren Nie looked increasingly sad. Because, one of the weapons of God held by Ren Yuu is the weapon of God that Ren Nie and his predecessor also sought for their entire lives. The Trident Of Destiny.
Ren Yuu knew what Ren Nie meant, because he also felt that something was forcing him to become an emotionless predator. But it was halted by the weapon of the God he held, the Trident Of Destiny.
And that was what made Ren Yuu's destiny not the same as all of his predecessors.
