The Heir of the God of Death

The Heir of the God of Death
Chapter 02's

The next day at 08:00 am, after taking Rena and Reno to school I immediately left for the Rank-F dungeon again. But, this time it was seen people gathering in front of the dungeon.

"Arkha! Aarkha...!"

Someone called me from a distance in a soft voice while waving his hand at me, I went towards him for what he called me.

"What's calling me, Susan?"

He is Susanti a Protector Rank-A, he has healing skills and buffers to support his team, his skills are very suitable to the position he took as well. We were also school friends in High School.

"Look, I'm calling you to guide our team."

"Huh?! A drive? Why am I driving you guys with this low rank dungeon."

A middle-aged man came up to us at a moment of conversation.

"Eh, Mr. Adrian..."

"Sorry to interrupt your conversation, sir. My name is Adrian Handaru, I'm the team leader of them."

Although he looks old, but I feel a strong energy from him and it makes me less comfortable to be around him.

"I'm Arkha Peteng."

We shake each other's hands.

"If you may know, why is your entire team gathered here? This dungeon is only for beginners."

"distortion."

One word surprised me, so this dungeon had already undergone a change where its rank would increase according to its Mana number, Mana would be calculated using special tools made by the government.

In other words, I'm no longer able to enter this dungeon anymore because my rank is only F and my ability has not made any progress at all, so... I have not been able to explore the dungeon rank above me even if it is only one level.

"So this is why you asked me to guide the team. But, I only explored 30% of this dungeon let alone distort it, so I don't know if the inside would be the same or have changed as well."

"No problem, it's been very helpful to us, so... do you want to come?"

Doubt struck my heart, I didn't know I had to respond to it and in the end I made a decision.

"Alright, I'm coming but may I ask for a share of the loot, just ten level one Krimon is enough for me."

"Don't worry, you'll get 10% of the loot. So, we had a deal, didn't we."

I just nodded and the man walked over leaving me and Susan to tell the rest of the subordinates.

"When you talk to him you feel something, don't you?"

"Yes, I feel like he's very domineering. If you can tell what rank he is?"

"New Rank-C, but he said he's one step away from getting a B."

I thought this old man was amazing, even though his age was not possible to do extreme activities, but he broke all that.

While this woman beside me was the same age as me showing very rapid development, she said her body could hold a very large amount of Mana since the beginning of her awakening, she said, it could explain his skill with regards to healing and buffering which required a lot of Mana.

"Alright, let's go there too" he said, patting me on the shoulder.

Susan walked first in front of me and I went behind her. After a few steps we were already in the crowd, and all the gazes were immediately on me.

Seen a familiar look to me - a gaze that always humbled me, I thought that among them no one agreed that the lowest rank and the very weak lead their way.

"Well, are you all ready?"

"Ready, Sir!"

"One more time, Mr. Peteng, please help."

"Hmm," I said as I nodded.

Besides being strong he was also a wise leader, I felt a gaze not demeaning me at all but a gaze of admiration towards someone. Maybe it's just my feeling, it's been a long time since I've felt someone's name.

Mr. Handaru advanced and entered first the dungeon portal, then the others followed behind.

"Hey, why are you still daydreaming" said Susan.

"No, it's just that I feel uncomfortable this way when facing this dungeon, even though I never felt like this when entering this dungeon so many times."

"Maybe it's just your nervousness, it's your first time partying with someone else, other than me who used to always accompany you exploring this dungeon."

What he said was true as well, maybe I was just nervous because just this time someone wanted to ask me for help in terms of dungeon affairs.

...•••...

A moment in the dungeon....

"Alright, everything is in, this time Mr. Peteng will-"

"Choor! Hey, what's wrong with you?!"

Someone from behind them panicked, seen a girl trying to calm someone down. That person was Arkha Peteng, this man drooped down while clutching his mouth with one hand.

"Huk..! hup.. hoeck...!"

Instantly the fluid along with the entire contents of his stomach came out, because he could not hold it anymore so he had to vomit quite a lot. The girl who was always beside him panicked at this, as she directed her hands at this limp-looking man and a white light appeared that started to surround this man.

But....

"No, I'm fine."

"Are you sure it's okay?! Your face looks so pale!"

"What's going on, what's going on?"

Worried that the team leader Adrian Handaru rushed to the back, shocked to hear the screams of his members.

"Susan, what happened to, Mr Peteng?"

"I don't know, sir. Suddenly it was like this."

Because as chairman, it is his duty to pay attention to his people. Carefully Adrian watched and looked at the man who was supposed to guide him and his team.

"I think it's a natural condition."

"What do you mean, Father?" Ask Susan.

"Because you were born with a Mana-endowed body so much so you never felt this right, Susan."

"Never, but... should we just ignore it?"

"Don't worry, eventually he can get used to it at once this is a good experience for him. Because, this was the first time he had entered a high-rank dungeon, in other words, a dungeon that had a high Mana capacity would directly make contact with the living things inside. And all this time Mr. Peteng, just exploring the Rank-F dungeon which had the lowest Mana capacity, when he first entered it instantly the Mana within his body thrashed and did the 'Heart Shield,' automatically active protectors for the Mana core of living things."

"That's it, but...."

Seeing the face of his anxiety, the chairman told all his members that the expedition was postponed temporarily because the guide was not healthy.

When saying that many disagree, he says time is wasted just for the weak to guide them and he thinks it's better to just run this without the guide.

Seeing this Adrian could not hold them, however....

"Sir, don't put off. I'm fine."

The limp-looking Arkha tried to get up with all his might.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Ask Adrian.

"Yes, Sir!"

Looking at the doubtless gaze of this young man, Adrian smiled faintly then said:

"Well then, Susan, give him a buff of physical strengthening and mana so he can get more used to the environment."

Susan simply nodded and immediately did so, she directed her two hands again forward and a light appeared from her palm, then the light immediately enveloped this young man.

He thought the light that enveloped him felt warm and comfortable.

"Thank you, and I'm sorry to bother you."

"Don't say much!"

Seen the sullen face of this girl, she knows that this friend is trying to look strong and tough even though people always look down on her.

After the light dimmed, his body instantly came back as fresh as when he first entered this dungeon.

"Because it's over, Mr. Peteng, please come with me to the front."

This young man simply nodded and followed him from behind.

"Is it true that this feeling I feel is due to the surge of Mana in me? I felt nothing like it, this feeling was much worse that I had ever felt as if I had been stabbed by thousands of needles. I hope this feeling I feel, doesn't happen to our fate up ahead."
