The Hidden Princess

The Hidden Princess
Suicide Trial

As morning greeted, Annita went to visit Xaveryn's room, she found Xaveryn sitting at the dresser. Annita was startled yesterday by Xaveryn's unusual behavior. Immediately Annita approached Xaveryn, the little girl smiled kindly at him while tidying up the tangled hair.

“How are you doing now, Your Majesty? Is it fully recovered?” tanya Annita takes over combing Xaveryn's hair.

“I'm much better, I'm sorry I worried you but now you don't have to worry about me anymore,” replied Xaveryn.

Annita breathed a sigh of relief, Xaveryn's fever had recovered, there was nothing else she was worried about, it was precisely today Xaveryn looked more cheerful than before. Annita had always accompanied her in this desolate tower, she did not understand the reason why the Emperor had put Xaveryn away from the palace. Even the Emperor had never visited Xaveryn since the girl was born. Sometimes Annita feels sorry for Xaveryn, a child who should need special attention from her parents but that is not the case for Xaveryn.

“Annita, today's weather is sunny, how about we take a walk to the lake? After all the funds are behind the tower, so there is no harm in us taking a short walk,” said Xaveryn.

Annita's expression immediately sumringah, usually Xaveryn never asked for a walk, she just kept quiet in the room.

“Alright, I will prepare some snacks to take to the lake. It's the first time you've stepped outside the tower.”

Then Annita immediately moved to prepare everything from clothes to food that they planned to enjoy by the lake. The clear weather supported the Xaveryn road plan, although there was only a forest around them, but this was enough to stretch the boredom in the tower.

Every step that climbed the tower, there was only silence that greeted them and every corner of this tower in life Xaveryn was filled by dozens of knights who fell lifelessly due to rebel attacks. Little was Xaveryn unable to take her mind off the frightening event.

Arriving by the lake, Annita immediately spread out a small mat and put all the food she brought on it. The scenery by the lake was truly incredible, as if the scene had been designed a long time ago.

“Yeah, I forgot to bring a spoon. Can you wait for me here for a moment, Your Majesty? I'm going into taking a spoon.”

Xaveryn nodded in agreement, Annita rushed back into the tower to go get a spoon. Xaveryn's cheerful expression slowly faded, she put on a fake smile in order to lie to Annita.

“Down is not a bad thing, I did not expect to open my eyes again because I was just the source of the main problem here.”

Xaveryn got up from a sitting position, his small steps leading to the middle of the lake accompanied by an empty and luminous view. Xaveryn decided to end her life by immersing herself in the middle of the lake. One step at a time, the cute dress she was wearing began to get wet from the lake water. Xaveryn really had no desire to live, he was very tired of living a life that was awaited by suffering in plain sight.

“That's weird, why did the spoon in the kitchen of the tower suddenly disappear? I had to open a stock of new spoons,” muttered Annita just out of the tower.

As Annita's gaze headed toward the lake, she froze pale as she watched Xaveryn's tiny body sink to the bottom of the lake. Without a second thought, Annita runs to save Xaveryn.

“YOUR HIGHNESS!” Annita jumps into the lake, relying on her swimming ability is good enough, Annita trying to reach Xaveryn's body that is getting immersed towards the bottom. It was fortunate that Annita had managed to save Xaveryn, but the body of the little girl was cold, with almost no consciousness left in her body.

Rushing Annita brought Xaveryn back to the tower, she quickly informed the palace to report the matter and asked the doctor to come check on Xaveryn's condition. How anxious Annita was to see Xaveryn's frail condition, she did not even stop trembling after finding Xaveryn submerging herself to the bottom of the lake.

“Actually, what are you thinking, Your Majesty? Why did you go to the middle of the lake? Are you really desperate because the Emperor and your brothers did not visit you all this time?” Annita was crying at the side of Xaveryn's body that was lying helplessly on the bed.

Waiting for a few minutes, a handsome blonde-haired and bespectacled man came with two palace knights.

“I don't know, I left the Princess for a while, but when I came back again I saw her immersing herself into the lake,” Annita replied as she sobbed.

Count Reiner Wilmer, a noble doctor, had hazel eyes, a hallmark of his having the blood of a member of the imperial family. Reiner is the younger brother of Emperor Graziella, who has inherited the title Count Wilmer.

“Luckily you managed to save him before it was too late, for now the condition of the Princess is fine but you have to keep a good eye on him. I'm afraid the Princess will do even crazier things,” Reiner said.

“Good, Sir, I will watch over the Princess well.”

Afterwards, Reiner stepped out of Xaveryn's room, not forgetting that he had prescribed Annita the medicine. However, Reiner did not completely leave the tower, so he decided to stay overnight to monitor Xaveryn's situation.

At night, Annita went out for a while to get food for Xaveryn. Without him noticing, Xaveryn had woken up from her unconsciousness. The little girl's eyes were still blank, there was absolutely no hope of moving on with life.

“I'm still alive,” murmured while getting out of bed. Slowly he moved towards the balcony of the room, he looked down at the balcony, all he saw was an empty expanse of land.

“My room is on the fourth floor, if I jump down for sure I will not survive.”

Xaveryn's head lifted, his pair of netra hazel staring straight up at the star-studded sky. The light of the full moon of the night pointed at him, a bland smile rising on his tiny lips.

“Die in the moonlight is an honor, at least people will remember me as the Princess who died when the full moon,” murmured again.

Xaveryn closed her eyes, she hoped that she would not wake up again in the future, all this pain she would bring with her to the realm of death. At the same time, Annita enters Xaveryn's room, but again she finds Xaveryn planning to commit a foolish act.

“Your Majesty, what will you do? Don't stand there, it's dangerous for you. I beg you not to do that.”

Xaveryn turned her gaze around with a smile towards Annita, and she jumped from the fourth floor to the bottom of the ground.

“KYAAAA, PRINCESS SIR!” Annita's shrieking voice split and echoed to every corner of the tower, neither catching nor stopping Xaveryn's suicide plans.

“Annita! What's up?!” Reiner came upon hearing Annita's scream, and he found Annita

standing on the balcony crying.

“Mr Princess ... The Princess jumped down, I couldn't stop her.”

“What?” Reiner and a number of knights ran up the stairs to the bottom to help Xaveryn while hoping nothing bad happened to the precious little girl.
