Chapter 14: Meeting a Couple

Susi and the three women retreated in a few steps back, some of them hiding behind a stocking rack.

Seeing that they were already far enough away, Elvino began to prepare.

The long sword he was holding emitted a blue light in the dark room, the radiance grew thicker and stronger, then Elvino slashed forward issuing a slash of energy smashing into the door of the room in front of him.

Intrigued by this one zombie, Elvino walked slowly to approach them wanting to know their reaction as he approached.

Next, these two zombies raised both of their hands that had long claws aiming at the approaching Elvino.

Fortunately, Elvino had good reflexes and he was able to dodge this surprise attack.

After these two monsters attacked, they just constantly waved their hands trying to grab Elvino who was slowly moving away, but both of their legs remained still in place without any sign of wanting to move.

Knowing this oddity, the four women were brought into the room to tell what kind of zombie this one was.

Mika and the two women besides Lusi, the three of them know what kind of zombie this one is.

"They are both Zombie Standers, including weak zombies at level one," said Mika who looked at the zombies with a disgusted look.

Kana nodded and added, "This zombie is not very threatening, it's not dangerous because it just stays in place and won't move."

After hearing all the answers of these three women, Elvino kept a good look at the information they provided.

As Elvino stared at this zombie for longer, his eyes suddenly sidetracked with something that was on the table inside this room.

Elvino walked up to the table and took a closer look at something on the table.

"A flashlight and a letter?"

Elvino's hand picked up a flashlight that was still working fine even though it was dusty and dirty, as well as a piece of paper that was a letter.

Immediately, Elvino read this letter on the great curiosity within him.

Looking at Elvino who was standing still beside the table, the four women walked up to Elvino's side and looked at the table covered with a lot of dust.

After reading this letter, Elvino's feelings became sad because this letter contained something of information that invited tears to come out.

The letter Elvino finds comes from a man who has a wife, and his wife becomes a zombie from a zombie bite on her leg. Although his wife had turned into a zombie, this man still wanted to be next to his wife no matter how dangerous it was.

Walking with his wife who became a zombie, this man finally found this place and tried to survive. However, the bond on his wife's arm that had become a zombie opens up and the man becomes a zombie along with his wife here.

The writing on the letter was written before this man became a zombie. The reason Elvino knew the two zombies in this room was that the couple was because the husband already knew his fate, one day he would become a zombie with his beloved wife.

In addition to the sad story, in the letter there is an important message.

Instead of reading it to his four women, Elvino asked the four of them to read this letter.

"Read this letter, you'll know the truth."

After handing over the letter, Elvino walked to the front of the two zombies and looked at him with sad eyes.

The four Elvino women read together the letter given by Elvino and their faces all changed while reading the message embedded in the letter.

In the letter it is written that the men of the world are very few, the man who is with his zombie wife says this, and says that humanity will be difficult because the men of this city are fewer and fewer.

What Elvino says he is the only man left in the world is likely true.

Raising his sword to the side, Elvino's eyes looked resolute instantly, and he cut the heads of the two monsters to pieces. "I'm sorry, true love doesn't deserve to be in this world anymore. You guys deserve better in heaven."

Next, they all came out of the room and took some important items, such as a flashlight, a few matches left, and some yellowing paper.

Susi and the others were silent while bowing their heads. They still doubt Elvino's statement.

After those words fell, Elvino turned around and walked towards the exit of the shop.

Susi looked at Mika and the others in confusion, then she decided to obey Elvino's words and ran after Elvino.
