The Lord Of Mysteries
Chapter 43: Search

While looking at Klein, Leonard smiled and nodded.

"Then do you need anything from them?"

He had teamed up with Old Neil and his friends many times, so he naturally knew that divination needed the media, especially when the person foretold did not exist.

Klein thought for a moment before saying to Klee, "I need some of Elliott's latest clothes that haven't been washed or canned. It would be best if you had the accessories she used to wear."

He was trying to pick a regular medium, not something that usually invites questions.

But even so, Klee looked puzzled.

"Why?"

After his question, he added, "i have a photo of Young Master Elliott on me."

Wh why? Because we were forecasting his location. Klein momentarily lost his answer.

If he answered truthfully, ignoring the fact that it violated the confidentiality clause, Klee would likely immediately storm and rip the contract while condemning, "This group of cheats! If that works, why don't I find the most famous Spirit Medium? in Awwa County!"

Beside him, Leonard Mitchell chuckled and said, "Mr Klee, my partner, um—partner keeps a unique pet. His kisses are sharper than dogs. That's why we needed the clothes that little Elliott was wearing and the things he used to wear to her to help us find her. As you know, clues usually take you to common territory."

"For the picture, we need it too. We both need to know what little Elliott looks like."

Klee accepted his reason by nodding slowly.

"Are you going to wait here, or are you going to come with me to Mr.'s residence. Vickroy in town?"

"Let's go together. It saves time" Klein replied simply.

Not only did he want to try his abilities as a Beyonder, but he also wanted to save the child.

"All right, the train's downstairs." As Klee spoke, she took out a black-and-white photo and handed it to Leonard.

It was a picture of Elliott Vickroy alone. He was about ten years old with rather long hair that almost covered his eyes. There were clear spots on his face and he did not appear to stand out.

Leonard glanced at him and handed it to Klein.

Klein watched closely and stuffed the photo into his pocket. Then, he took his wand and put on his hat. He followed the two out of the Blackthorn Security Company and took the train down.

The interior of the car is rather spacious. It was lined with thick carpet and a small table to put things on.

While Klee was around, Klein and Leonard did not say a word. They quietly enjoyed the experience of crossing the path that fused with the carriage.

"The driver of the train is quite good." Leonard broke the silence after a while with praise and a smile.

"Yes." Yeah." Klein replied nonchalantly.

Klee forced a smile and said, "Your praise is his honor. We'll be there soon…"

Fearing to warn the kidnappers, the train did not stop at Vickroy's residence. Instead, it stopped on the side of the nearest road.

Klee held onto the umbrella and got back together. After waiting for a while, Leonard spoke to Klein again.

"My last estimate wasn't aimless.I was just trying to tell you that the notebook would definitely appear again. Maybe, maybe soon."

"That's really not a pleasant guess." Klein used his chin to point towards the driver of the carriage outside, indicating that he did not want to discuss sensitive topics with the outsiders around him.

Leonard whistled and turned to look out the window. He saw raindrops crossing the glass, leaving a blurry mark. It made the world outside completely blurred.

After a while, Klee returned with a bag of goods. Because he was walking in a hurry, the tip of his pants was dirty and the front of his shirt was a little wet.

"This is the outfit that Young Master Elliott wore yesterday. This is the Storm Amulet she used to wear."

Klein took it and glanced at it. He found it as a formal suit men mini—small shirt, vest, bow tie, etc.

And the Storm Amulet is made of bronze. It was engraved with a symbol representing strong winds and ocean waves, but it did not trigger Klein's perception.

"i will tell you in detail the incident that led to the abduction of Young Master Elliott. Hopefully, this will make it easier for you to find her ..." Klee sat down and described the nightmare that happened in the morning, which she said, hoping that the helpers she went through great difficulty to hire would help.

Klein and Leonard were not particularly interested. All they care about is the number of kidnappers, if anything unusual happens, or whether they have guns.

"Three", "normal", "armed with firearms.." After obtaining the desired information, they said goodbye to Klee and rented a two-wheeled light carriage.

Unlike public cars, there are rental cars that are four-wheeled or two-wheeled. They are charged either by time or distance. The latter is four pence per kilometer in the city and eight pence per kilometer outside. The first one costs two soli per hour or part of it. After the first hour, there is an additional charge of six pence every fifteen minutes. In bad weather or if a customer needs to leave faster, the rates can even be higher.

Klein had heard from Azik that in the capital, Backlund, the drivers of this train were famous for quoting outrageous prices.

For him, taking a private train was quite luxurious. However, he did not have to worry about this at the moment since Leonard had thrown two one-soli notes to the carriage driver.

"Fill in time." After Leonard gave his instructions, he closed the carriage door.

"Where are you going?" The driver of the train was very happy and confused as he held the two banknotes.

"Wait a minute." Leonard turned his gaze to Klein.

Klein slightly nodded and took out Elliott's clothes. He spread it on the floor of the carriage and then wrapped the Storm Amulet around the handle of his cane.

He held a black silver-encrusted wand and hung it straight over Elliott's clothes.

He gathered a ball of light in his head as his mind quickly turned silent. His brown eyes quickly changed color to become deeper as he entered a half-Cogitation state.

After repeating it seven times, he let go of the handle of his black stick, but the stick did not fall to the ground. It remained standing in front of him even though the carriage was shaking!

A momentary but invisible shock occurred around Klein and he felt as if a pair of eyes were staring at him.

Over the past few days, Klein had occasionally felt this sensation when he was in a state of Cogitation or Spirit Sight.

With a hint of fear, he stared at the stick with his pitch-black eyes. He recited once more in his heart, "Location Elliott."

"Elliott's Location."

After he finished saying that, the stick fell down and pointed straight ahead.

"Straight." Klein held onto the cane and said in a deep voice.

His voice sounded a little ethereal as if it could pierce through an unknown world.

This was one of the divination abilities he held. It's called "Finding Dowsing Stems." The tool of choice should be wood, metal, or a mixture of both.

Under ordinary circumstances, he would need two real dowsing rods. The dowsing rod is shaped like two straight metal wires tapering to the edge. He will hold on to the shorter side and rotate it to ensure the correct direction. But as an Astrologer, Klein realized that through practice, he could search for people directly using this method. He can also use his cane as a substitute for dowsing rods. The direction of the fall of the stick is the direction of the object it is looking for.

As for the Antigonus family notebook, Klein could not remember it at all. Without the slightest impression, there was no way he would find it.

"Right walk." Leonard instructed the driver of the carriage loudly. "We'll let you know when there's a need to turn."

The train driver did not understand why it was necessary, but the note in his pocket and his passengers' willingness to hand over the money kept him quiet. He chose to follow the strange instructions.

The train was walking slowly, passing one path after another.

Halfway through, Klein used the Dowsing Rod Seeking to correct their direction.

After the train circled a building once, he finally made sure that Elliott was inside. It had only been thirty minutes since they had said goodbye to Klee.

After removing her wand, Klein did not continue to wear Elliott's clothes. Instead, he put down his staff, which was tied with Storm Amulet directly to the ground.

His eyes darkened once again as the raindrops around him suddenly spun in place.

The stick fell forward with a slant. Klein pointed to the stairs and said, "There."

"Sometimes, I really envy Old Neil. Similarly, I envy you now." Upon seeing this scene, Leonard smiled as he sighed.

Klein glanced at him and replied in a calm tone, "It's not difficult. If you want to learn, you can definitely master it.. Your perception should be very high, right?"

Leonard nodded and laughed.

"It's not a good thing."

He sped up his pace and walked into the building amidst the rain that ended.

Klein was afraid of wetting his formal coat, so he ran behind him.

The building has only three floors. It was similar to a unit block from Earth. The entrance to each floor is located along the stairs. There are only two units per floor. Klein used the Dowsing Rod Seeking on the first and second floors, but his staff remained silent while pointing upwards.

The two of them calmed their steps and arrived on the third floor. Klein once again placed his black stick on the floor.

Whooshing sound!

A gentle breeze blew across the stairs as her pupils changed color. Darkness seemed to suck the souls of people.

Whooshing sound! Whooshing sound! Whooshing sound!

Sobs seemed to be heard around them.

Klein loosened his palm as the staff with the magically entwined Storm Amulet stood upright.

He secretly reads "Elliott's Location" again. He saw his black staff fall silently as he pointed to the right room.

"They should be there." While Klein took his wand, he tapped on his glabella twice.

Various colors saturated as he looked at the right room. He saw all sorts of auras within it.

"One, two, three, four. The number matched. Looks like Elliott. Mr. Klee said they had two hunting rifles and one revolver.." - whispered Klein.

Leonard laughs.

"Let me recite a poem to them."

"Why be a kidnapper? Why can't you happily become a civilized person?"

He put down the bag in Elliott's clothes and took two steps forward. His expression suddenly turned calm and melancholic.

His magnetic and deep voice gradually sounded.

"Oh, horror threat, red hopes cry!

“At least one thing is certain—that this Life flies;

"One thing is certain, and the rest is a lie; it is a lie;

"The flower that once bloomed forever will die…"
