The Past Winter

The Past Winter
Self Rescuing

Like when the auction schedule will be done on the surface some time ago. One of the guards on duty accidentally leaned against Rainar's cell. Then the officer gazed into the cell so that the officer's and Rainar's eyes met. In an instant the guard's face instantly turned pale and his body was limp. He quickly wanted to complete his task immediately.

I, who at that time noticed the incident from behind the straw fiber that Rossie had given me, saw Rainar's grinning face towards the guard. How scary Rainar was when grinning using a face full of wounds everywhere.

The same face that only showed me the sweet smile of a teenager. Now I can't see him anymore, or laugh with him. It hurts to know that he no longer exists in the world.

The horrors that now occur in the prison room with so many bodies scattered everywhere make me afraid and relieved. Because I don't have to die like they did in there before seeing a world that makes me very curious.

The big animal and I came out of the basement door, and went straight up the long circular staircase that was on its right and left side flanked by rocky walls leading to the surface.

In that narrow space was also a lot of black smoke that remained there. It was as if they were waiting to attack as soon as I climbed those stairs.

I closed my nose tightly, trying to prevent my lungs from getting exposed to more black smoke. Along the stairs, I saw many large doors similar to the door where I was locked. Between the stairs I faintly saw many pitch-black shadows strewn across the stairs.

I passed through about seven doors before finally stopping in front of the door which looked more luxurious with a deep red color like blood.

If I don't see it wrong, the floor I'm locked on is not the last floor. There is a ladder leading down. The stairs leading to a darker place, as if they were pointing pierced into the bowels of the earth.

We got to the end of the stairs. The reddish glow from there felt extremely hot. The animal broke down the last door at the end of the stairs. It looked like a large hall and a stage with many multi-storey seats, just like the auction that had been on my mind, was in the middle of the red whiz.

There were also bodies lying there burning, and there were also blackened bodies. The smell of buildings and the charred smell of burning flesh spread everywhere. The sighting of that day was terrible and gripping. My heart seemed to jump out and run.

CRUST!

A large beam of collapsed building roofs gave rise to sparks that spread out in all directions. Several times the debris of the building fell down. The wolf dodged the falling debris in all directions. My tiny body in her muzzle was flung to the right and to the left in no direction.

“Uhuk... Uhuk...”

I can't hold myself back anymore. I can't stand the smoke coming in through my nose. Even though I had closed tightly with my hands, the smoke escaped and entered my lungs.

The wolf looked to the right and left, trying to find a way out in the flames. The wolf's head looked up. I followed the direction of the wolf head. I saw a star-studded night sky peeking out from the crack of the roof.

With a single jolt of his foot, the wolf leapt high breaking down the roof that was burning violently using its huge body. I felt like I was bouncing high up in the air, out of a fire that was devouring a building.

When I got to the surface, I saw a large, luxurious building that was burning. Light up the surrounding wilderness. Making the night air that should be cold pierced the skin to be warm due to the magnitude of the fire. It turned out that all this time I was locked in the basement of an auction building located in the middle of the wilderness.

My little body swung on the wolf's muzzle, following the wolf's footsteps away from the building. The wolf took my body further into the forest.

Before long, the big wolf lowered me slowly. He looked at the little girl lying unconscious under his feet. A moment passed, I slowly opened my eyes. My red eyes were flowing in all directions. Found a wolf sitting sweetly by my side.

Under the brightly shining moon, the figure of the animal was now clearly visible. The fur is white from head to tail and looks as bright as the moon tonight. Slight black stains on his body and face as proof that breaking through the flames that were craze earlier was not a dream.

His entire body was very large, ranging from head, body, legs, to tail. Even its claws were large and looked extremely sharp. My current height is probably half that wolf's leg. I saw a mountain in front of me.

The eyes of the large animal shone brightly, like the warm and very beautiful morning sunlight. If the wolf was going to be painted into a painting, then to paint his eyes there was no liquid ink anywhere that was worth it. But the painter will color it with melted pure gold.

“Where are we now?” I asked as I turned my body to pay attention to the location around which was different from the last time I saw.

Our place now was a vast grass plain as far as the eye could see, not a single tree was standing. Whereas before there were many large trees that towered up into the sky. It was as if we had moved to another world during my unconsciousness earlier.

“What do we move the world?” I asked the wolf in front of me. “Hei! Can you talk? You know where we are now?” Now I shout repeating the question, because I think this wolf is a talking magical creature.

The big wolf did not respond to my question. He just sat upright like a statue looking straight ahead without blinking. The wolf head turned to stare at the full moon shining brightly above the sky. I also stared at the moon up there as if welcoming me under the reflection of its rays.

“Beauty.” My murmurs are sitting on the surface of the grass that is getting cold.

Me and the wolf sat next to each other looking at the wisdom of the moon above our heads. The wolf's tail was wrapped gently in my body. Its fur was like a soft blanket that enveloped my small body. The two brightly shining moons accompanied us on a long, cold night.

We both enjoyed every inch of the beauty of the sky presented in plain sight. The night air that cools every second it drops snow from the sky. It was such an amazing sight that I could not describe it with words.

The wolf who had been sitting quietly enjoying the night view turned its gaze towards me who was now in the middle of the tail winding.

“A-Are you going to eat me now?” I said followed by my teeth grinding with cold. But the wolf just looked straight at me.

Those huge golden-yellow eyes stared unblinkingly, as if devouring my body with the look of his eyes. I immediately stood up and bent my tiny body ninety degrees “Thank you for saving me, White.”

BRUK!

Instantly I fainted on a meadow covered with snow.
