CHAPTER 18

Genie's house is crowded with officers as police arrive to check on the mayor's death. The murder was carried out at the victim's home without any knowledge of the family or guard officers assigned there.

As the investigation and forensics teams examined, Trissa and her brother were secured by the police. The children could have been the targets of the next murder, given the death of the Jordan family as if serial and planned.

Psychologists from the police are looking after all three by trying to entertain the children's psyche. They both did not want to enjoy their breakfast.

"Miss, are you gonna believe what we're gonna say?" ask Teresha.

"certain. Just tell me what's on your mind," the policewoman smiled kindly so the children would feel comfortable with her.

"Trissa saw it all" whispered Teresha.

"wait. What do you mean your sister saw the murder that happened to your grandfather?" ask the police to whisper.

"Yes.." whispered Teresha again.

"What is your purpose in telling me this? Do you trust me completely?" the police are trying to take the children's hearts.

"We only believe in you, miss. All the cops here are freaking me out" Tracy said.

The psych officer exhaled slowly. Actually he wanted to immediately ask the boy named Trissa to say everything. But he had to be patient when taking information from her.

"All right then. Before, I'd ask you Trissa, would you like to answer that?"

Trissa nodded slowly.

"So, is it true what your brother said just now? You saw your grandfather murdered?"

Trissa nodded again.

Police women feel sorry for children. Especially Trissa who witnessed the murder.

"Now, tell me slowly, will you? How can you see it in person?"

Trissa looked at the policewoman without blinking. He tried to tell me everything he saw that night.

"Yesterday night, I want to play with grandpa. I also entered secretly into her room and hid under the table to surprise her with my doll."

The policewoman hugged Trissa quickly. He did not want to make her think back to the horrible thing that a child like him should not have witnessed.

"It's okay, baby, I'm here. Thank you for telling me everything. You too, kids. Thank you for sharing this secret with me," the policewoman gently hugged the three girls.

Based on the story of the children's mouths, the police move in search of the crazy young man in their place. Everyone who was asked who the crazy young man was, directed the police at Keanu.

Genie who is trying to investigate the truth itself can not do anything when the investigation team began to leave for the home of his lover.

Once in front of Keanu's house, police raided in and found Keanu sleeping.

"What's this about? Why are you all in my house?"

"We received a report about the mayor's murder. And one of the witnesses mentioned your name. So, just come with us to the police station to get checked out."

"But who killed the mayor? Why did you guys arrest me?"

By the time Keanu was herded out of the house, the new Genie came and hurriedly prevented the police.

"The genie?" call Keanu.

Genie looked at Keanu for a moment then asked the policeman who was carrying Keanu, "Are you guys going to arrest someone innocent?"

"Just calm down, miss. We'll check it first. If he's not proven to kill Miss's father, then we'll take him back."

"alright. I hope you guys don't put him under pressure."

Keanu silently followed the direction of the police who were about to take him into a patrol car. During the walk to the car, one by one he memorized anyone who threw a spicy curse at him.

In the following hours, Keanu examined fingerprints, DNA or anything that could prove the truth. After that, he also got a few questions when taken to the interrogation room. It's about who's crazy.

"Are you that crazy young man?"

"I work and overtime at Mr. Yoshep's meat restaurant. Coming home from work, I slept at home. Well, it feels very tired to work when the restaurant is crowded and when a waiter does not leave. My job is hard and exhausting. But anyway? Why do you suspect me without proof?" Keanu played his words.

"As per the rules of investigation, it must be done. You'll be free after our investigation to get the cleanest results on you."

Keanu shut up and tried to relax. Actually he was worried. How could the police suspect him if there were no eyewitnesses or fingerprint evidence?
