The Release That Witch

The Release That Witch
Chapters 101's

What does this mean? Roland rubbed his finger over the handwritten line, did the original owner of this ancient book also have to fight against monsters in the wild? He lowered his gaze further and continued reading -

"Devil grows every day in number, but every day we are diminishing."

"The "Stone of God's Retaliation was also unable to stop them. It would only work against their incomparable strange power, but even without relying on their magic, they were still fierce and terrifying enemies."

"The Holy City of Taquila has fallen into the hands of the enemy, the only option left for us is to spread out in all directions."

"Above the mountains, across the river. Trying to escape as far away from the Gates of Hell as possible."

"But next time, where should we run?"

"But, this isn't something I should think about. I'm gonna die, Natalia."

"Devil power is destroying my body, and every single one of our medicines is not working."

"I'm writing all this down because I have a simple problem that I'd like to ask you to do."

Alice's test of the God's Punishment Army was nearing its end, and the test was a success. Even when facing the outstanding Demon Soldiers they had nothing to fear, but he forgot his important point, even if the God's Punishment Army wins, this victory is not ours. "

"That's right. God's Punishment Army, will lead to our end."

"To stop him, you're all that's left."

The text he managed to read not long ago, Roland swept his gaze once again from beginning to end. He then closed his eyes and began to think about what he had read. Trying to see it from Cara's perspective.

Assuming that he is unaware of the existence of Satan. And he thinks the Devil is referring to witches. Using this assumption, it would be easy to imagine that the book was written from the perspective of a member of the Church, who was fleeing from the witches. Then combined with the widely circulated rumors - after all, rumors say that the witches are the accomplices of the Devil, and that they get their magic from the Gates of Hell.

The most likely way of thinking that the Church actually wants to hide the truth: That they changed the entrance to the Holy Mountain to the Gate of Hell, and that for several hundred years, that they have been, the witches already had access to the Holy Mountain, and that they found there eternal life. So the witches became more and more, but the Church warriors became less and less.

This theory has a lot of holes. For example, the author of the text said that the other party possessed strange powers when compared to ordinary people, obviously no magician possessed such characteristics. Another example is that even under the suppression of the Stone of God's Retaliation, witches could still let the church suffer a crushing defeat, which seemed too strange. So in the end, the reason why Cara traveled to the wild, is still unknown. Maybe he was just so excited that he didn't realize that it had affected his judgment. There was still some content that he could not understand, perhaps the real cause stood in it?

Roland preferred the latter possibility.

At least he knew by now, that the Devil described on the last page was not a witch, but a description of an actual alien race.

But all this did not lessen his doubts, but only increased his already numerous problems.

In the end, since when has the Church fought against Satan?

Even so, Roland repeatedly checked the contents of the book, but he was still unable to find any relevant content. The Church has established their base in the North, since the end of the war of faith. The base was built to defend itself from the huge crack in the Unpassable Mountains against the demonic beasts. Later, they simply built a fortress on the Hermes plateau, and called it the New Holy City. These two cities were now connected together, one at the plateau and the other at the lowlands, but both of them were used to withstand the attacks of demonic beasts and not Demons. Moreover, he had never heard of a place called Taquila.

If all this were true, the Church would have no reason to hide it. According to the church history books, they had always been able to withstand the attacks from demonic beasts, and were also able to achieve great victories in the battle against the witches. This was all explained in great detail as if they were afraid that someone would forget their great reward.

The final question relates to the Army of God's Punishment.

Apparently these Church members did not want to see the God's Punishment Army appear, furthermore, they even entrusted others to stop the person responsible for the experiment. Apparently, they seem to have succeeded? Roland only knew that the Church had an Army of Judges, but he had never heard of the God's Punishment Army - of course, it did not rule out the possibility that the former 4th Prince was just ignorant.

However, if they could really develop a warrior strong enough to fight the Devil, wouldn't that just increase the Church's strength? So why did the author of the note write that it would cause their destruction?

The place where they found this book, should have additional information.

"The way he found the book. Do you know where he found her?" Roland lifted his head and asked Nightingale.

"When I joined the Witch Cooperation Association, this fraternity had set foot on the road to the Holy Mountain." The nightingale who was still chewing the dried fish replied in a daze.

But Wendy once mentioned, that at first the fraternity did not call themselves the Witch Cooperation Association, they were just a pair of mages from the Wind Sea Region. Also among them are Cara, Wendy and Scroll. After that when they left the Sea Wind Region, they found a secret meeting place within the forest. But no one expected that there would actually be a secret entrance to the ancient ruins hidden there. "

He bit again his snack, licked his lips and then continued, "But except for Cara, no one else came down to explore it."

"Did he find an ancient book inside the ruins?

"At least, that's what Cara said," Nightingale pursed her lips.

"And then, they began to gather more witches. But it seems that their hideout was accidentally leaked to the Church, which then brought a large army to besiege the meeting place. Only twenty witches could escape, which was less than half. That was when Cara decided to search for the Sacred Mountain. So they established the Witch Cooperation Association, with the aim of finding the Holy Mountain as their highest priority. "

After hearing this story, he once again began to think about it, studying the mysteries while knowing so little was too troublesome, moreover when it was history mixed with legends, leaving a void in his mind. The ancient book did not mention the year of its writing, nor did any other major wars mentioned in any other history books he had read.

The first person involved in the discovery is dead, but maybe we can search for the ancient ruins ourselves.

But for Roland, it was also clear that it was basically an impossible task. The forest in the east was too far away from Border Town, it was more than just a short walk, it was a journey across the entire Greycastle Kingdom. But at the moment the development of its territory is its highest priority.

Roland stood up and walked to the window, there he had the perfect view to the back garden. In the park, the witches were practicing according to his training program. Now that his group of magicians had grown to twelve, it was finally time to establish an organization.

In its conception, the organization does not need any programs or guidelines. It was only designed to facilitate the management of the witches and the abilities they could use, its function would be similar to the future generations of industry associations.

The rules of the organization will also be as simple as possible, there are only two rules: Do not utilize your ability to break the laws of the territory. And, it is forbidden to use your ability to circumvent the law.

At first Roland wanted to use the three laws of robotics, limiting the abilities of the magicians by not allowing them to injure or attack ordinary people and so on, but then he thought that it was actually unnecessary. Their abilities are the same as weapons. When faced with danger, there was no difference between using a weapon or a magician's ability to defend himself. And deliberately emphasizing the difference between witches and commoners, the distance between these two groups would only get more and more separated.

In order not to be illegal, he could not avoid his responsibilities as a scientist and an engineering dog, he had to express himself in the most concise manner.

As for the name of this organization, Roland had long since found a good one.

The new collective's name is "The Witch Union".
