THE SMILE OF THE MOON

THE SMILE OF THE MOON
Emi never thought that people were standing in front of her house...

Time keeps turning fast. It does not feel like the day is changing quickly with the night. And greatly bless those who neglect to sow the seeds of goodness until they are unknowingly at the end of the road.

As usual, the rain came down again. Until midnight, the rain still sounded though not as loud as at the beginning of the night.

Night with darkness and silence is created like a thick blanket of tired places, due to the rigors of the day drain the energy and mind of the inhabitants of the earth. But the night is also created in a third for those who are knocked in their hearts to welcome the call of God. When day grapples with the effort to connect life that is temporary, then night provides one-third of the time for the effort to build a real life that is eternal. The night provides the palace with the highest maqom again commendable for the chosen servants who crave themselves in the long prostration of his tahajjud.

When the inhabitants of the night fall asleep in their sleep and dreams, the chosen servants will isolate their warm blankets and try to warm in the cold of their ablution water. The Creator is the Most Important of all. In eternal life one will be a kind welcome to his chosen servants.

Two men appeared silent in their prayers. Both expect guidance and help to the Most High granting all prayers and wishes. One is in his physical imperfections, and the other truly desires God's gifts and guidance. The two drifted in remembrance and prayers until the dawn of shodiq arrived.

Morning replaced the night. The sun slightly emitted its golden radiance behind the mega cloudy. The intensity of rain this year is very abundant. You must often say God willing if you make promises in these months.

After last night almost fell overnight, this morning with dark that filled the eastern horizon, soon the rain will come back down with a rush.

This morning both Alfian and Emi were both restless in their respective rooms. Restless if the cloudy shade will turn into heavy rain. After a restless night waiting for the morning to come, now they have to wait again until the rain really stops.

Emi wanted to get out of the house as soon as possible to follow the heart that led her to the old building. Alfian was so, he longed to see the white-hooded girl, whose news these days was soothing to his hearing.

Alfian sighing. Impatiently waiting, he came out of his room.

"Where are you going. Soon it rains, I'm afraid you'll be rained and sick. If it's not so important, don't go out first" welcome Ely when she sees Alfian coming out of her room.

"Alfian has to get out ma'am, it's about work. There's something Alfian has to ask Basir," Alfian said, trying to convince his mother.

"Can't the Basir come over here, son. Take her home once," said Ely.

Alfian smiled.

"Well, ma'am, Basir can't leave the counter. There are so many scripts that he has to type. After all the data that Alfian wants to take is on Basir's computer," replied Alfian at length.

"It's still not raining, ma'am. Later Alfian call the Basir to pick up Alfian on the big road. Mom, just a moment," continued Alfian. Miss Ely said nothing. He just sighed while nodding small.

"If your business is done, go home quickly. Remember, don't make me wait."

Alfian smiled and kissed his mother's hand. Bu Ely then took the Umbrella in the kitchen and gave it to Alfian. Alfian went away.

Right after a few seconds Alfian finally arrived at the first level of the old building. The rain started to fall hard. He began to stand facing out the window. He could not wait to stand up while imagining Emi's body from a distance. His eyes were fixed on the direction where Emi always came.

He already knew Emi wouldn't be through today. Emi's not going anywhere because of the rain. But a little not, the long-buried longing was slightly erased when he was in the old building.

How important the old building was to him. Too many memories have been stored for five years. The mute wall of an old building is always his back if he feels tired of the inner struggle. He always wondered, if someday he had a lot of money, he would buy the old building as his residence. He would adopt many orphans in the hope that someone would take care of him when he began to get sick and age. He was sure he would remain alone without a wife until the end of his life.

The rain is getting heavier. Seen a silver car drove through the heavy rain through the window of an old building. Alfian sitting. He still has three hours to be there. After that he had to go home even though it was still raining. She did not want her mother to fret about waiting for her return.

Emi looked disappointed. The rain that he feared would fall finally fell down with a torrent. He had hope when several times the strong wind came crashing. Usually the clouds that clump will be expelled from the sky if the wind continues to blow hard.

With a gontai step Emi opened the door of her room. But just as the door opened, the sound of the car sounded like it was stopping in front of his house. Not long ago also heard greetings from outside the house.

"Emi, look who's coming. I was scolding your father," said Marwan heard from inside his room. Emi stepped towards the door. The window nets were slowly gathered and four people were seen standing on the porch.

Like being struck by lightning, Emi was flabbergasted and pecked at where she stood. The figures standing outside the house were figures he was very afraid to meet lately. It was indeed Kiai Abdul Rozak with his family. There was Kiai Rozak's wife, there was Juwariyah's ustazah, there was ostadz mohammad Alqof and another Kadus in his territory. Emi's body shook. His heart is beating hard.

"Who's Outside the Son." Marwan was half screaming from the room. Emi did not answer. There was another sound of greetings from people outside the house. This time Marwan came out and stepped towards the porch door. Looking at Emi who was just standing in front of the door, Marwan's mom held her shoulder.

"You just shut up. There are guests who say hello really not answered," said Miss Marwan half annoyed with eyes. Seeing that her mother was already nearby, Emi immediately ran to her room. He looks crying.

"Wa aleikum salam" said Marwan as he opened the door. Bu Marwan tried to see more clearly the figure of the guest in front of him. He still doesn't believe. The people in front of him were like strangers in his eyes. But he was not so sure of the arrival of those people.

"Astaghfirullah's. What is right in front of me is Mr. Kiai," said Ms. Marwan. He immediately grabbed the hands of Kiai Rozak and his wife and kissed her.

"What is not wrong that I see is Miss Ustadzah. I had thought that Bu Ustadzah's entourage had the wrong address."

"Ah Mother could have," said Kiai Rozak's wife.

"O yes Ma'am, I used to go to school with Marwan. If only he did not rush to get married, he would have been better than me," said Ustadzah Juwariyah introduced ma Marwan. Bu Marwan blushed in embarrassment.

"Owh, the pantesan of his son, Marwan, is also a naji," Kiai Rozak's wife said.

"Eh, I forgot to enter. Let's Mr. Kiai, Mom, let's all come in" said Marwan.

Bu Marwan deftly cleaned the table and chairs in the living room with a rag he took on the table. When he arrived in the living room, After he considered clean, he was clean, ma Marwan invited Kiai Rozak and his entourage to sit down.

"Please sit Mr. Kiai. Sorry before, the living room is still a mess."

"It's okay Mom. Just plain," said wife Kiai Rozak.

" I took a moment inside, wanted to call father," said Ms Marwan bowed her body asking for permission.

"Oh yes please ma'am," replied Kiai Rozak as he gestured with his hand. Marwan rushed over immediately. As he approached Emi's room, he knocked on her.

"I'm in the kitchen Mom's cooking water." Emi's voice came from the kitchen. Knowing Emi was already in the kitchen, Marwan calmed down and immediately rushed to her room to wake her husband up. But when he opened the door, he did not find Mr. Marwan in the room. He rushed back to the kitchen and found Emi brewing a few cups of coffee in front of him.

"Your father where," said Miss Marwan with a breath of ngoshing.

"There was in the bathroom, Mom, it was Emi who woke up" Emi said in a weak tone.

"Then I want to accompany the guest first. Later when your father is done, tell him to go straight to the living room, yes" Emi nodded. "If the coffee is ready immediately bring it to the living room," continued Marwan as he passed leaving Emi.

Ms. Marwan brought two plastic chairs to the living room. Smiling in front of his guests, he sat down.

"I'm sorry it's been a long time, the father is again in the bathroom," said Marwan as soon as he arrived in the living room.

"Look easy, Mom. We came here with intentions. If you don't mind, maybe we'll be here a while. Hopefully the family mother does not feel disturbed" said Mr. Kiai Rozak.

"It is precisely we who feel happy Pak Kiai and his family visit us. Tumben-tumben we have a great guest in this house."

"Ah mother could have," Kiai Rozak said with a smile.

After waiting for some time, Marwan finally appeared and immediately rushed to greet one by one of his guests. Mr. Marwan then sat in a plastic chair that was offered by Ms. Marwan.

"I'm sorry Mr. Kiai waited so long. I fell asleep and was shocked when Emi told me about Mr. Kiai's arrival."

Kiai Rozak fixed his sitting position.

"It's okay sir. It is precisely we who apologize for coming without telling first" replied Kiai Rozak.

Emi appeared carrying a few cups of coffee into the living room. For a moment the atmosphere was momentarily silent. The people in the living room looked at Emi, who began to serve coffee to guests. Emi just looked down and embarrassedly raised her head. Mohammad Alqof who was near Kiai Rozak was stunned to see the beauty of Emi.

"No, there's one left. I miscalculated yes," said Emi trying to melt the atmosphere.

"Yes, so forget to say hello to Mr. Kadus. He's sorry he couldn't stay here long. He said there are people who want to take care of the land problem," said Ustazah Juwariyah so aware that kadus sir had already left.

After finishing serving drinks, Emi went straight to her room. He had to listen to the contents of Kiai Rozak's talk even though he knew for sure the purpose of his arrival. He hoped there would be no show calling him in that conversation.

For a moment he still heard the crisp sound of his mother returning his guest chatter, But out of nowhere, he could no longer hear the voices from the direction of the living room. Sometimes only the sound of his father's dry cough could be heard.

Emi looks. They may have started with their serious talks. He must be ready because soon his mother or father will definitely tell him to come out.

Emi regulated her irregular breathing. He tried to calm down and try to reflect on some things. It was all probably a barrage of answers from God's instructions to her. He'll just wait and see what happens next. He just needs to think of a wise answer that won't offend anyone.

There was a slow knock from the door of his room. Emi tidied up her hijab. The white hijab she was wearing and replaced with a blue hijab. It was a gentle gesture to his father and mother that this was the way he refused.

Emi opened the door of her room and saw her mother smiling softly behind the door. Ms. Marwan tidied up the hijab Emi was wearing and looked at it closely. He caught something different from the way he smiled and looked at his daughter. Tumben also he saw her wearing her spare hijab.

Ms. Marwan held Emi's hand and took her to the living room. He sat down next to his mother and father.

All the guests who saw him smiled. Sometimes ustadz Mohammad Alqof glanced at him. Apparently, the beauty of the girl exceeded the story she heard.

"Son, maybe you don't know what it means to have Pak Kiai and his family come to our house. Mr. Kiai and the family are here not for father and mother, but for you. Mr. Kiai and his family rate you as a pious and alhamdulillah girl, father and mother are very grateful about that. The prayers and efforts of father and mother make you a kind and simple girl, thank God it can finally come true. Little does it have been represented by a pious man like Pak Kiai." Mr. Marwan wiped away the tears that had started to melt into his cheeks. Ms. Marwan was also seen crying, as well as Emi. Emi turned to look at Mr. Marwan and rubbed the back of Mr. Marwan. The mood became quiet for a moment.

"Sorry Mr. Kiai, like in soap operas alone use all crying events," continued Mr. Marwan who was spontaneously greeted by laughter throughout the room.

"Indeed, Emi's father sometimes works more than Emi Pak Kiai," welcomed Ms. Marwan who was again greeted by laughter throughout the room. The atmosphere that had been solemn and stiff instantly melted away.

Mr. Marwan held onto Emi's shoulder and looked at her fixedly.

"Son, your age is now a very mature age to be married. When mom and dad tease you to get married quickly, it all means that you don't forget your nature to get married, not because mom and dad don't want you in this house anymore." Mr. Marwan took a deep breath and continued his conversation. The guests still looked down upon hearing the conversation.

"Son, who was near the Kiai sir was Ustadz Mohammad Alqof, the only son of Kiai Rozak. He is a man of knowledge who God willingly shalah. He came here to tell me his wish to make you his life partner. Son, father and mother want that someday you get a good soul mate, which is in accordance with religious recommendations. But mom and dad won't force you. I am sure that you remain faithful to your mission seeking guidance from God. As you always tell us, you must have asked for a fatwa on your heart." Hearing her father's words, Emi smiled. His heart felt a little calm. Mr. Kiai Rozak was seen nodding.

"Now Mr. Kiai is waiting for you to listen to your answer."

Emi ventured to face Pak kiai for a moment and then lowered her head again.

"Not to bother with Emi. Just tell me what's in your heart. Everything is arranged by God. What we are doing now is one of our efforts to find the best" said Mr. Kiai gave courage to Emi.

Emi breathed deeply.

"As Mr. Kiai said. If this is one of our efforts to seek the best, I can only say God willing. The time is still long and we don't know what will happen tomorrow" Emi said with a bowed face.

"Subhanallah, Nak Emi's answer is very wise. This answer will not disappoint us. For now let them hold ta'aruf first and then we leave the decision to both of them."

Mr. Kiai's words reassured Emi's heart. And that should be what he wanted. That way no one will get hurt.

"Don't mind if I give her HP number to Emi as Nak Alqof?" ask ustadzah Juwariyah. Emi nods.

Azan Ashar was heard. The rain is still falling even though it has subsided a bit. Mr. Kiai and his party came home. Mr. Marwan, Ms. Marwan and Emi drove him to the terrace of the house.
