The Sword Of Salvation

The Sword Of Salvation
Ch. 6 — Uneasiness (2)

Lukhiel managed to escape from the pursuit of the arrogant woman. At least, that's what he was thinking about a minute ago. Now then? He could only tell that the teleportation ability was quite annoying. Moreover, the woman was not a magician; her teleportation was the spirit power she had, that was why she could be more flexible and free in teleporting.

“You think I'll let you go?”

Lukhiel could only sigh at the stubbornness of the woman. He had deliberately tried to escape from her so as not to have to kill her, but the woman really did not understand. If so, he has no other choice. He had to kill the woman quickly.

“This is your last warning,” said Lukhiel while dropping a cigarette and spawning it. “Go now before I actually kill you.”

“Ha-ha-ha-ha. Bizarre once.”

I have tried, Inner Lukhiel as it darted forward.

In the blink of an eye he was right in front of the woman. However, before her wind-coated claws could tear the woman's neck, the woman had disappeared from before Lukhiel. He appeared dozens of meters behind the demon, his two palms fused together.

“This is not one on one.”

Just after the woman said that, Lukhiel found himself surrounded by five other humans.

“It's six against one.”

All of them exuded a high killing appetite. Their strength is also relatively the same. Ah, that Caliburn holding woman is on a different level. The black-haired man was also stronger than the others.

“You have been planning this since the beginning,” comment Lukhiel—his body is releasing waves of wind in all directions.

The six humans were hit by the wind wave, but none of them bounced. Of course it was not because their footing was too strong, but because Lukhiel did not release a strong wind wave. He was just trying to see their determination, and he immediately understood that they were fully confident that they would be able to finish him off.

“Primordial Devil Lukhiel.”

The call came out of the mouth of the woman holding Caliburn. From what he could see, he was also the leader of them all. He is the youngest, but he is the strongest. And since Lukhiel had never heard anything about the stolen holy sword, it meant that the woman was still a descendant of Arthur Pendragon.

“Today I have decided to be the day of your death. Your head will be brought to Pendragon as proof of my strength.”

Lukhiel once again sighed. Just because he was considered to be the weakest Primordial Devil, kept them so big heads like that? They really need to be taught a lesson; they need to understand what the difference between Ultimate Devil and Primordial Devil is. If they thought playing a game of rocking so would be able to kill him, they could no longer be saved.

“Majulah,” said Lukhiel—the air around him is starting to heat up. “I don't want to kill you, but if you really want to find ma—!”

The shock of the magic circle under his feet made Lukhiel's speech cut off.

It was not only Lukhiel who was surprised by the appearance of the magic circle, but the six humans as well. This clearly shows that this is not them. There was not a single witch out of the six of them.

Then...this is Athrecia Le Fay?

“Lukhiel shit! What are you la—”

Lukhiel could not listen to the screams. The magic circle had first worked and had him teleported away.

“Happy to meet you, Primordial Devil Lukhiel.”

Those words of welcome were what plagued his ears as Lukhiel found himself in a square arena with a side length of thirty meters surrounded by golden bariers in the shape of cubes. He was standing somewhat on the edge of the arena, while a few meters in front of him stood two strong humans.

“Maybe you already know, I'm Arthur IV Pendragon. The woman next to me is Athrecia Le Fay. But you don't have to worry, he won't interfere other than making sure this barrier stays active. It will only be a one-on-one fight. But before we fight, you don't mind talking, do you?”

...* * *

...

The water bullets that shot towards Mariel numbered in the tens, and all of them shot out at hypersonic speeds— five times faster than the sound in the air.

Dodging dozens of hypersonic-speed water bullets at close range is almost impossible for anyone. If one, two, or three is still very likely. Tens though? Well, if it can only be done by those who are above average. And what a coincidence, Mariel was one of them.

However, Mariel did not do it normally. It was difficult even for him. Mariel used a wall of wind to slow the rate of water bullets, only then did she dodge every single bullet that shot through. All that he did was skillfully enough that the water bullets seemed to slow down without cause.

However, the pace of Mariel does not mean straight smooth.

“Water Release: Colossal Wave!” exclaim the ninja who has been crouched with both palms on the grassy ground.

A gigantic wave of water instantly created and shot out at high speed towards Mariel. It was over twenty meters long, as well as its height.

“Extending Blade.”

The wind sword formed at Mariel's fingertips and shot out in a speed that was almost twice the speed of the descent of lightning from the sky. The extension of the wind sword pierced through the water wave and touched the target before the water wave hit Mariel. This gave Mariel the opportunity to break the water wave into two halves with the wind wall that formed taper in front of her.

When the wave of water passed through both sides of Mariel, it was clear that the extension of the high-density wind sword managed to pierce the ninja's left shoulder. No matter if the skin was as hard as (or perhaps more) a diamond, the Extending Blade would be able to pierce through it. It was Mariel's quickest and deadliest attack. Dodging it was impossible if it could not detect the formation of the wind sword.

“An answer to your question earlier,” said Mariel while removing her wind barrier and wind sword, “I know nothing. I don't even know what you're doing there. More importantly, say, are you part of Serenity?”

The ninja didn't answer Mariel's question. He turned into a piece of wood that emitted white smoke. However, Mariel did not show any surprise. He also casually avoided the shuriken invasion from behind him. Then he lowered his head to avoid the two kunai that were aiming for his head.

“I heard that ninja was me—!”

Mariel reflexes shut her mouth and looks back when one of the kunai turns into the ninja. Not only that, both of his hands had slightly elongated and turned into spears.

“Death!”

At this point, Mariel reflexively used her spirit power. Not only had his hand returned to normal in an instant, he had also already exited his demonic form. The sudden change in him took the ninja by surprise. Mariel spontaneously took advantage of the opportunity and gripped the ninja's neck— grips him deliberately lightened so as not to destroy his throat.

“What are you la—arghhhh!”

Mariel reflex took off her grip when suddenly the ninja screamed in pain while holding her head.

Along with the pain that hit his head in a row, the memory he did not know he had entered Celinee's head. His memory seems mixed. Things he should never have done, he did. However, there is nothing more surprising than his memory when he met Madam Rhemea and a witch named Athrecia Le Fay.

The pain that struck his head disappeared after the invading memories gradually stopped. However, Celinee did not feel relieved at all. He was precisely in shock – immeasurable shock. If there is a word that implies shock in a negative connotation beyond shock, it is appropriate to use it to conclude what Celinee is experiencing.

In this world, there was nothing Celinee trusted more than Rhemea. He saved her from the cruelty of Doctor Lergen and his accomplices. The middle-aged woman who gave him a place to stay, gave him the meaning of life. The founder of the Serenity Organization gave him friends and family. Celinee wouldn't think twice about doing whatever Rhemea ordered.

Therefore, knowing he had been betrayed by the person he trusted the most really took Celinee down.

The Serenity organization was indoctrinated with him as an organization aimed at protecting every half demon from Doctor Lergen's experiments. It's an organization that's a shelter for them. It was also the organization that aimed to end Doctor Lergen's crazy experiments. Serenity is a noble organization, solace for those who have to suffer from Doctor Lergen's dirty hands.

But all of it is fake.

Celinee growled furiously with both hands clenched as she reviewed the Rhemea speech in her memory.

“I founded Serenity as a sharing container for experimental results that Lergen could not control. The goal is to make sure there will be no unwanted rebellion and resistance. Rather than having an enemy that has its own brain, it is better to make its own enemy that can be controlled. Don't you wonder, why Serenity hasn't been able to find Lergen's main base despite having been in operation for so long? Besides, my student Celinee, Lergen is my cousin. I'm the first half demon Lergen created. Lergen and I never broke up communicating.”

“But you don't have to worry. Athrecia will manipulate your mind perfectly. When your role is over, you won't even remember that we had this conversation. You can go back to being my lackey like everyone else. No, no, but you have to go back to being my lackey. You have the potential to defeat all three of your seniors after awakening your spirit power. It would be a pity if you had to be turned off. Athrecia, I leave the rest to you—and make sure you keep our relationship a secret from Arthur.”

Celinee twisted those words again and again. And every time his fists rose until they bled. He was so angry about what happened that he ignored the fact that he had just fought with someone. It was only when a slap lodged in her left cheek that Celinee awakened from her own mind realm.

“From yesterday you didn't respond to my words. You okay?”

This teenager..what was the action earlier that dispelled the mind manipulation magic implanted in him disappeared? Did he have a high-level Spirit King to the point of being able to dispel magic from a Rhemea-respected witch?

“...Why haven't you killed me? I'm half demon.”

Now he thought about that question. The weirdness in this situation instantly felt real to Celinee. This teenager is human. Humans are indoctrinated to hate half-demon creatures like him. He should have killed her. Celinee should no longer be breathing. Celinee should have vanished from this upper world. But in reality, he is still alive. He was even asked if he was okay. Does he have a specific motive?

“Guruku devil. Maybe you've heard his name. That's why I want to make sure you're a Serenity member or not. My teacher has a relationship with them. If you were part of Serenity, I wouldn't kill you. If you're not part of Serenity, I'll kill you— unless you can give me a reason why I shouldn't kill you.”

Celinee didn't take long to figure out who the demon was. He had never heard of that person raising someone to be his disciple. However, there was no other candidate he could think of. The only demon who might raise a disciple of a human and have a relationship with Serenity was only the Primordial Devil Lukhiel. Nothing is la—

“Mr Lukhiel!” Celinee spontaneously stood up and gripped both arms of the teenager. “We must tell Mr Lukhiel that everything is a trap!”

Celinee is unable to do anything when Athrecia's magic leads her to kill her two comrades. He is not in a state of being able to do something. But now it's different. He has been freed from the influence of magic that – he has a chance to correct mistakes that he should not have made. Although a demon, Lukhiel is not an evil creature, many humans are even more evil than the most evil creatures. Celinee has to tell Lukhiel everything.

“Come go. Explain everything as we go there.”

Celine didn't wait for any more words. He nodded and released his grip on both arms of the teenager. Then it immediately shot away towards where the fight between Lukhiel and one of the members of the Round Table Knights had taken place. He had previously thought of going to Birmithan, but it was likely that they would not be able to. Directly to the point of location more precisely.

This boy is strong, he will be able to help Mr. Lukhiel if the situation there has already worsened. Then we can escape.
