The Vampire's Wife
1

In the middle of the drizzle that started to come down. A woman named Noa stumbled into the forest to avoid some men hunting her.

"Ach!!!" He was strangled when accidentally a twig penetrated his smooth leg.

Noa continued to run, because the voices of the men chasing her were still heard.

I can't die! If I die they will win!!

Noa bit her lower lip. Resisting the pain on his feet that are increasingly felt when touching the gravel where his feet rest.

While in the kingdom invisible. A wedding in the title is very luxurious with a banquet of many teapots filled with red liquid.

All the guests gathered in the hall. Waiting for the arrival of two brides who will be united in the marriage bond tonight.

"Where's Lucas?" Ask a middle-aged woman named Elena, Lucas' stepmother.

He told a maid to check on Lucas in his room but it turned out that he had returned empty-handed.

"Mr Lucas wasn't in his room." Elena's eyes turned red with pointed fangs that started to pop out.

Her maid who turned out to be a human was scared to death seeing the anger from Elena. He was forced to take the work for the great wages that King Stephen offered him.

"I'm here Ma." Lucas Sahut. Taring Elena instantly disappeared while smiling at Lucas. His stepson plus his son-in-law.

Elena intentionally sulks King Stephen to marry her only daughter named Patresia so that royal power does not fall into the wrong hands.

Without a fight, King Stephen agreed. She pretended not to understand Elena's purpose in doing so so that she could rule the kingdom and apply new rules regarding consuming human blood.

For thousands of years of life. The vampires no longer consumed human blood. The new policy adopted by King Stephen prevented his allies from drinking human blood. If they violate, they are given a severe punishment in the form of death.

King Stephen's goal was to implement the rule so that vampires and humans could coexist without bloodshed.

"He's waiting for you, baby. We're speeding up this wedding to have a party soon at the title." Elena approached Lucas and was about to embrace him.

"Wait for Ma." Reject Lucas is not familiar with his stepmother who he thinks is two-faced.

"What's wrong?"

"Have my request been fulfilled." Lucas lifted the mask in his hand.

"Och it. Of course." Elena showed me the mask on her right hand.

Lucas smiled slantingly as his mischievous plan was unread by his stepmother.

"Hm Mama first. I'll catch up." Elena quickly prevented Lucas' departure with her hand.

"You'll run away later!"

"No Ma. I've given up on refusing this marriage." Elena looked at Lucas in disbelief.

"Yes Ma I remember. I promise I'll catch up." Lucas released Elena's soft handgrip.

"OK fast. Mama wait at the entrance of the hall."

"Hm yes." Lucas passed away going into the room." You son of a dissident!!" Let Elena be forced to go to the front entrance of the hall first.

But weird! Just now Elena came in wearing a mask on request. Lucas was standing right next to Patresia, his only child. As Elena was about to confirm Lucas's face, King Stephen spoke up.

"From anywhere. The full moon is coming to an end. We have to start."

The bridal party entered the Hall to the altar table in the middle of the room. Marriage is quite strange because there is no sacred pledge. The two brides were only told to cut their veins and pour blood into the glass in their hands.

"Change your blood and drink until you are not left so that you will be united in the bonds of marriage like blood that has been mixed into one." Said King Stephen as the man in charge of marrying off all the vampire nations.

Patresia smiled as Lucas thrust half a glass of blood at her. He replies and Patresia quickly gulps the blood as well as the man Lucas thinks he is.

"Start today. Your blood has fused and officially become a married couple."

Lightning snatched, along with a drizzle that turned into a storm. Lucas smiled as he stood in the attic. Look at Patricia's marriage with one of the royal soldiers.

Thanks Dad...

Lucas turned into a black shadow then darted like the wind through the thunderstorm that was happening around the kingdom.

"We're finally getting married to Lucas." Patresia smiled and looked up at Lucas who had not spoken a word since. Lucas' lips are thicker. Instantly Patresia's mind was stirred with doubt. Patresia approached Elena and whispered her worries.

"What do you mean?"

"Like not Lucas." Patresia whispered.

"I'm asking everyone to take off their masks including you Lucas." Pinta Elena half shouted.

Everyone in the audience took off their masks and left Lucas who was still silent.

"Open Lucas' mask." Pinta Elena repeated as she walked closer.

King Stephen was as good as he knew about Lucas' plans today.

I do love you Elena but I love my son more..

"Please. Why are you quiet?" Elena asked started to get emotional. His hand was raised and grabbed the mask of the man disguised as Lucas. Elena's eyes widened, burning red with spiky teeth coming out.

Elena screamed a deafening shrill voice that could be heard by Lucas who had perched on one of the big trees in the forest.

"It's so bloody." Lucas muttered leisurely sitting on one of the small twigs as if his body was so light.
