...But still, Lucas' final decision on the taste of the food was zero. Julian has absolutely no cooking talent, he just likes to experiment with his own cooking and create new flavors—which is not necessarily acceptable to the human tongue....
...————...
"What a weird thing, why doesn't anyone want to give me a job!?"
Julian grumbled as he stared at the device, which featured a chat from his friends saying they couldn't give Julian any work, though they themselves told him to ask them for help when he had a problem, but when he was in this problem why was no one to help him?
It felt like the world didn't even give him a chance to work on his own feet. He had already contacted all the acquaintances he had, but the answer was always the same.
The position he wanted was already taken people or no work at all. Julian was even embarrassed to always ask and even lie to his friends, he could not say clearly that he had lost his fortune in a short time because of his father so Julian told them a lie about the situation.
Julian stood up immediately. Staring at his watch that showed two o'clock in the afternoon, and meant that the person he was looking for was at home right now.
"I don't want to do this, but only he can help me now"
His feet immediately stepped towards the place he would have been there. Julian looked around, the kitchen was his destination and as he had expected the man was there.
She was wearing a dark blue apron with her hands clutching a spoon and the stove lit up, appearing to be cooking something nice for their lunch—Julian approached, he said, without sitting down or talking, he said his purpose directly to the man.
"Sister, please give me a job at one of your restaurants!"
The man with the dark blue aprons fell silent. Lucas is now cooking lunch. His eyes glanced at the little brother briefly, he muttered then answered him without turning around.
"Hmm, can't. It's full, after all, can you cook?"
With confidence Julian nodded.
"Yes! I can cook it"
"Then, differentiate these two spices"
Lucas placed two small jars containing the seasoning powder he had. Julian looked at her for a moment, feeling unfamiliar with the spice.
"Which is turmeric and which is galvanised"
Short words. He only gave a hint just the name of the spice, without knowing anything Julian impulsively pointed at one of the jars that were there.
"It's turmeric"
Then his hand pointed towards another jar.
"And this is galangal, right?"
He finished answering her and Lucas shook his head in response.
"Wrong. You didn't pass the first stage, ckckck"
His words sound annoying. Julian did not accept it, so he lodged a protest with his brother.
"T—please repeat! I know what that thing is, besides cooking spices like that we rarely use"
"Indeed right. This is a spice from Indonesia. Turmeric has many benefits, one of them for the beauty of the face—"
"Sister, I want a job not beauty information"
"I know, you're impatient"
Lucas said while returning the jar back to its place.
"Hmm, just like this. Try to cook something simple.A garlic bread or pudding can also, if I like it you can work on me how?"
"That's easy! I'll make it now!"
"After this is over."
Julian said then sat down sweetly in the kitchen chair. He waits for Lucas patiently who has not finished cooking, while Lucas holds back his laughter from seeing Julian's behavior that does not resemble that of a twenty-seven-year-old man.
Lucas forgot, his second brother could also behave like a child sometimes and now he is looking at it.
After finishing cooking, Julian finally showed his ability to cook garlic bread and pudding according to Lucas' request.
He seemed to focus on cooking, but Julian was not very amateur, so Lucas did not have to watch him while cooking.
Soon Julian finished cooking the food Lucas asked for. Proudly she presented it, adorned with a smile on her face that they—sign want to be praised sister herself.
Lucas stared at the food his sister was serving. From the outside it looks neat, Lucas expects high on the taste of the food in front of him.
Crunches.
One mouthful went into Lucas' mouth, his sense of taste began to taste the food and then he fell silent. Something strange, why does it feel like this? He thought so but his hand again grabbed another food on the table.
The pudding was perfect after he had eaten the dry food, so Lucas tasted the chocolate pudding Julian had made and again fell silent.
It's getting weirder, why is there such a sour taste in chocolate pudding that it's supposed to be sweet? Moreover, Lucas felt another taste there.
"July, what are you using in this pudding?"
"Of course the usual ingredients in the pudding, oh, I added choco chips to make it sweeter and a little lemon juice. Don't you like sour and sweet food?"
Lucas smiled clumsily after hearing a light answer from Julian who apparently modified the pudding recipe with a version of himself, even he based his activities on Lucas's favorite taste.
But still, Lucas' final decision on the taste of the food was zero. Julian has absolutely no cooking talent, he just likes to experiment with his own cooking and create new flavors—which is not necessarily acceptable to the human tongue.
A sigh sounded from the man in his thirties. He rubbed his face slowly, forgetting for a moment about the strange taste of Julian's hand food earlier.
"I forgot who the man who destroyed our kitchen ten years ago, I think you've changed about that charcoal hand"
Julian's face was flushed with embarrassment. Hand charcoal, his nickname as a child because it often makes food so charred not worth eating. Though he had forgotten about the nickname, but it could-be the brother still remember it until now.
"It doesn't feel that bad!"
"It's bad. You must have been kicked out of the master chef straight away if your cooking skills were like this."
Julian grumbling. Though he had tried too, but it turns out he was not good at cooking— very different from his first brother.
"So how? I'm not welcome to work at your restaurant, am I?"
Julian did not give up. She still wanted to work and her brother was the only rope of hope she could hold at the moment.
Lucas propped up his chin, looking at Julian who was like he was desperate about his own job—wasn't he already the CEO? Would Julian want to work outside the family like him?
"You're still CEO, why would you want to work for me?"
In the end he asked. Not usually he is like this, invite a conversation first rarely let alone ask for help—Lucas sure, Julian must suppress the ego and prestige he has to ask for help him.
"I'm not CEO anymore"
"Why?"
"Dad fired me because I didn't take care of the company properly and ignored Elise"
His voice shrank at the end but Lucas could still hear it.
"Yes, that's fatal. If you continue to ignore Elise, I could take her from you"
Julian looked at Lucas with a look of disbelief. She looked for lies on her brother's face, but there was no trace of lies there which meant she was serious about saying that.
"Huh? Doesn't Lucas like Elise?"
"What is invisible? I'm gonna take him because I like him, you don't know?"
Julian was speechless no more. Her brother was too blatant, and it wasn't a joke.
"But I'm his fiancee"
Julian firmly said that. He doesn't take it when Lucas says he's going to take Elise.
"It's not necessarily you. If Elise likes me, I'll change her fiance to me,"
"But Elise doesn't like you sister"
"Don't Elise like you?"
The short question succeeded in making Julian quiet. Right, does Elise have the same feelings for Julian? All this time he treated her unkindly, no wonder that Elise hated him right.
Julian could not reply to his brother anymore. He shut up, thinking about whether Elise liked him too or if he liked Lucas who was always nice to her.
Lucas smiled with a grin. It was funny to see Julian's hesitant and indecisive expression this way, when he had vehemently refused the engagement to Elise but now he was even thinking hard whether Elise had feelings for him as well or not.
Not wanting the issue to drag on, Lucas eventually switched the conversation.
"I accept you working in a restaurant but you as a waitress huh. Come tomorrow at the New York branch near the Lilac florist, I'm waiting for you there"
Right after saying that Lucas left, without waiting for an answer from Julian who tried to call his name to stop.
'I'm a waiter?'
