The Part 11

I ran towards the crowd of people who were trying to put out the blazing fire.

" Call the fire department ! " i shouted at the people there.

" We've reached out, they're on their way "answered someone who was there.

Jesus, where's Zoey ?

I pressed Zoey's number, and then I heard an answer.

" Zoey... You all right ? Where are you ? " tanyaku.

Zoey coughed.

" Dave, help me ! I'm on the 2nd floor" Zoey replied, her voice trembling in fear.

" I'll help you, I promise. Whatever happens, I'll save you. Wait for me, honey ! Hang !" my spoken.

And then the phone line disconnected.

I ruffled my hair, I had to save Zoey.

Oh, God ! How is this ? I can't wait for the fire department to arrive. Zoey can't be helped.

" Dave, where's Zoey ? Where's my daughter ? "

I turned around and was shocked when I saw Mr. Rick, my father-in-law was in front of me. He seems so worried.

" Zoey, it's inside, Dad "I said softly.

Seemed terrified in his eyes.

" Save Zoey, Dave ! Please save my daughter ! " the thrill with the body decays on the ground.

I'm looking for a crack to get into a burning house. And I saw the building next to my house. I ran into the building, then up the stairs and out the window.

I stood slowly on top of the wall pillar with my back against the wall. No matter if the pillar is so thin, I don't care about my own safety. All I think about is finding Zoey and saving her.

Finally, I arrived in front of the window of my 2nd floor room. Soon I broke the window with my elbow until I finally got in.

Smoke filled a part of the room on the 2nd floor. Not to mention the heat that also enveloped. I closed my nose with my arm. It felt a little claustrophobic, but I tried to keep going to find my wife.

" Zoey... Zoey... Where are you, honey ? " i shouted while looking.

I came out of the room I was in, and walked into our room where the door was still closed. I tried to reach Pinti even though my eyes were sore and my breath felt tight because of the smoke.

I opened the door, then went into the room. But I didn't see Zoey there. I looked around until I saw a gap in the bathroom door.

Soon I'm heading there, and I finally find Zoey there. Sitting on the floor limp.

" Zoey." I said as I grabbed her body.

" Dave." she nodded and hugged me.

" I'm scared, Dave." he said again.

" Calm down, I'm here to save you" I said, calming him down.

" David... Why did you come here ? What if we both can't get out of here ? " ask Zoey fretting.

" Sthp... Don't talk like that ! We both got to get out of here. I'll take you out, no matter what. Trust me ! " i replied while helping her up and out of the room.

I ran into the room, then picked up a blanket. I wet the blanket with water in the bathroom and then I immediately approached Zoey.

" Cover your body with this so it doesn't feel too hot ! " i cried while putting a blanket on Zoey's body.

" Then what about you ? " ask Zoey while looking at me.

" I'm fine. The important thing is that you survived "I answered back to look at him with an embedded smile.

" No, we use this together. You saved me and I want you to be safe, too ", said Zoey.

" Zoey... Think about your safety ! " tukasku.

" You also think of your safety ! " butted Zoey to me.

" Why am I safe, if you're not with me. If you don't survive, I'd rather die " Zoey added with tears shed on her face.

I hugged Zoey and kissed the top of her head.

" Well, we'll be safe together" I said, finally giving in and putting on the wet blanket.

We both walked towards the room where I entered earlier, because there was only a way out through the window that I broke earlier.

Apparently the fire had reached the front of the room, we ventured to enter the room. Finally, we managed to enter even though in the room it was almost mostly engulfed in flames.

We headed for the window in the middle of the dense smoke blocking our view, also making our breath short.

Zoey was in front of the window. We can hear if the fire department has been down there. Zoey waved her hand while shouting for help.

" Help ! We're here " shouted Zoey many times.

And they finally saw us. They immediately directed the stairs to save us. The staff arrived at the window. One of them reached out to Zoey to help her down.

" Go first ! " groans.

" I'll wait for you under "reply and then smile at me.

Just now Zoey managed to get out of the window, suddenly the ceiling in the room collapsed on my body.

I could still hear Zoey screaming and yelling for the firemen to help me immediately. I can still see Zoey crying hysterically. I finally felt the pain and heat in my body. After that, slowly my breath felt tight and I lost my consciousness.

Zoey has made it to the bottom safely. Mr. Rick and Jackson immediately approached him.

" Zoey... Thank goodness you're okay " said Mr. Rick hugging Zoey.

" Please save Dave ! Save him, daddy. Please ! " zoey pinta.

" But Zoey, look at the building it's almost completely burned... "

" Please, daddy. Dave sacrificed himself to save me. If Dave hadn't come, I'd probably be dead by now "as Zoey gazes pleading with her father.

" I'll save your husband" Jackson stared at Zoey with an indecipherable look.

" really ? Pl-please... Please save Dave ! I'd be grateful to you if you could save Dave " Zoey said staring at Jackson expectantly.

" Well, let's just say this is the kindness I did to your husband who saved you and kept you alive" Jackson said as he left Zoey and Mr. Rick.

Jackson walked towards the fire department. He asks them to save Dave, even he also asks for a special uniform extinguisher because he himself will intervene to bring Dave in front of Zoey.

Jackson is finally allowed to take part in the mission to save Dave. In fact, he himself entered the room that has now been burned mostly along with some firefighting personnel. He lifted the body of Dave who had suffered burns on part of his face.

I should've let you burn to death here. But, this will be the way for me to get close to Zoey. Let it be this time, you're safe. Let's just say I'm grateful that you saved Zoey. But I'll make sure next time you disappear forever from his life.
