PS 54: Storm

Mrs Rima was pacing back and forth in front of the ICU room, the doctor was performing an action in the room. The woman looked anxious, several times she sat on the waiting bench, then again stood up and walked while occasionally peering behind the slightly open window curtains. The dark brown knitting jacket was tightened to his body, Dini came in a hurry.

“It is better that the Madam rest first” Early invites Mrs Rima to sit on the waiting bench. Madam Rima shook her head, her face looked cute, no words came out of her mouth.

Madam Rima sat down, her hands propping up her chin, her mind everywhere, what if Mr Candra is not saved?

Some days Mr. Candra seems very happy, how he will gladly do a massive reception, his health is getting better, especially when he sees Saga and Ganis getting more romantic.

But not today, since last night, Mr. Candra looked gloomy, not many sentences came out of the man, just often daydreaming. Food and medicine were not touched.

Mrs Rima stood up again, peering behind the window of the ICU room. The doctor still took action. Madam Rima took a deep breath, throwing a sense of tightness in her chest. Then he exhaled slowly, his eyes still looking into the space within the ICU.

Ganis approached Madam Rima and Dini with gasping breath, he got word if Mr. Candra anfal from Marni, one of the house assistants. Dini also forgot to preach because she was busy calming Madam Rima.

“How is Papa, Ma?” ganis asked worriedly, then she hugged Madam Rima. Madam Rima shook her head.

“Sorry Ma, I was just told by Ms Marni about Papa” said Ganis felt guilty, from this afternoon he said to leave for a while. “What does Mas Saga already know, Ma?” asked Ganis, his hand took HP from his bag.

Madam Rima nodded.

Ganis invited Mrs Rima to sit back, her right hand embracing Madam Rima's shoulder, while her left hand held tightly to Madam Rima's fingers to calm down.

“Mama should rest” said Ganis, Mrs Rima looks tired. Madam Rima shook her head, seeing Ganis's face.

“Din, can you leave us?” said Mrs Rima to Dini who from earlier sat quietly at the end of the waiting chair.

“Iya Nyonya” replied Dini while bowing her body, then she left Ganis and Madam Rima. Madam Rima took out a piece of paper, her eyes watering. Ganis looked at the paper, received it and read it.

“Papa..” he said sobbing. Ganis stared at the paper, swallowing his saliva.

“Ma..” Ganis embraces Madam Rima, guilt overrides her.

 Chequek…

The door opened, several nurses and doctors came out of the ICU.

“Nyonya” greet a middle-aged male doctor.

Madam Rima stood up, Ganis also stood beside Madam Rima, wanting to listen to the doctor's explanation.

“How is my husband doctor?”

“We will try our best Madam, it's just that until now, Mr. Candra's condition is still critical” said the doctor, Mrs Rima stroked her chest, her tears dripping on her cheeks. Ganis embraced the woman, then wiped her tears with a tissue. Gently stroked his shoulders.

Madam Rima cupped her palms together on her face, Ganis patiently stroked the woman's shoulders.

“Talk to Papa, maybe he wants to hear directly from you” said Mrs Rima calmly, without emotion. Ganis hesitated a little, she looked at Madam Rima.

With the doctor's permission, Ganis entered the ICU room wearing special clothes. His steps felt heavy, the sound of a tool attached to Mr. Candra's body was heard. Ganis felt pity for what he saw, various tools and hoses stuck on the helpless body. Ganis approached, looking at Mr. Candra's face which looked like one was fast asleep.

Just yesterday they were joking, only this morning he did not meet his father-in-law on the grounds that Mr. Candra wanted to have breakfast in the room.

Ganis sat down on the chair next to Lord Candra's bed, slowly Ganis holding the hand of Lord Candra. I wish the man nearby would open his eyes.

“Pa..” he said slowly, his tears had flowed down his cheeks. “I'm sorry Ganis, Pa...I don't even know if I deserve to call you Papa” Ganis said as she stroked the back of Mr. Candra's hand gently.

“Papa..I'm not anyone who comes in your son's life, even in your life and Mrs Rima is very kind, especially me”

Ganis began to sob, his memory returning to the situation where Mr. Candra with open arms accepted him as Saga's wife, whereas at that time Ganis was present with the status of Saga's mistress boyfriend (according to Mr. Candra).

“Even Papa never bothered about my status” added Ganis, his right hand wiped the tears that broke.

“Sorry if all this time I lied with my status, Pa...aku...I do not mean that..and...” Ganis could not continue his sentence, his voice choked, his cry back sobbed.

Ganis took a deep breath, trying to master his emotions, “Dan..the letter of the agreement, I was forced to do so, because.because” Ganis sentence was again interrupted, the sense of regret and wound in his heart made him helpless. How could Mr. Candra find his letter of agreement with Anaya.

“Pa...I was very forced because I was cornered by my circumstances, not another intention Tuan”

“I'm sorry if I hurt your heart and your family's feelings, but that's not what I mean Pa..”.

Though without a response, Ganis continued to talk with Mr. Candra.

Saga stopped his steps in front of the ICU room, seeing Mrs Rima sitting on the front bench of the ICU. Saga looked inside, seeing Ganis inside, talking alone.

Madam Rima stood up and hugged her only son, her tears melted. Saga gave a back hug to the woman, so that the woman in front of her was calm.

“Why can this be Ma?” ask Saga after Mrs Rima stretched her arms. Madam Rima took a slow breath, then sat on her stool back. Saga squatted in front of Madam Rima.

Madam Rima took out the same piece of paper, Saga received the paper with an astonished face. Open the paper, read it carefully. A flash of anger instantly filled his eyeballs. Saga squeezed the paper roughly. Saga stood up, his eyes looking towards the ICU room. Madame

Rima stood up, walked over to Saga, his hand holding Saga's right arm. His head shook slowly, hinting Saga not to act rashly.

Ganis walked out of the ICU room, her eyes still puffy, she looked up upon her return closing the door slowly. Saga and Madam Rima were standing not far from the door.

“Mas..” Ganis greets Saga, the man looks at her sharply, there is no friendly view like yesterday-yesterday. Madam Rima bit her lip, feeling if her decision was wrong this time.

“Saga...” Mrs Rima is still holding Saga's arm. Saga removed Madam Rima's hand from her arm, she approached Ganis, then pulled the girl's wrist violently, taking her away from the place.

Saga carries Ganis at the end of the room near the toilet, a quiet atmosphere of people passing by. Now that he was facing Ganis, Saga stared intently at Ganis' eyes.

“Mas..I can explain” by looking at the attitude of Saga, of course Ganis already very understanding what happened, Saga already knows the contents of the paper.

“What will you explain to me now?” a flash of anger so filled his eyes. Just this time Ganis saw that angry Saga. “I would hate it the most if anyone lied to me” he added, both his hands clutching both of Ganis' arms.

“Never mess with me..” growled.

“It's not like what Mas thinks” Ganis is trying to diplomacy.

“Since the beginning of seeing you beside Anaya, I felt something strange, and it turns out you..” Saga released the grip of her hand, now she turned to her back to Ganis. His right hand clenched, then hit the wall in front of him. Ganis was surprised, raising his face.

“Don't Mas” Ganis grab Saga's hand.

“What do you care?” ask Saga in anger. Ganis was still trying to block Saga from hitting the wall again. The girl's tears had gone down her cheeks. It was as if there was no longer any chance for him to explain his problem sitting down.
