..."Many people are good at wearing masks just to cover their real faces. They might look good in front of you, but behind .. we don't know what the person is like."...
...****************...
The three men who had been paralyzed were taken to the police station along with Leli. Zifana was immediately rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. Everyone looked worried especially when remembering how Zifana was drenched in blood.
After waiting for more than two hours, they exhaled a sigh of relief when the doctor said that Zifana's condition had stabilized and it was fortunate that the knife did not hit the girl's internal organs.
For the time being they were waiting for Zifana to come to her senses. Seeing the situation that began to feel safe, Joshua said goodbye to his parents first to see the jerks, especially Leli. Truly, Joshua was eager to finish off the woman because it had made his sister hurt.
"Please be calm here. Do not let there be a rowdy," one of the police officers reminded. Joshua only agreed though he had to desperately hold back the emotions that felt filled his chest.
"You have to be emotionally resilient, Jo." Jason reminded his best friend and only responded with a rude sigh.
"Tell me, why can you hurt Zifana? Are you still vengeful for him?" Joshua's voice was not very loud, but it was full of emphasis.
"You don't need to know, Bang." Leli replied casually. There was no guilt on his face.
"I should know! You're like a snake-faced man. You helped me find Zifana's whereabouts until they got caught, but you stabbed Zifana instead. Who are you defending!" ask Joshua again. Without lowering or raising his tone.
"I'm not defending anyone! Because I hate all of you! There's nothing I don't hate but myself!" reply Leli is no less firm.
Joshua silenced. If this keeps up there they'll keep arguing. "Then be well. I'll keep you in jail for a long time."
"As far as you are, Bang. I am thankful that I got here all the time. I don't need to find a place to live and cry over my son's departure." Leli's voice that was filled with assertiveness now began to sound swallowed.
"meaning?" asked Joshua wonder especially when he saw the look on Leli's face suddenly sad.
"I want to die and go as far away from this world as possible. Followed my dead son first. My heart is already very sick and unable to survive." Leli covered her face and sobbed softly.
Jason and Joshua were silent about it.
"W-is your son dead?" ask Joshua.
"Yes. Jayden killed my son, his own flesh and blood."
Silent.
Leli's reply left the two men dumbfounded until they closed their mouths shut. In fact, Joshua looked at Leli very closely to find the earnestness of the woman's words.
The flashback
Leli felt very hurt because Jayden said the word talak. Doesn't that mean she's officially a widow. Leli's heart really hurt because he felt only made into a game by the man.
"Be quiet! I'm sick of hearing your voice!" snapped Jayden.
Leli was just silent while holding her child. However, he is shocked when Jayden suddenly takes over the baby sling and says that it will take him for a walk. Leli insisted on joining, but Jayden strictly forbade.
Leli's heart suddenly worried. He continued to contact Jayden, but none of his calls were connected. As a mother, Leli really felt very anxious even though her son was with his biological father.
After three hours struggling with anxiety, Leli also tried to find Jayden. Not an easy thing indeed, but Leli was so jolted when Jayden was in an empty garden. What made Leli suddenly anxious was a mound of soil that was still wet beside the man.
"Jay! What are you doing!"
Jayden flinched when he saw Leli walking closer to him.
"Where's our son?" ask the woman again. So demanding an answer.
"He's dead even I just buried him" Jayden said casually.
"You're crazy, Jay! You're so insane!" Leli's tears began to flow profusely especially when staring at the mound of land. Leli approached to dismantle again, but Jayden actually pulled the woman to get away from there.
"Take me off, Jay! You really are an animal!" snapped Leli still continued to thrash.
"You just calm down. I buried our son properly. Not the grave. Let him be quiet in heaven." Jayden still replied casually.
"You're crazy! You're so crazy!" Leli kept swearing. Really, his heart felt very sick.
They stopped after walking far enough. Then Jayden cupped Leli's chin even slightly rem*snya to make Leli grimace in pain. However, Jayden did not care about it.
"Listen to me! I deliberately killed our son because I didn't want no one to take care of him. I'm sure sooner or later we'll be caught. It is better for our children to be with God. It's safer than living in an orphanage. After all, one day you can still have another child. So you don't have to cry like this" Jayden said.
Leli could only shut up and hold a grudge against the man in front of her.
Flashback off
"I-I really don't believe that." Joshua looked at Leli in disbelief. However, when he saw the look in the woman's eyes that showed a deep wound. Joshua began to sympathize with him.
"If you don't believe it's okay, Bang. I don't need to be trusted." Leli began to look calm even though his face still left a livability.
"Here it is, you better just tell me everything honestly. Let Jayden get as much punishment as possible for all his actions. Including killing your son," Joshua concluded.
Leli just shut up and resigned.
