2 Meters per Second
Poetry for my beloved sister

“Huh..”.

A few minutes later, I had already climbed the last rung of stairs, and was also trying to gather some of my own consciousness. In front of my eyes right out the window, there was a dripping dew and the sign that this hospital building was a sanction for all my sadness.

“Is it all right, if I visit her a little late?”

The restlessness within myself was still at its peak when I arrived at my sister's doorstep, my throat that had started to shake dryly, and my back that was already feeling sore.

“Not a problem, right. This is just my sister's room?”

I voiced my voice slowly and a little out loud to try to calm myself down, but even with a choked voice because myself also felt worried about her.

Tukkkp...! Tukkkp…! Tukkkp…! Tukkkp…!

I tapped slowly while putting on full of anxiety and fear. All who answered in a dark voice of silence.

“Kok no answer? Looks like my sister is already angry.”

To test the slight sense of uneasiness, I held the doorknob. Slowly and try to turn the handle gently. I also didn't feel the expected resistance if the door was locked, this was definitely open.

“Excuse me, sister?”

My sister was silent and there was no word answer or movement from her…

With a short pause I began to enter, my eyes looked towards my sister who was still looking at the window in a waking position and sitting on her bed. She was my sister named Lia Larasati, wearing beautiful pure white clothes and long straight black hair.

Looking at such a scene, I could not help but shut my mouth, or I even stopped breathing grandly and calmly.

The curtain hung from the window to the north, inside that silent low roofed room, the entire room had been scattered richly the smell of medicines that had swept over me upon entering this room. In the corner there is a table, chair and vase of flowers containing white roses, while in the middle of the corner of the room there is a small bed that is clean white.

Without any resistance of voice or movement from him, I immediately greeted him once again with a funny tone while smiling sweetly at him.

“Sorry sister, you are long waiting for the arrival of brother, yes?”

Without waiting for a long time, he looked straight at me.

“Yes, older brother once. Here Lia is bored.”

A very melodious voice to the point of hitting my eardrum with the shape of his face that was perfectly sweet pouting. With a short pause, he turned his head towards the jandela of the sick room. It was as if he was rejecting his displeasure, but his mannerisms and tone of voice were what I liked the most, what a sister I cared about.

“Ahhh. Sorry yes, brother who came late.”

My face smiled sincerely at her, as I apologized.

After all, she is my only sister I have.

After looking around the room, I narrowed my eyes slowly. One chair, one bed... There was no one else here besides Lia, and here she woke up, who only lowered her head when asked about her condition.

I felt that talking to him would be useless, but I looked at his pouting face silently and pulled the chair, then I sat down without making a sound. I'll be here with him for a while, if Lia still hasn't been cheerful as well it's time I'm…

I looked towards her shiny black hair with a hopeful look, then looked towards her hand Lia alternately.

Poetry for my beloved sister Lia.

My sister whom I love.

I will try to be the brother who is always there for you.

All I have now is pain in the corner of my heart.

I want her life to be like a child.

Cheerful and smiling.

My brother cannot taste the bitterness of the world.

My sister should stay healthy and smile.

God please help me.

Help me to keep looking after him.

Help me to keep her happy.

Even though he's still in the hospital.

I will always pray for him.

Asking for white hope enlightenment for him.

God knows everything.

And I always believed in it.

About healing.

My sister should be happy in her life.

He can't be broken, he can't languish.

No, he should be happy.

I pray every night for him.

For his life and for his smile.

I will continue to protect.

Her smile.
