Sacrifice

At work, Areun waited for the bus at the stop.

"It's okay Jay." Areun spoke on the phone. "I'll be careful.I know.the bus is here, see you in Jay's office!" Areun hung up his phone and when he turned his head, he found a familiar figure.

"What's he doing here?" Thought Areun got on the bus.

Because the bus full of Areun had to stand. Behind him Jaemin stood. Although Areun was reluctant and wanted to move but because of the crowded bus made Areun stay in his position. The bus drove.

Ciiiittty. Areun lost his balance but deftly Jaemin held Areun back. Areun's heart was pounding with shock when it could brake even more. Her face flushed.

"Swimming Areun!" Inwardly

In office...

"You're leaving with him?" Jay asked whispering at Areun's desk.

"No, he just happened to be one bus with me."

"He's on the bus? Is it possible that he is no longer considered to be Jang's family? Goods and facilities seized?"

"Of course." Answer Areun.

"But I'm sure he's just intentionally doing this because of me." Think Areun.

Jaemin can quickly blend in with friends at the office. She easily has friends, especially women who can turn into angels to be close to her.

At lunchtime Areun could see Jaemin with two male friends and two female friends chatting and joking.

"Why are you torturing me like this?" Areun pondered in his heart. "So far from you is a tough test for me, especially like this, when I can't get close to you but I can hear your voice and see you laughing."

"You should eat Areun's fruit." Jay said peeling oranges made Areun aware of his daydream. "It's eat." Giving oranges to Areun.

"Thank you."

"I took the bus."

"But Areun,"

"It's okay Jay. I want to stay active during this pregnancy."

"You listen to the doctor, your womb is weak."

"Weak doesn't mean you can't move around freely, Jay. It's still safe. Just relax."

"All right then."

"Hopefully this isn't just your reason for being close to Jaemin." Said Jay in his heart looking cynically at Jaemin.

At work Areun took a bus to the direction of Kasi's apartment. Incidentally there was an empty bench. Relieved and blessed Areun sat by the window, putting up earphones and turning on music on his phone. It felt like someone was filling the bench next to him. Areun turned his head and saw Jaemin was already by his side now.

"Hi Areun!" She smiled sweetly. Areun threw away his face pretending not to hear it.

"Please talk to me please! I'm afraid to waver again." Grimacing in his mind.

"I know you can still hear me. It's okay if you don't answer." Jaemin said he saw Areun's face reflected on the glass of the bus. "But I just want you to know, I will do anything for you, including taking off all my comforts as long as I can always be close to you."

Areun bit the skin inside his lower lip to hold back his feelings. He did not want to look weak let alone to cry at the words of Jaemin that made him happy and painful for him who could not repay Jaemin's sacrifice.

The ephiphany song from Jin BTS that was heard from his earphone added to the feeling of unease in Areun's heart.
