59. Getting the shadow

"Listen, from this moment on Burn Shadow and his sister become a part of us."

Colonel Graham explains Burn Shadow's duties. He will work separately from inside the agent's room as a special informant who handles confidential data networks that cannot be accessed by ordinary employees.

As a payment for higher access, Burn Shadow must work for 9-12 hours a day.

Approval was reached and confidential data returned to the department. Hasan finally got home.

Burn Shadow turned down the room tour because he already knew the ins and outs of the building. Her sullen sister asked Lim to directly show their room rather than waste time.

Lim remained patient with them.

Burn Shadow and his sister were given different rooms next to Lim's room.

Silverblade monitored them from his phone connected to a surveillance camera in Lim's room.

"You're still installing cameras in a female agent's room?" Colonel Graham said it was a bad habit.

"You know what else, we have to keep an eye on our agent." Silverblade denied in a funny way.

"Stop that Silverblade, we've got a lot of work after receiving 2 new agents."

DKK should only have 5 agents. With the entry of Shadow and his brother Kyle the number of agents became 7.

Because the South DKK has violated the rules they have to accept the consequences. Burn Shadow and his brother Kyle must give their data to the center. As a result, DKK South must face the onslaught of freelance agents who want to join as well.

Hasan returned to the office when the office was full of applicants.

This information leaked out and reached the ears of the Freelance agents. Agents who are not recruited by any department because of their abilities do not meet the standards." Lim's remarks gave Hasan the idea to clear up the matter.

"Colonel! How many agents can we have?" Ask Hasan.

"Only 5 should be, I don't think about firing any of you."

"I have an idea to take care of them all. If you'd like to, let me take care of it." Hasan asked permission politely, bowing his head as low as his chest.

"Tell me before you go through with your plan."

Hasan explained with his special features. Using the event in the novel HATS, precisely in volume 8 when the main character who wants to register as a hunter is prevented by other candidate candidates.

After a brief negotiation Colonel Graham decided to make a challenge for the applicants. The challenge is only one, defeating agents to 6th and 7th South DKK who are experts in using computers.

Burn Shadow wears a cute animal mask that Lim put on display in his room.

Hasan made the leveling rules. That means all applicants must be able to defeat Burn Shadow first if they want to continue challenging Kyle. That way people will think that Kyle is more talented than his brother.

"Please enter! 6 first recruit."

Burn Shadow nervously in room with many men.

"Don't be nervous, they won't do anything bad while I'm here." Said Lim wearing a cute bunny mask.

Hasan changed his clothes because he had shown his face to the suitors.

Hasan and Beyond Birthday were in charge of guarding the queue that extended until the front door.

The first 6 challengers were defeated by Burn Shadow in the Hacker challenge. Most applicants fall in that challenge. Burn Shadow is very fast in writing coding, even in 12 times making a coding he only experienced typo once.

By nightfall, 82 applicants had finally returned home with failure.

Burn Shadow is exhausted physically and mind is carried by BB to his room.

"Finally, can I go home now? Too bad tomorrow is Monday." Ask Hasan to Silverblade.

"Go home, your overtime will be put into your pay."

One hour overtime is valued at 500 k, so 4 hours overtime \= 2 million rupiah..

"No loss in resigning from BPOM."

Hasan came home on his new motorcycle that he bought this afternoon.

Silverblade came to Kyle and Shadow's room.

"What night did night come here?" kyle asked in a sharp tone.

"I heard you guys punch holes in the walls of the room to be together. You guys are really... "

Silverblade walked in and looked at Kyle's hollowed-out room wall.

"Our colonel Graham said we are free to put anything in the room as long as it does not break the rules and gives comfort. So I punched a wall to keep us together." 

Hearing the reason Kyle Silverblade could only let out a long sigh.

Kyle noticed Silverblade, the man had a strange wound on his right neck.

"What's that injury on the right neck? Looks like a human bite."

"Oh this... "

"This is my ex's bite mark. The last time we met we had a big fight and he gave me this wound. As you can see, the bite was so strong that it stuck around my neck until now. That woman is like a wolf."

Silverblade invited Kyle who could not sleep to have a casual conversation. Silverblade claimed to often stay at the office because the house is far away. Kyle had a similar reason. He did not want to go home because his house was so ugly.

The next day, when Hasan came to Burn Shadow's office, he paid for his promise to lend HATS the book.

The girl asked with a sweet smile, she was wearing not too thick makeup, and her eye bags were gone. 

The grim Burn Shadow transforms into a beautiful girl after successfully discovering the data of Amy Giselline, a former colonel before her.
