9. Investigating pentol egg sellers

Then I realized Mr. Mulyadi is a toxic person.

"That's how." Answer's short. 

My chest grew hotter when Mulyadi asked me how poor I was, this person did not even hesitate to bring family. 

"My family has been poor since my grandmother's time. As for how poor we are, we get rice from good-natured neighbors every morning. To me being able to eat chicken once a month is a blessing."

I forced Mr. Mulyadi to end the sickening conversation by asking about work in the field. 

Broadly speaking there are 2 things we have to do when plunging into the field. First, conduct raids on food products. Tends to non-self-service markets, but can also be to self-service. Second, check the drug. Usually sold in pharmacies and concoction drugs at community service posts. 

Along the way my nose was spoiled by various smells. Especially when passing through the market. The smell of food is stronger than the smell of muddy soil.

"Put your head into Hasan's car!. No matter how low your social class is, don't act in the car." Said Mr. Mulyadi.

Working with a shitty colleague started today.

When getting out of the car Mr. Mulyadi told me to improve my walking posture, should not be too stooped. Then do not make useless movements such as peeling and scratching the hair.

Mr. Mulyadi is very concerned about appearance while working. I followed him because Mr. Naryono told me so.

Our job today is to handle street vendor reports that are housed at one point. The pentol egg seller was found selling pentol with a rotten filling.

Too bad, even though egg pentol is my favorite snack in addition to bone-dry pentol.

"Because this is your first field assignment you have to do it alone." Mr. Mulyadi said throwing his responsibility at me.

"Who? Shouldn't you teach me on the first day?. How to speak good language to traders and such?." My protest.

"Pak Naryono also taught me this way. Later if there is a rampage then I intervened."

I'm sure this absurd idea won't end well. I don't know what to be assertive about, and what kind of leniency.

To provide evidence that I was left to work alone, I recorded my activities today with a voice record.

First case; pentol Warung which sells rotten egg stuffing pentol.

Name; Mr. Majas.

The selling character; Bad. 

"Good afternoon, Majas, I came from BPOM because I got a report from the community that you put rotten eggs into the pentol. Either you did it on purpose or not, but this act will reduce the number of customers." My papar.

The father of the merchant handed the spoon of curry to the woman who was likely his wife. He crossed his arms and threw a displeased look at the face of a BPOM member.

The amateur replied with the same look.

"Who's word is that? how come I never hear a customer complain?."

"Maybe it's a customer whose order was brought home."

"Did you see this writing?."

Mr. Majas pointed at the sticker stuck in front of the cart.

Orders cannot be brought home.

It's difficult. If I insist on the whistleblower at home I have no proof either. Because the evidence is in the hands of Mr. Mulyadi who is out of nowhere now.

Shortly afterwards Mr. Mulyadi sent a screenshot of the report from the person. This method is really ineffective because the whistleblower is not with us. The whistleblower should not have left the location like I did at the fruit market that night.

Mr. Majas let me check the sale products. If there is nothing, I will leave immediately. The fact that this small shop remains crowded buyers increasingly downplay the person's accusations about the existence of rotten eggs. 

I rely on my sense of smell to do a special trigger so that my nose can recognize the foul smell of eggs. By breaking a rotten egg right in front of my nose and remembering the smell.

"Father did what daritadi did?."

"BPOM field members are equipped with special skills to smell the aroma of food. If I smell a foul stench among this pile of pentols..."

After smelling I did not find a foul smell, I started buying some pentol and eating it. The pentol taste is good and nothing is rotten. Maybe someone gave a false report. 

I went back to see Mulyadi, who was suddenly across the street. 

"Sir, I didn't find a rotten pentol as reported."

Mr. Mulyadi stood up and took me back to the shop. 

Mr. Mulyadi came just to solve this problem by talking. Then we went to investigate who the whistleblower was. At least that's how I think it is. 

"We do not need to investigate the whistleblower, let the PKL determine. Because our job is just to take care of the merchant who makes cheating not fraud or defamation."

"But didn't this man make a false report that troubled us?."

"It also depends on Mr. Naryono. If he does not need to take care of it, then there is no need. Besides we have a second case."

Thanks to this work the sense of smell is greatly increased. Although it cannot be measured specifically, now I can distinguish medicinal stones as well.

I also practiced recognizing the smell of animals, who knows later it will be useful.

"I have to develop this ability as best I can. At least I'll work 1 - 2 years at BPOM."

Night in my contract. I heard about a child being bitten by a dog. The dog that bit him had a mouth filled with foam. It is no mistake that this is a rabies dog. 

I hurriedly closed the doors and windows because my neighbor said the dog was still wandering around the area. 

"Why did you close the door, son?." Ask mom.

"There's a crazy dog running around. If bitten we could die!."

"Huhh?!. But I was bitten by a dog this afternoon..."

Mom showed me the dog bite marks on her hand. Without a second thought I immediately took my mother to the hospital for vaccination. Fortunately, a vaccine for rabies is available at the local hospital. If only you hadn't told me that she would have died within a week. 

"I can't imagine losing my mother." I was crying on mom's lap, almost, really almost. Rabies is a virus with a worldwide mortality rate of 99%. 

A person infected with rabies will not be safe if they experience symptoms of sore throat when drinking water. But my mother is different, she has not experienced that phase which means her life can still be saved.

Whether the dog was caught or not. For sure I also have the same responsibility to get rid of him.
