Episode 8: A Deep Farewell

After a stressful night, Aldi and Grandpa try to find a way back to the village. The presence of the tiger reminded them of how dangerous their adventure was, and they realized that it was time to go home.

The journey back to the village was heavier than ever. Aldi felt anxious and sad to see his weak and tired-looking Grandfather. However, Grandfather still insisted on walking, giving Aldi support to stay strong and patient.

"I'm fine, son. The important thing is that we can go home safely" Grandfather said with a gentle smile.

Aldi nodded, trying to hold back the tears that wanted to come out of his eyes. He knew that the two of them had to strengthen each other to be able to return to the village safely.

Arriving by the lake, they boarded the boat they had left last night. Traveling by boat seems easier than walking in the woods. However, Aldi could feel how weak Grandpa was as he tried to hold the boat's rudder.

"Grandfather, I can drive a boat. You need to rest" Aldi bargained with worry.

Grandpa smiled and shook his head, "No, son. I want to stay here. This is our journey, and I want to finish it with you."

With a heavy heart, Aldi understood that Grandfather wanted to be present at every moment of their journey. They continue the journey with a heart full of sincerity and togetherness.

Arriving at the village, they are greeted by worried and happy villagers as they return safely. But Aldi's worries are not over. Grandpa looked increasingly weak, and his body felt hot.

"Maybe we should get you checked out by a doctor, Grandpa. You look unhealthy" Aldi said worriedly.

Grandfather shook his head and smiled weakly, "I'm fine, son. It's just a little tired from our adventure."

But Aldi knew that it was more than just plain fatigue. He knew that Grandpa had sacrificed himself to protect him from the tiger and now his body was fighting against the disease.

"I'm worried, Grandpa. You have to go to the doctor" Aldi said in a soft voice.

Grandpa smiled and stroked Aldi's head, "I'm old, son, and it's time for me to leave. Don't worry about me. You have to go on the adventure of your life and chase your dreams."

Aldi cried and hugged Grandpa tightly. He felt it was hard to let go of the person he loved so much. However, Grandfather lovingly let go of that hug and looked Aldi in the eyes with warmth.

"I know you'll always remember me in your heart, son. We will always be together in the memories and adventures we live together" Grandpa said in a soft voice.

That night, Aldi and Grandpa spent time together. They recalled the wonderful moments they spent together and talked about Aldi's plans and dreams for the future.

When morning came, Grandpa felt weaker and weaker. Aldi knew that the time had come. She hugged Grandpa tightly and thanked him for everything Grandpa had done for her.

"Thank you, Grandpa, for all the teaching, love, and support. I will always remember you with happiness and love" Aldi said in a trembling voice.

Grandfather smiled gently, "I also thank you, son. You have given meaning and happiness to my life. I'm proud of you."

Lovingly, Grandfather breathed his last in Aldi's arms. His heart that was starting to weaken finally calmed down, and he left with calmness.

Aldi felt a deep loss, but he knew that Grandfather had left happily and peacefully. He will always remember the beautiful moments with his Grandfather and learn from every teaching given.

Until now, Aldi continues to live the adventure of his life, remembering Grandpa as a figure of inspiration and love. Every time he was by the lake, he felt Grandpa's presence accompanying and guiding him. Grandfather's sacrifice will always be a strong foothold in the course of his life, teaching Aldi about the true meaning of love, perseverance, and happiness.
