ALKISAH: Prayer for the World [1001 Indonesian Fantasy Stories]
STORY: Reality

Nabila was quite surprised when she heard the wise words that came out of Jo's mouth a moment ago. Well, it's nothing, it's just that, after two years of studying in the same class, it's probably okay to say that Jo was the dumbest student in the class.

“Do not think you will feel great just because you know so many things. Maybe you are not aware, but the facts that you keep alone will be a curse for you.”

That's what Jo said.

All her life, Nabila had never seen Jo speak in such a serious tone. In fact, it was the first time Nabila saw Jo not smiling.

strange and scary can be said.

“It was shocking, wasn't it?” Asked a white-haired, three-eyed dog who had been lying at Nabila's desk. “Somehow I feel that he can see me.”

“Do not think strangely deh.. “ replied Nabila while smiling wryly. “I mean, he it's just Jo.” Nabila reminded while directing her gaze towards Jo who was telling a fun story with other classmates.

“Yes, and that little girl we met in Japan was just an ordinary tramp too right?”

“Hah? why mention it again?”

“I just want to say, you better stop judging everything just from the cover.” Obviously the dog. “If you were not a fad to see the reality of the poor girl, everything would still be smooth until now. You know, I need a lot of reality to get back to my home world.”

“Hah... yes, yes, all-know Fenris.” Nabila said lazily while pinching the two cheeks of the tiny dog. “But, if you remember, it seems like it has been a year since you came to my house and asked for my help.”

“Yeah, don't you say so do I remember kok.”

There was a humming sound that was suddenly caught by Nabila and Fenris' ears. The two then glanced at the window that was right beside their table, and looked at something that was floating high up in the sky.

Far up there, Nabila saw some floating means of transportation with magical and mysterious powers. It was definitely not a plane, but a ship. However, until now, Nabila still did not know why ships that should sail in the air, now floating in space.

“What the hell did you actually see back then?” Ask Fenris. “We have agreed, right? Whatever you see with my eyes, you must also tell me. But, why do you still not want to tell me what you saw from that poor girl?”

The wind coming through the window slit initially brought a sense of peace into Nabila, however, after he heard the question chanted by Fenris, he said, the horror he had seen a few months ago re-entered his soul, and made his heart feel very sick.

“It looks like what Jo said earlier, it has a point.” Mumbled Nabila who observed the beauty in the sky, while enjoying a glass of cold tea. For some reason until now, Nabila still unable to tell Fenris what he saw from the little girl. It feels too painful.

“Yah's... Something that is true is not necessarily good.” Fenris.

“That time.. I heard a lot of yelling. Then the poor girl flew high into space to save everyone, but she ended up falling and from then on, her life became death. As for the golden-haired child, he could only cry lamenting the departure of everything that mattered to him. The one whom he regarded as a sister, brother, om, aunt, all died... The sky is red... And that white-winged figure in the sky put a smile on his lips.”

Fenris, who was also still observing the sky and enjoying the gentle breeze, was only able to quietly hear every whisper that came out of Nabila's mouth.

Well, it cannot be denied, if reality is always terrible.
