The Cave of Cortis Snakes

Cortis is not only fast, but he also has high endurance. His nimble body twisted and curled around the mountains, moving through mountain after mountain.

He finally stopped at the huge waterfall at dusk and brought Bai Qingqing to the lake below the waterfall.

Temperatures are lower in places where there are many trees. Bai Qingqing shivered from the coldness of the lake water, feeling as if her body temperature was taken away with running water.

“This is where I sleep,” Cortis said as he pointed to the waterfall. Bai Qingqing lowered her head and did not even look up when she heard him.

Cortis took her to the waterfall. Out of guard, Bai Qingqing shouted out loud. By the time he regained his senses from his shock, he discovered that they had entered a natural cave within the waterfall.

The cave was about 20 square meters in size, like a large room, and was actually quite clean. Piles of soft grass neatly arranged in the deepest part of the cave. However, the place felt extremely humid, and there seemed to be a layer of mist in the air. Ordinary people would probably fall ill if they stayed here.

Cortis took down Bai Qingqing. Suddenly feeling strong, he quickly stepped into the deepest corner of the cave and turned around, staring at Cortis warily.

Bai Qingqing clenched her hands on her sides, her back clinging tightly to the cold stone wall, feeling a chill spread throughout her internal organs.

Cortis, however, quickly avoided the cold in his eyes and said gently, “I'll hunt.”

He then transformed into a snake and slid out of the stone cave.
